IC: "Oh this is going to be a long day..." Amy sighed as she followed Dmitrii on his rampage through the gym. Braixy, however, was alright with this development as she absolutely loves honey.

Trainer after trainer fell to his Pokemon until they reached the garden-like center of the gym. Garchomp had returned to his Pokeball long before as his height would create quite the mess and the poor Pokemon had already had enough for today as it is. Large vats of honey rested at the back of the gym in containers that glowed in the sunlight. Trees covered the outer edges of the large glass dome while blue tile surrounded the traditional dirt floor of the gym. Hidden among the outer edges of the gym in the trees were various paintings or sculptures to add a bit of life to the already lively garden-like area. A man stood at the back of the gym with a Levanny, a Pokemon native to this region, as they both looked over some sort of white lace. Both stopped what they were doing when the black-haired boy burst through the doors to the central chamber of the gym. It took the tall man a moment to process what it was Dmitrii was yelling about before he responded.

"Disgusting? All the honey in this gym was produced by the Pokemon who live here, I believe you owe them all an apology," He hummed playfully as if Dmitrii wasn't anything more than an angry Skitty. Considering all the trainers he's seen over his time here, his attitude probably meant nothing more to him than that of an angry Skitty, "and if you don't like it now, I think you'll really hate my ideas for renovation," He continued to tease as his Pokemon smiled happily at the group.

"Please don't make him angry... I think that first guy was angry enough..." Amy mumbled from behind him, but she didn't expect much. Braixy was just thrilled with the little garden area and was happily trotting around inspecting the art as if nothing else mattered.

  • alright, good idea

Dmitrii grumbled under his breath, saying something along the lines of “Well it’s not my fault there’s honey on walls.” He rolled his eyes. “Well then I’m happy I’m not coming here later, and not now.” The slightly condescending attitude of the artist angerer Dmitrii. “You think you’re all strong and tough, huh? Well Scizor and I got a nice surprise for you.” He mumbled to himself. He motioned for his bug-type to follow him to the battlefield.

Scizor stretched as his trainer cracked his knuckles. He wasn’t sure what to expect from this man’s pokemon. Would they be strong? He hoped so. Dmitrii sat down and crossed his legs. “Do you really need any help, Sciz?” Scizor rolled his eyes at the nickname, before shaking his head. He was sure he would do fine. Dmitrii chuckled. “What, you don’t like Sciz? I think it sounds nice.”

    ready for battle

  • "Levanny, if you would," The artist politely requested as the bug-type at his side hummed cheerfully. Happily depositing the small item she had in her trainer's hands the tall bug Pokemon made her way to center stage so to speak. Her antenna twitched to the changes in the air and a large smile remained placid on her face, she looked rather cheerful like her trainer. Amy wandered over to Braixy's site to take a seat on the stone railing that separated the trees from the tile. She knew that somebody was really going to get hurt, but as to which side she wasn't sure. Scizor was strong, but that was only one trainer and from what her brother would tell her, Gym leaders were very strong individuals.

"Your Scizor looks impressive, if you wouldn't mind could you make the first move...?" The gym leader asked with a small smile as his sentence trailed off as if waiting for something. He had absolutely no idea who this trainer was and honestly he would like some inkling as to who he was possibly bestowing a gym badge too.

  • “That’s because he is impressive.” Dmitrii threw his hand out, motioning for Scizor to jump to the edge of the dirt stadium. “Use Swords Dance, if you may.” The red pokemon summoned swords that swirled around him, increasing his speed and attack dramatically.

Banette had hopped off Dmitrii’s head at the start of the battle, and was trying to make his way to Amy and Braixen. The only trouble was that now he couldn’t see them! Humorus as it was, the tiny pokemon was not at all pleased with the fact that he could no longer see his friends, with grass and stone blocking his vision. He didn’t want to distract his trainer, so he tried to call out for his pokemkn friend.

