    sirentide

the shadows of the trees hid him as he sank to the ground as if he were part of the foliage around him, his black fur matched with the darkness of the shrubs around him. his eyes narrowed, sharp orange gaze focused on the beautifully plump pigeon before him. his claws extended into the earth like the roots of a tree, his shoulders rolled under the obsidian coat he wore. somewhere not far, a squirrel ran across a twig that snapped. the noise startled the plump bird and he raised his lips in a sneer as it flew off, taking off into a quick run. the tom jumped into the air, his claw hooking into the birds wing but then tore away like a cloth ripping. it damaged the birds flight capabilities, but did not bring it to the ground. he raced after it, running not even a fox-length away. he realized he had reached riverclan territory, but his instincts told him to continue on the hunt instead of slowing down to evaluate the misunderstanding that would ensue from this hunting trip.

his tail streamed after him as he ran across the stepping stones, he had slipped one a little, but disregarded it and kept going. his eyes winded as he watched the bird land farther away into some reeds. slowing down, he decided to relish the hunt a little more, although it was hard with the overwhelming smell of fish clogging his nose. he lashed his tail in disgust and placed one large paw down after another, his stance and form were of perfection as he pounced on the injured bird and gave it the killing blow. "thank you starclan." he mumbled.

  • —・゚✦ she'd been out for a morning walk when her thoughts had become all consuming, she needed to run. to run from her problems, from the fears and worries. everything that swarmed within her head, clawing at her like demons. the scent of thunderclan drew her forth like a serpent, curiosity getting the better of her despite her trembling limbs. the sound of snapping branches and reeds shifting before her caused the medicine cat to pause and listen as an injured bird flew before dropping to the ground. she could hear the kill and the murmurs from a tongue she did not recognize.

"perhaps you should thank riverclan too," came a voice from the reeds as the woman slunk out, a gaze of intoxicating caribbean irises whispering over his own before dropping to his paws where his catch lay. soft paws barely recognizable upon the earth's complexion as a silken pelt of alabaster slipped from the shadowed reeds and under the gaze of the sun's sweet light in which caught fire upon calico hues as the siamese mix lifted her jaws slightly to look over the other who was much larger than she.

inside, she was shaking, sirentide's long legs on the fringe of giving in. her head screamed at her to slink away within the reeds as though she hadn't see the scene at all. confrontation wasn't something she liked. her words seconds away from splintering before she swallowed her emotions down.

upon hearing a voice lined with silk just ahead of him, he lifted his head, golden irises hardened at the sight of the riverclan cat. standing up he consciously pawed the pigeon closer to him, the large tom was afraid that she would make him leave his prey and run him off her territory. "thank riverclan? for what? i found this bird in thunderclan territory." his voice was mocking in the beginning, but he quickly smartened up, thunderclan couldn't afford any troubles with riverclan right now. and if he were the cause, pumpkinstar would force him back on apprentice duties for moons upon moons.

he wanted to take the bird and leave, but he refused to be ran out of riverclan territory by a she-cat. she had the same dainty lithe figure that most she-cat's had, and she was three legged. if they were in a battle he'd have the advantage, but he was in her territory. he took the oath for the warrior code, he should've respected the boundaries, but he couldn't let the prey slip from his claws. failure was never an option for him.

  • —・゚✦ irises of liquid gold, molten and spitting hot collided with waves of oceanic sapphire and turquoise in a battle between hot and cold. her fur bustled for a moment out of fear as he spoke, despite the two being allies, she couldn't help it as her ears flattened for several seconds as she sized the other up, he was a warrior. she, a medicine cat. she couldn't fight for shit.

the woman's chest expanded as she inhaled, gaze narrowing as she calculated the other, perhaps her next words would surprise him. "some of my clanmates would have fought you, you're lucky it was me who saw. take it," she said simply, a wary gaze looking over her own territory for a moment as though seeking out any others, for she knew her clanmates would have fought him over something as silly as prey. some of them may have even drew their claws and bared their fangs. to be honest, she didn't care. if it had been herbs she'd have smacked someone on the side of the head over it and taken them. her kindness was often mistaken for weakness, but it was no weakness. she was a diplomat and simply smarter than most idiots who would have let their pride and ego first, she wondered if the tom was one of those idiots, and she would not entertain him.

her muscles was tense, long tail coiling as she analyzed the other for a moment, watching his movements for she was always too cautious after bloodclan. her gaze slipping to his own territory of thick oak trees as though searching for a patrol before finding none. "i suggest you leave before getting us both in trouble," sirentide spoke, lifting her chin slightly as her attention returned upon him.
