  • “So you’re the one who requested me? I’m a bit surprised but we can definitely talk. Is it about earlier?” She asked giving him a small smile, trying to ease his nerves. “Here, lets sit down and you can tell me what you need to okay?” She suggested, taking a seat at the table

  • He nodded and bit his lip nervously as he sat down across from her. He definitely felt out of place, sitting face to face with her at a table. He didn't belong here. "Well, when I was walking to the kitchen earlier, I ran into Blake, and Lady Annaliese..they were a little more than friendly.." He didn't know how she'd take it, so he kept his head down and didn't meet her eyes.

  • Her eyes widened as he spoke. Blake, that disrespectful snake and one of her nobles. She let out a sigh and did her best to give him a smile. “Thank you for bringing this to my attention. This could ruin both his reputation and mine. I’ll talk to him but I won’t specify who told me this information. For now, can you please ask any of the servants if they’ve seen anything like that and tell them to see me. Tell them they won’t get in trouble if they do.” She explained and got up and lightly put her hand on his chin to lightly guide him to look at her. “Mason, You are brave for speaking up like this, it must have not been easy. I’m proud of you.” She said softly giving him a soft smile.

  • Mason made a mental note to make sure to spread the word like wildfire among the other servants. When she made him look at her he blushed as red as the rose he had given her and nodded once, a small smile forming across his lips. "I..I'd do anything for you, princess. It is a duty to keep you happy, safe, and informed."

  • She laughed a little and said, “Thank you Mason. Meanwhile I’ll take care of this. This marriage is best our people so I have to make this work out. I can’t have the future king running around with other women in my own castle.” She said with a small stressed sigh. “Mason remember this, anything could stain a royals reputation. All royals have small stains including my family and myself. However affairs are the worst possible stains you can get and their very easy to get. They get bigger with time and popularity. So I need to stop it where it starts.” Elizabeth said.

  • Mason was disappointed that she said she was still going to marry him, but he knew there was no use in trying to change her mind. "I...i don't want to see you hurt, you highness. He is a very rash, and..and very cruel man. He is mean and does not care for anyone else.." He looked up at her finally. "I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe, and happy." That's all the wanted for her; even if it meant he had to see her fall in love with soneone else.

  • She smiled softly and lightly patted his head. “Thank you, Mason. But also remember this. People marry for love. Royals marry for their people’s love. Our job is to protect our people and create suitable heirs and suitable envoirments for those heirs. Love is not needed or considered.” She explained before smiling and said, “You’re a good and honest man Mason. That’s a rare trait to find in a palace, even if from a servant. Stay pure, okay?”

  • Mason nodded and bowed his head slightly before standing straight. "Thank you, your highness..I will do my best." He clesred his throat and adjusted his outfit before he glanced around. "May I ask..if it's not too much of me..what would you do if you truly fell in love?"

  • She blushed a bit at the question and said, “I wouldn’t oppose the idea. Especially if it’s with the man I’m engaged with. But that’s highly unlikely. I don’t know what would happen if I fell in love with someone else... it depends but, I’d probably try to keep them with me even with Blake but I’d keep my distance if I could.” She said with a sheepish laugh

  • Mason nodded and hung his head, looking at his feet. "I see. Well..I must get back to my duties." He bowed again and hurried off to busy himself. She was so..amazing. Why would he say that? He was so stupid. He went inside and immediately went to clean something, anything, because he couldn't think anymore on this.

  • She nodded with a small blush as he went off. She turned and headed off to go inside in search for the prince. She didn’t know why she answered Mason’s question but she felt a little flustered the more she thought about it. But for now she couldn’t let herself get that way, she had to focus on confronting Blake in a manner that wouldn’t upset him.

  • Blake was in the throne room talking with someone from his kingdom, and when he saw Elizabeth he dismissed them and smiled wide. "My love, is there something you need?" He asked, holding a hand out to her.

Mason moved to the throne room when he saw Blake there, busying himself with polishing one of the suits of armor on the walls.

  • “Yes my prince, I just heard a few of the servants talking... Specifically about you and Lady Annaliese...? Blake, you better not be trying to fool around especially in my palace.” Elizabeth said, not taking his hand but instead crossing her arms giving him a sharp glare as she gauged his reaction.

  • Blake's eyes widened as his mind seemed to be calculating something, when his eyes gravitated to Mason cleaning. He always seemed to show up a lot lately... Blake just smiled kindly and chuckled. "My love, you really believe them? Why on earth would I ever do anything like that, especially when I have a loving fiance like you?"

Mason, listening in, scowled to himself and just shined faster, biting on his tongue to keep silent.

  • “Look, I believe you. Though, I will be asking other servants to make sure. After all, if word gets out about this, it wouldn’t look so good on either of us. Until then please use your own servants and reframe from interacting with mine. That shouldn’t be to hard if you think they make things dirty like you said before, right?” She said giving him a sweet smile that seemed more than just that.

  • Blake gave her a look and shook his head, turning away to excuse the two guards. He looked back at her anf gave one of his charming smiles, reaching out to kiss her hand. "Of course, my love. Don't worry your pretty little head about any of this, okay? It will all be taken care of soon."

  • “Yes, I’ll make sure of it. I just want to make sure that no one gets hurt here.” She said and added, “I’ll be sure to tell the servants you won’t need them anymore to serve you.” Elizabeth said with a smile and turned away. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go do just that.” She said and started to head out of the room.

  • Blake watched her go, and waited until she was out of the room to make his way over to Mason angrily. "This is all your doing, isn't it?" Blake snapped at him. "I'll have you removed from her permanently, if this happens again." Mason couldn't do anything but listen, knowing if he said anything it wouldn't end well at all. So, he just watched Blake leave and went back to cleaning. Maybe now would be a good time to quit..

  • After meeting with a few servants and telling them what happened, She headed to the garden to go out to think. She had to figure out what a good ending to this matter would be and what a bad end would be. Elizabeth was not enthusiastic about it, but she needed this marriage to go well. She sighed and leaned back.

  • Blake left the castle for the day, and Mason finished his duties after ankther hour. When he cleaned himself up he made his way to the garden, to make sire Elizabeth was okay before he left. He bowed in front of her and looked up. "Your highness, I am taking my leave for the night..is there anything you need done befote I go?" He wasn't going to tell her about what Blake had said; until Blake posed an actual threat Mason wasn't worried about it.
