  • Marshpaw

So she'd rather defend her adopted children, she'd rather love her adopted children- Well so be it, now all she'd have left were them. He was through trying to win her over, he shouldn't have to! She was his mother, she had birthed him not those orphans! Whatever though.. Marshpaw blew out a huff of frustrated air before storming across Riverclan's border to Windclan.

Let her enjoy those orphans, why would his mother even have kits if she was just going to take in every one she saw? The black furred tom lashed his tail, fury rolling off him in waves. Didn't matter, he kept trying to repeat to himself.

  • ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* "you're a clan cat, i'd figure you'd be smart enough to figure out what a border was but i suppose riverclanner's aren't as clever as they're made out to be," came a voice as the girl stalked forth, lashing her long, feathery tail as it coiled and struck through the air like a snake. desertpaw lifted her chin slightly to look down upon the apprentice with slight disinterest from where she stood as though she could destroy him with one blow, a mighty warrioress looking down upon someone weaker than she. she viewed everyone that way no matter who they were at times. she built herself up within her head and that was how she acted. "tell me why you're trespsassing or else things will get, well..." she paused, as a pair of golden eyes pierced his own. her words as dry as autumn grass as a little smirk coaxed her captivating features, tilting her head to the side as she finished her sentence, "messy."

she'd never back down from a fight if it came to it, in fact, it was as though she wanted one. not like she cared how she presented windclan considering her family's history. besides, she was protecting the borders for all she knew he could be stealing prey or herbs.

  • Marshpaw

His sights soon fell upon a lone molly, she was petite yet had a lean build but not that that mattered. Her words could've been stated to a boulder as he didn't care for her threats so she was wasting her breath. "Bite me." Marshpaw growled, feathery black tail lashing behind him. "I belong to no clan anymore, its all a lie." The dark tom spat, his green eyes blazing with all the anger that has been building inside him for so long.

He aimed to move past the long legged Windclanner, he wasn't going to waste another minute- Waste another word.

  • ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* 'bite me'

the words hung in the air caused that smirk to curl into a little smile as her golden eyes grew innocent for a moment, a kind of twisted lie as she bat her lashes. it was almost manipulative, a kind of darkness. "my pleasure," she responded as he started forth once more to continue further within the territory, as he past her, she aimed to throw her weight against him, attempting to knock the other to the ground in order to prevent the other apprentice from traveling further and if he did, she wouldn't be playing nice... and this was her nice.

"go home, kid, don't be foolish or i'll drag you back myself when you're done throwing your tantrum," she stated blandly as her gaze traversed across the surroundings in boredom before returning upon his own. her gaze narrowing as her long tail lashed for a moment before settling down. it was as though she could feel the waves of anger radiating from his coat, his mind was foggy, he wasn't thinking clearly. suddenly, the boredom vanished upon his next words. why was she trying to persuade him back? mostly, she just wanted him off the territory because letting him through would mean she'd failed at becoming the best warrior she could possibly be. letting him through would be weak, a soft hearted act. it was his words that had sunk within her head. she felt the same, ever since she found out that she wasn't a windclanner, her life had been a lie. the clan had been a lie. she shook her head slightly, calculating his actions as though trying to find an answer for her own problems within his. "what do you mean you belong to no clan?"

  • Marshpaw

He had thought her words had only been that, words. Though he was proven wrong when the molly knocked him to the ground. Marshpaw was quick to roll back onto his paws, he squared his shoulders as he narrowed his eyes upon the Windclanner. "You're not taking me back. I'm never going back." He stated firmly. His green eyes moved past her at the wide open moor past her before his optics settled back upon her.

"I mean I left them." The black furred tom nodded his head over his shoulder towards Riverclan's border. "What's the point in being in a clan if your own mother doesn't care about you- If your only and best friend is dead? No one else cares for me there so I'm better off on my own."