  • "Modest aren't we? Levanny, leaf blade!" The gym leader smiled as his hand went towards the glass ceiling. In light of the sudden trainer appearence he had completely forgotten about introducing himself, but he had at least tried to get the trainer's name. Levanny let out a hum in response before darting forward as the leaves from the surrounding trees centered around the bug-type's hand to form a shiny blade of foliage. She was fast, but the attack had yet to hit.

Braixy smiled and happily picked up Banette to place the ghost-type on her head. Amy watched as the fight began while her stomach sank to her feet. She had a feeling Scizor was tough and could handle himself, but she was afraid either he or the other Pokemon would get severely hurt and it scared her. If Scizor was as amazing as Dmitrii said, Levanny was done, and if not, Scizor and the others would get hurt. It was commonplace, Pokemon battles and all, but that didn't stop her from worrying.

  • lol

“I’m just telling the truth.” Dmitrii grinned maliciously, and stood up. “Scizor - X-Scissor!” Scizor crouched down ever so slightly, and by the time everyone blinked Scizor was halfway to the unsuspecting pokemon. In another split second Scizor appeared behind the Levanny, and excreted an attack so strong that afterit hit the pokemon, a visible ‘x’ comprised of compressed air sped through the air, cracking the wall behind it.

Banette thanked his friend for the help, and cheered for Scizor. whom he often though of as a big brother. He stood awestruck as the x-scissor hit the wall beside them, showering them with dust and pebbles, he tried to get Amy and Braixen to look at the impact zone, proud of his brother.

  • Levanny's eyes widened at Scizor's speed and she barely had enough time to dodge as the attack hit her leg.The bug-type let out a cry of pain as the force of the attack sent her rolling and she ended up at the edge of the arena near the tile floor. She had a visible red mark on her leg the the leaves from her attack had scattered and fallen to the floor as some fell in multiple pieces. The Pokemon sucked in a pained breath and slowly released it before struggling to her feet with a determined look. Her trainer looked stunned with the proceeding, not that he expected to loose but that this trainer's Pokemon nearly broke the wall of the gym, "modesty was a wrong choice of word," He hummed. Levanny was in no state to fight as with her leg the way it was she could barely stand and her trainer knew that, which was why no further commands were given.

The attack hit the wall and Amy's eyes widened before she latched onto Braixy to shield both Pokemon from the rubble that fell from the wall after. A few crumbles hit her back and the dust filled the air, but they were fine. After Amy let Braixy go the fire-type looked to where the attack hit the wall and her jaw dropped. The fire-type looked terrified and was tempted to go and push the injured Levanny off the field of battle. Amy paled at the mark on the wall and she used the sleeve of her jacket to block the dust, but it was also to hide the stunned expression on her face at the sight of it. Dmitrii hadn't been joking...

  • completely unfazed by the destruction, cheeredon Scizor. He waved his arms in the air with the smile on his face growing. He pointed out the obvious, using his appendage to try and direct her attention to the damaged wall. He did it in such a way, as to say “Cool, huh!”

Dmitrii cracked his knuckles. “She’s beat, Scizor. Just drag her out of the arena. The now intimidating pokemon walked over to his injured opponent, with a focused, menacing look on his face. He grabbed the Levanny’s injured leg forcefully, and haphazardly dropped her out of the arena. “There’s one!” Dmitrii triumphantly said. Scizor walked back to the center of the battlefield, as if to say “Next.”

Dmitrii was honestly surprised that Scizor listened to him there. Often more than not he preferred to show no mercy, and completely knock out his opponents. Perhaps he felt a distant feeling of kinship to the other bug-type.

