Danger Nights:
The blue sky alofted out of the midst of the cannibalistic darkness, straying toward the greyhound that was our apocalyptic outpost. A swift but soft breeze coursed out of the caligature, impacting with its surroundings and rippling through the outpost. Bundles of almost dead grass swayed from side to side as the wind hit, but nonetheless stood its ground like feeble amounts of hay. In the distance, beyond the rusty old trees, a groan stifled out of a newcomers mouth as they dealt with a stab wound to the side. Behind them, a ragged up being with blood covering its face advanced upon its prey, certain the newcomer was too distracted to pose a threat.
Before the infected could reach the newcomer, a shot rang out and the zombie dropped dead quite instantly, as the shot was spot on. Some laughter spouted out as the newcomer jumped out, but it was strained. Water was scarce here, and now there was another mouth to feed- Another mouth to protect.
“What's your name?” I asked the newcomer plainly, ignoring the stab wound, reaching out my hand to shake theirs and help them up.