  • "oh honey." her mom side was coming out as she stumbled upon the pair, hearing the young riverclan tom's words made her heart crack a little as sympathy for him overwhelmed her. she was always the emotional one, rabbitkit unfortunately was smothered in attention, although it didn't seem that her only surviving daughter minded that one bit. the silver tabby padded closer to the pair, not sure if any had picked up her scent or heard her words, her plush tail carried ever so slightly over the grass. she noticed desertpaw doing the right thing with asking where he was from and insuring that crossing the borders wasn't okay in one bit. but as she neared them, she felt sad for the young tom.

a soft smile curved her lips, warmth radiating from her eyes as she watched the two. "what are you looking for then?" if he were leaving his clan because there was nothing left, then what exactly did he want? when she had asked her question, it had a double meaning... was he looking for a new home? or was he looking for someone to care about him? either way she found herself wanting to help him. he just seemed so lonely.

  • Marshpaw

His green gaze flickered over to another molly, this one with marble tabby patterns and a softer expression than the apprentice before him. Two against one? That didn't seem fair though as she spoke it didn't seem like she wanted to fight, nothing in her posture gave way that she meant to be a threat. "I.." The black furred tom trailed off, what was he looking for? His temper seemed to simmer down a bit though his stance remained hardened and tense.

Marshpaw lowered his eyes before shaking his head. "I don't know.. I just, I don't want to stay somewhere I don't belong." He muttered and lifted his head only to turn it away from the two Windclanners.

  • ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* she smirked as her attack hit him before he rolled back up, she raised her jaws slightly, rolling her shoulders as she listened to him. hardened eyes of molten flame become smothered slightly as though she felt the same way, as though she felt bad for him. she hated that feeling. why did she feel bad for him? she cleared her throat, suddenly feeling weak for a moment as brightmoon arrived, a kind of relief settling within her chest upon the warrior's presence, thankful someone else had arrived to take the weight from her shoulders.

he was so sad, so lonely as though he had been discarded. "you'll get eaten alive out there," desertpaw said, her voice was blunt with hardened truth. bloodclan ruled the city and rogue and loner groups thrived from beyond as did predatory creatures. "you can stay with windclan if you like, you can make your decision here as long as you hunt and fight like the rest of us. we don't take deadweights in so you better not be one. that is if jasperstar allows you," she said. she knew what she said was contradictory to him not wanting to stay in a place he didn't belong, but it was better than nothing. if he fought and hunted along with the rest of them he wasn't too much of an outsider. he was too young to be on his own.

  • her heart seemed to break for him, how could no one care for their own kit and make them feel as if they belonged? she nodded, understanding flittering through her pale blue eyes. "how would you know where you belong if you don't try new things darling?" she looked to desertpaw and nodded in agreement, "you're more than welcomed to ask jasperstar if you could stay for a bit." she said with confidence in her tone, she could already see her young kit pestering this apprentice to play. she has yet to meet a cat within the clan that didn't eventually smile with rabbitkit playing with them.

"what was your name?" she asked, wanting to put a name to the face. she had to remind herself that she couldn't just bring anyone back to meet jasperstar. she had to know who they were, otherwise she'd look foolish.

    Jasper..

  • Marshpaw

The dark tom whipped his head towards the Windclan apprentice with an open maw about to make a retort to her statement but he soon ended up closing his mouth. What if he stayed here for a bit? He had no destination in mind, just to keep getting away from the place he had called home. So.. Should he consider it? Marshpaw's green gaze moved over to the older molly as she spoke, his defensive stance weakened. "Maybe.. For a bit. I won't be dead weight though." He gave a pointed look at the other molly before looking back at the Windclan warrior.

    "I'm Marshpaw."

  • a brilliant smile shown from her maw as he introduced himself to them. she padded closer, standing beside her clanmate now and giving a friendly flick of her tail tip, "i'm brightmoon, it's a pleasure to meet you marshpaw!" she was excited to have another cat in the clan, and the fact he said he would pull his own weight didn't sway her decision on whether she approved of him being her clanmate or not. honestly all she saw a young cat with potential and who needed a strong foundation to grown on.