  • Levanny screamed as she was picked up by her injured leg to be pulled from the arena as her head hit the floor in the process. Her trainer paled and took off from his position towards the pair till he was by his injured Pokemon. Levanny had yelled once more after she had been dropped to the ground and her trainer reached her moments later. His eyes widened at the state of his Pokemon's leg and she whimpered when he barely touched the wound, "poor thing..." He hummed as he pulled her Pokeball from his belt, "good work, rest, you'll be better soon," The gym leader smiled at the bug-type before she was returned to her Pokeball. Once the Pokeball was secured to his belt he returned to his position at the other end of the field, "as much as I appreciate a good fight, I'm obviously no match for your Pokemon, but per the league rules I can't stop the fight here. For the remaining Pokemon I'd like it if you treated them with a bit more care, your one attack was enough but dragging my Pokemon out of the ring by her injury was too cruel!" The otherwise composed gym leader said with a stern expression. He knew he wouldn't win, Levanny had been his strongest after all.

Amy's face was pale and she looked as if she had shrunk in on herself as Scizor had walked closer to where they were. Braixy's expression hadn't changed and the fire-type seemed frozen with her horrified expression. Amy figured that Dmitrii and Scizor had never been in a proper gym fight before, but even then this whole thing had gone a bit awry to begin with as his progress through the gym had been extremely fast. Maybe next time she'd suggest they slow down at the next gym and talk beforehand with the gym leader.

  • Dmitrii put his hands up. “Sorry, sorry. Scizor just has a very... Efficient way of doing things? He doesn’t like to go easy. It’s a bit cold blooded but it’s not the worst thing in the world.” He gave a mishevious smile. “He’s also used to going against stronger pokemon - no offense.” Scizor didn’t seem to be bothered by the pain he had caused the other pokemon. “Scizor, do you think you can just drag the other pokemon out of the field this time?” The said pokemon shrugged, and Dmitrii didn’t press the matter as he knew he wouldnt get a better answer.

Banette stopped cheering when he noticed the pale faces of his companions. He poked Amy and Braixen, trying his best to convey the words ‘Are you okay?’ He was confused at to why they were scared.

  • "Ambitious indeed," The gym leader frowned before he reached towards his pocket, "we'll call it two out of three, I'd rather not have my entire team bedridden," He hummed as he pulled out another Pokeball and tossed it into the air. Once more a bright light exploded and in the middle of the ground a large Durant appeared with its red eyes shifting and its pincers clicking, "Durant, dig!" He called out to the steel/bug-type. Durant clicked its pincers once more before digging into the ground at a rapid pace and kicking up a cloud of dust in its wake. The dust settled quickly, but not before some of it reached poor Braixy and she let out a loud sneeze.

Amy snapped out of her state as Banette poked her arm and she smiled down at the small Pokemon, "I'm okay, I'm sorry I got lost in thought," She smiled gently. It wasn't a complete lie, she had been lost in thought, but some of it had been fear. Braixy didn't respond as she was busy cleaning dust out of her muzzle.

  • Dmitrii nodded. “That sounds fine to me.” He furrowed his brow whenever the artist’s Durant burrowed underground. He hummed to himself as he scratched his chin. “Let’s see.. Scizor, use swords dance. You may need to become more agile to dodge this pokemon’s attack.” The ever-so-familiar swords orbited the pokemon, increasing his strength and speed dramatically. Scizor narrowed his eyes as he tried to find any signs of where durant is, and where he may go.

Banette was worried. Was Scizor going to be able to anticipate where the attack will come from? Durant was underground, and they couldn’t tell where they were at. He laughed a little at the sight of Braixen trying to clean her muzzle.

  • The gym was quiet and the artist had a placid smile on his face as he just watched the arena in front of him. He didn't plan on winning, but at least he was making it just a little more difficult. All was silent after Dmitrii spoke and the tension in the air was palpable. It wasn't until maybe a whole minute later that Durant burst from the ground directly underneath Scizor with its pincers glowing white and a dangerous look in its eyes. The gym leader looked proud of his Pokemon's crafty nature as they had practiced this move plenty of times, Durant was one of his newest Pokemon after all.

Amy watched with nearly rapt attention as Durant burst from the ground at a breakneck pace. Braixy sneezed a few more times as she seemed unaware of the fight while she was kept busy with her muzzle. Dust was her enemy more so than any Pokemon alive.

