    โœ— Haru โœ—

    Age: 18

Personality/Brief Info: This guy is rather laid-back and usually rather calm and relaxed. Therefore making him seem rather disinterested with people and their personal lives, not to mention his means of education. Although, he is indeed rather intelligent and for a guy who doesn't even try, he tends to get most of the highest scores in the class. He plays a lot of sport, and even occasionally plays a guitar by himself. However, although he seems like the perfect guy.

    He.. HATES.. Animals.

To him, they're a waste of time and air and something he would never want to work with, let alone be bothered to think about. This was enforced at an early age by his parents who are professional business workers, making him seem to have a lot of fortune and planned route for his career's future.

No wonder the whole school likes him for his lifestyle, as well as his interesting personality that can be both mysterious, and charming. Not to mention his rather decent appearance that tends to grab the attention he dislikes most of the time.

Additional information: He also knows how to drive, though he drives often due to his slight laziness in his free time.

  • (I'll start!)

    Another day, another dollar.

As she walked through the entrance of her secondary school, Eva stretched her arms and felt many bones crack in her arms.

Her backpack was resting onto her sore, tired shoulders, her snow coloured hair falling over her shoulders.

Her uniform was clean, but her knees were cut and bruised, plasters covering them.

From a distance, it was obvious she was a wild child.

However, Eva didn't care about the looks she received and merely bounded to her tutor.

When she arrived in her seat, she carelessly dropped her backpack, which was adorned in animal pins, to the ground.

As usual, she heard snickers from the other side of the room but ignored them, instead focusing on new cuts on her arms from her volunteer work.

  • A lot later, just as the bell was ringing, a particular male had wandered into the classroom, half of his bag hanging from his shoulder as he walked with with his usual monotonous expression. "Hey! Haru, seems you just made it!" A classmate said.

"Huh.. Yeah seems so." The male in question stated as he placed himself down rather effortlessly on his seat with his back sliding off his shoulder and slumping on the floor. Of course, not much was in the bag as he felt as though he didn't need it.

The tutor by this point had come in and decided to start the lesson.

Although since he wasn't caring for the lesson, Haru found himself glancing around and spotted a lot of activity and rumours spreading across the students. Not that he cared, but it distracted him from-

"Haru. Can you read out this line for me in English? Since you so kindly were to ignore."

The male stood, reading it perfectly before seating himself. It was needless to say that the teacher didn't need to ask him many more questions.

    Yep.. A normal day.

That was until a particular lunch time came about.

  • At lunch, Eva would have usually been in her normal spot with her few friends, but this time, she wasn't.

Instead, she was outside by a small alleyway to the side of the school.

It wasn't easily found, and the only way Eva was able to find it was due to the small cries of a distressed animal.

Her animal senses had kicked in and she rushed straight towards the noise.

There, she found a small black kitten, with dazzling bluey-green eyes. From the colour of them, she was able to tell that the kitten was very young.

On his chest was a small patch of white.

    A beautiful creature.

After doing a quick check, she discovered that it was a boy.

The damp, rundown box he was sitting in looked very sorry for itself, almost as much as the kitten did.

Her animal-loving heart immediately went to the kitten and she picked it up, despite it being muddy.

"Poor baby." She whispered to him, comforting him in any way she could.

Looking down at her now dirty uniform, she sighed knowing people would say something.

But the health of the kitten mattered a little more than the state of the uniform.

  • By this point, Haru and his mates were approaching that particular area. But Haru was quick to sit under the shade of a tree with little to no effort in seeing what the guys were talking about.

"Look.. It's that nerd... With a cat and a muddy box. Geez, can't she just leave? I wanted to have a smoke here."

"Perhaps we can get her to leave..?"

    "Yeah."

    ___________________

With not much time wasted due to their need for nicotine rushing through them, the males were soon at the entrance.

"Oi, get your sad, nerdy a** outta here? We wanna smoke. And you with your little plaything are gettin' annoying." One male said. The other, already lit up his cigarette and blew the smoke into her general area.

When there was no response at first, the male moved forwards, beginning push her. "Ya hear me? Oi!"

His hand lifted and he was going to move it towards her and the box before.

A hand moved forwards, grabbing the males and holding it up.

The hand that did this belonged to..

    Haru.

    "Hu? What're you doing?"

"You're making so much noise. Shut up." Haru sighed. "Plus, picking on others because of your cr*ppy tastes isn't worth it." He said lazily once more. But as he gazed to the girl and the box, seeing a cat, he seemed rather cold and disgusted. Definitely the quickest personality change you could ever see.

