She smiled and looked at him. “No you can leave, Mason. I’m still proud of you for speaking up. I’m glad I got to meet you.” She said, nodding her head in acknowledgment. “The servants put up with a lot so I’m glad that you could at least speak up. Tell me if you or the other servants ever have a problem. I’d be happy to help.” Elizabeth said with a smile.

Mason blushed a bit at seeing her smile and nodded, bowing again. "Of course..I hope to see you more in the future," he said before excusinf himself. He hurried out of the castle before he could be stopped for anything and began making the long journey back home.
-
Elizabeth smiled before heading off to her own room to get some sleep. Though she couldn’t get Mason off of her mind. The servant was charming whether he wished to be or not and oddly she felt a connection with him. She felt a bit flustered by the thought and quickly tried to put the matter aside.
-
The next morning Mason arrived at the castle like always, but he was extra cautious today. Blake clearly wasn't happy with him, so he was going to do whatever he could to avoid the prince. Nothing good would come out of it. He set to work like he did every morning, going first to clean the china in the dining hall while they all came in for breakfast. Blake wouldn't be there today, other matters in his own kingdom, so Elizabeth ate with her younger brother.
-
//Bump~
-
Sorry! I thought that I replied!
Elizabeth sat with her brother, Edward, as breakfast was served. Her brother was young, around 7 years old so she always kept watch over him and had a soft spot for the boy. She noticed as Mason came in and smiled a little, giving him a small nod as he walked in while Edward ate.
-
Mason smiled slightly back, nodding in response as he picked up some of the china to polish. It was nice, seeing Elizabeth happy, and not with Blake. After a few moments Edward looked up at his sister and smiled. "You liiiiike him!"
//It's okay! No worries : )
-
She smiled but as soon as Edward spoke up she blushed. “I-I do not, Edward. It’s polite to acknowledge someone when they walk into the room. Now eat your breakfast before it gets cold.” Elizabeth stammered, sitting up straight and tried to focus on breakfast, glancing up every few seconds.
-
Edward giggled to himself and continued eating, glancing between Mason and Elizabeth every few minutes. Mason had heard and he blushed a bit, smiling to himself at her reaction.
-
Meanwhile, Elizabeth thought more about it. Mason was handsome, she had noticed this before she had even met him. But she couldn’t possibly like him like that... could she? He was kind and seemed to be very out spoken when he needed to be and even spoke his concerns to her. He stood out from the rest of the servants and it was a charming trait. She blushed the more she thought about it and started to get distracted as she pushed the food around her plate.
-
Mason finished cleaning and glanced back at the prince and princess before he made his way over and set something beside her hand as he picked up their dirty plates. "I know it isn't really my place, but..I hope this more permanent one is good for you." It was a small origami rose made from tissue paper. Without waiting for her response he took the plates and made his way to the kitchen.
-
She didn’t even get a chance to thank him before he walked away, leaving a small present behind for her. She blushed but smiled softly as she saw the paper rose and lightly placed it in her lap so Edward couldn’t see it. She was definitely going to keep it and repay him back later
-
Mason knew he was probably overstepping a lot, but he couldn't stop himself. He just wanted her to know how much he truly appreciated her, not like Blake. By lunch he had finished everything and he was sitting under a tree in the garden, working on some sort of drawing.
-
After breakfast she headed to her room, placing the flower on her nightstand. She started working on origami figures on her own, trying to make one as equally good as the rose. It took her multiple tries and multiple sheets of paper to make something and eventually she made a small origami bunny. She went out to look for Mason and eventually found him in the garden. “Hey, Mason. What are you drawing?” She asked, hiding the paper craft behind her back.
-
Mason didn't recognize the voice at first, ready to tell her but when he picked his head up he blushed bright red and quickly hid the page. "N-Nothing!" He blabbered, embarrassed. It was a drawing of Elizabeth, nothing bad, just very detailed and well drawn; he had been working on it for a while.
-
She laughed a little and decided not to further pry at the moment. Blushing a bit at herself, she held out the origami bunny for him. "I wanted to make up for the rose you gave me... I haven't done origami since I was a bit younger but I eventually worked my way back." She said with a sheepish smile.
-
Mason stood and smiled softly at the bunny, carefully taking the paper in his hand. He was..awestruck by the little gesture. "I..I love it, your highness..thank you, very very much.." He was shocked, but grateful and it just made him fall for her even more. "I'll cherish it forever."
-
“No problem, I tried making a rose at first but it was a bit difficult especially since I didn’t have a lot of time to try. I was hoping you’d like the bunny.” Elizabeth said with a smile as he took the bunny. “I’m glad you like it.” She added happily
-
"I..I love it," he said softly and held the bunny as gently as he could in his hand, scared he was going to break it. "You really didn't have to, though.."
-
She shook her head and smiled. “It was no trouble and I was happy to make it. Besides I try to repay gifts whenever I can,” she said with a soft smile. “Everyone deserves a gift now and again.”