  • Dmitrii gritted his teeth as Scizor barely reacted fast enough. It would be pretty funny to say that he beat a gym leader without them landing a scratch on his own pokemon. The bug pokemon jumped up in the air a good 10 feet, looking down at his attacker. “Scizor! X-Scissor!” Dmitrii yelled. Whilst it was not a direct hit, another ‘x’ made out of air appeared, shooting down towards Durant.

Banette stood on Braixen’s head tensely. Often his attention would be drawn by the adorableness of the other pokemon’s sneezes, but things just got real on the battlefield. Banette wasn’t sure if the attack would be enough to knock out Scizor’s enemy.

  • Durant saw the attack coming amd made no move to dodge as it aimed its pincers for the center of the attack. The Gym Leader's face paled when he realized what his Pokemon was doing, "Durant wa-!" but he was too late. The two attacks clashed in a flash of light and for a moment everything stopped. Durant's attack held its ground for only a moment before...

    *Crack!*

The attack itself cracked and lines of darkness spread across Durant's pincers like a web. It sounded like cracking glass before the light on Durant's pincers shattered as such so Scizor's attack broke through. Burgh became quiet as he watched his Pokemon hit the ground in a puff of dust before bouncing another few feet. When he did stop he didn't get up, a groan of pain following.

Amy blinked in surprise at the happenings. She was surprised Durant held out for the few seconds he did. Braixy was now pouting as she had missed the last minue from sneezing. She was still terrified of Scizor, but she had wanted to watch regardless.

  • Dmitrii was stunned at the Durant’s last stand. “Well... Your pokemon sure do have spirit.” He said, trying to lighten the atmosphere. He walked across the stage, past a motionless Scizor and towards Burgh. One he was in reachable distance, he held out his hand to shake Burgh’s. “Well, I think thats game. Two out of three.” He smiled. “Nice job.”

Scizor stood silently in the stadium. He was angry. He didn’t expect his opponent to hold his ground for that long. His claws shook as his eyes narrowed. He was weak, he needed to become stronger.

Banette cheered happily, and hopped off Braixen’s head, running towards Scizor. He congratulated him energetically, before stopping his celebration abruptly as he realized Scizor didn’t seem right. He poked his leg, and he didn’t respond. Banette sighed, he got like this after battles if everything he did wasnt perfect.

  • "Game... That isn't quite the word I would use to describe what we do," Burgh hummed as he tensely shook Dmitrii's hand. He did not agree with that word at all, "in the future, please work on your battle etiquette. Let me go get your badge," He hummed before retracting his hand and returning Durant to his Pokeball. Once the Pokemon was secure the gym leader smiled once more before retreating to the back of the gym. He honestly couldn't help but notice how his Scizor looked before he left the gym area. He's seen many bug-type Pokemon like Scizor, he hoped Dmitrii could handle a Pokemon like that.

Braixy followed Banette onto the field to congratulate Scizor on the fight. She cheered happily at him, oblivious to the bug-type's dilemma. To her, he was as strong as Garchomp.

Amy made her way over to Dmitrii from where she was sitting with a small smile. She was happy he won his first gym battle and happy that nobody had been severely hurt, "congratulations on the victory," She smiled at Dmitrii. She felt bad for Levanny, but that was her only concern from the battle. Durant had seemed okay, she saw his leg twitch.

  • Dmitrii rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. “Sorry about Scizor’s... Tactics.” He smiled back at Amy. “Thanks! It was really fun, you should try this too!” Banette ran over to them and high-fived his trainer. “Hey Banette, sorry you didn’t get a chance to battle today, it seems as though Scizor didn’t need any help.” He and his pokemon laughed before looking over at Scizor. “I’m guessing hes moping about how long the Durant held off?” He questioned. Banette sighed and nodded, Scizor could be such a child sometimes. Moping wont help him one bit.

    sorry for the shorter post