  • We've got to hold on, to what we've got — JasperStar — WindClan —

Jasperstar spotted Desertpaw and Brightmoon from afar, speaking to a young tom he didn't recognize. There was tension between Desertpaw and the stranger, but Brightmoon seemed to be quickly defusing it. The tom's name was Marshpaw, and JasperStar dipped his head in greetings as he approached. "Hello Marshpaw. What brings you to the moor?" He was past the border, but as he hadn't hunted or stolen anything yet, JasperStar would let it slide until he figured out what the black tom was doing here.

  • Marshpaw

His attention was drawn to a tom, one he recognized from gatherings as Windclan's leader. Upon his question Marshpaw's eyes flickered over to Brightmoon hesitantly before returning back upon the leader, "I'd.. I'd like to join your clan, for a bit anyways."

  • We've got to hold on, to what we've got — JasperStar — WindClan —

Ears twitched at Marshpaw's request, and JasperStar considered what he said. From his scent the leader figured he was from RiverClan, a clan that he currently thought they were allies with, sort of. A RiverClan apprentice wanted to join WindClan though? JasperStar wondered why, but that probably wouldn't be a question answered truthfully. "I suppose that's possible." He meowed, not one to turn away cats. At least those we can trust... "How long do you think you'll be staying for?"

  • she purred with happiness at marshpaw's response, she stood quickly on her dainty paws, but quickly swayed a little from exhaustion and what seemed to be a head rush. she hadn't been feeling well the last couple of days, but she refused to be apart of the sickness. so she ignored or shortened appetite and tried making excuses for her longer naps through out the days, saying she was just enjoying the laziness of being a queen while it lasted.

"i'm so excited to see you around more marshpaw! if you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to come to me. also, if a young tortoiseshell kit bothers you, just send her back my way." she softly laughed with her own words, covering up the slight pain she fell on the back of her neck. she stood next to jasperstar and waved her tail happily in the air, excited to have a new clanmate.

  • RABBITKIT

Rabbitkit had followed her mother as she went out of the camp. She figured that as long as she stayed close that she wouldn't get in trouble. It helped that it was greenleaf because she had all this tall grass to hide in. When they ran into a Riverclan cat, though, she started to get excited. A cat from another clan! She had so many questions she wanted to ask him, but she felt that if she revealed herself, he might be scared away. When Jasperstar appeared, she stayed very still and quiet. He passed without noticing her and she felt super proud that she could hide so well. Being small helped sometimes! But when the Riverclan cat, Marshpaw, said he'd stay, she couldn't contain herself any longer. She hopped up and started bombarding him, "Yay! You're joining! This is gonna be so much fun! I have so many questions! What is Riverclan like? How do you catch fish? How do you swim? What does fish taste like? Why do you like to swim? What is the territory like? Are there any cool spots to go there?"

  • Marshpaw

His eyes widen in surpise as he was attacked with questions by a kit, he probably would've answered if he knew what she was saying. She was running through one question after the next and he couldn't keep up so he looked at Brightmoon, "This tortie?" Marshpaw asked while withholding a laugh.

  • she nodded, stepping forward and curling her tail around her daughter. "this is rabbitkit." she leaned down towards her daughter and whispered, "darling, slow down with your questions a little." she purred and straightened up. "rabbitkit, why don't you lead the way back to camp. i'm sure marshpaw would like to rest and meet the clan." she unwrapped her tail from her daughter, the lithe she-cat standing and touching her nose to her precious daughter's head. "i think it's nap time for you."

  • RABBITKIT

Rabbitkit looked a bit embarrassed at her barrage of questions when her mother mentioned it. She should've known that was too fast, but she was just so excited! And when Brightmoon suggested that she lead the way back to camp, she was ecstatic. "Yes! I can do that! Come on Marshpaw! I'll show you where camp is! You're gonna love it! Everyone is so nice! And there's plenty of room to run!" She started off in the direction of camp, not even noticing that her mother had said something else.
