✧・゚: * Though only halfway through her kithood, Firekit was ready to become an apprentice. Sitting around in camp for days on end with only a few games to play was no fun, especially under the watchful eyes of Brightcreek and Maplefall to assure themselves that she and Foxkit didn't cause any trouble. Yet, the kitten longed to explore the territory, to hunt, to train in the battle grounds with the other warriors and apprentices. Yet here she was, curled up in her family's little nest in the nursery, with only a game of mossball to look forward to later, if anyone even wanted to play with her.
The young she-kit stood and shook out her thick pelt to clear away the moss and grass that might cling to her ginger fur after a long night's rest. It was early in the morning, usually the time where the apprentices and their mentors would head out for morning patrols or training. Firekit liked to watch them, pretending that at any moment, her own mentor would call for her, ready to go do something exciting. "Firepaw," she could practically hear it now. "Today we will be hunting rabbits on the moors." Oh, that glorious day could not come soon enough! The kitten bounced on her paws as she sat outside of the nursery, big amber eyes beholding the camp in wonder. Maybe today, something exciting would happen.