"Best you just get that flea bag and yourself out. Don't want trouble.. Nor animals here." He sighed.

  • Eva quickly zipped a hoodie she was wearing, placing the small kitten in there to keep it warm.

She also took the box, before standing up.

In appreciation, she bowed to Haru as a thanks, before turning away from them all.

But before she left completely, she stole the teens' cigarette, and put it in a nearby bin.

"His name is not fleabag, itโ€™s Loki." She spat, before walking away.

She usually wouldnโ€™t have bothered responding to bullies, but when animals came into the arguement, she would be quick to intervene.

She wasnโ€™t scared of them, they were merely an irritation to her.

She looked down to the kitten hiding in her hoodie, gently stroking his head. Loki looked up to her with his dreamy eyes, letting out a tiny meow.

    Eva smiled to him.

Skipping last class would be fine.

"Come on little guy, lets get you home."

    With that, she left school.

  • Haru barely recognised that she wasn't in the classroom for the rest of the day, and was transfixed in his own little world instead. And as the day had ended, he was soon wandering over to his car, before getting inside with little to no effort in doing so. Yet he still held formality and grace at the same time.

Before long, he took off, driving down the street to head to his home.

  • As soon as she got home, Eva introduced Loki to her parents, who were a little disappointed that she skipped school, but were happy to see the new kitten.

The kitten was given a gentle bath, along with Evaโ€™s uniform, and was dried.

Deciding that Loki had an emotional attachment to his box, which was miles too big for him, it was also gently dried and a new blanket was placed into it, along with an alpaca toy.

Loki settled in straight away and seemed extremely fond of the whole family.

But Eva soon had to get ready for work, and changed into her uniform, which consisted of black jeans, black converses and a red top with the Pet shop logo on it, and Evaโ€™s name on the back.

After having a friendly goodbye to her parents, along with her pets, she set off.

But on the way, she stopped some familiar teens who wronged her at school.

    She shuffled past them quickly.

  • "Hm... Brat." One said. But the man who originally had cigarettes was soon grabbing the back of her shirt and pulling her towards him. "Seems you owe me a fag you b*tch." He said, blowing smoke into her face from the cigarette he had in his mouth already.

"And maybe a punch or two."

    "Hey, hey. Bit much dude."

"Too f*cking bad ain't it. What're you gonna do about it?" He snapped to the girl.

"Apart from cry into a f*cking cardboard box with a little runt in'it."

    *HONK HONK*

The male suddenly let go and fell onto the ground in shock, only to see the tinted window roll down and reveal..

    "Haru?! mate, What the hell?!"

The guy glanced at Eva and then to the guys. "She owes you jack sh*t mate. It was a cigarette. Get over it... I'll buy you one if you need it.." He sighed in boredom. "You lot get too angry easily."

"Oi, Haru you ain't addicted to it mate, how would you-"

The male stopped talking as Haru gave him a cold, but unfazed look that showed he couldn't care less. A usual of him."

"Fine. We'll talk about this alter b*tch." He said before leaving.

    ...........

"Get in." Haru said with a heavy sigh. "Your workplace is quite far from here right? You'll be late otherwise." He murmured.

    "It's on my way anyway."

  • After watching the males leave, Eva turned to look at the car.

She coughed slightly, the cigarette smoke affecting her asthma.

She stood up, brushing herself off.

She coughed again before walking to the side of the car.

"If you kidnap me, then do it after work." She said, getting into the car and fastening up her seatbelt.

She looked to her lap, lightly coughing again.

She was silent for a few minutes, as Haru pulled away from the curb and started driving.

"Thanks for saving me again." She said quietly, somewhat shameful that she let herself be bullied in the first place.

"And for driving me to work....." she added.

Despite being the owner of many animals, she smelt rather nice, and was a very hygienic person.

  • Haru shrugged. "It's no problem. Just seems to be whenever I'm about it happens." He stated, turning a corner smoothly and continuing down the road and nearing her place for work.

"Kidnapping is too much of a pain. Besides, I have things to do." He murmured. Only to concentrate on a few bits of the road.

"Sorry about those guys though. They seems to see no sense." The male sighed. "I wonder why I'm around them sometimes."

  • Eva hummed in agreement, fiddling with her thumbs.

    She coughed again.

"I didnโ€™t even do anything wrong, just save a life."

She thought about Loki, and it made her smile.

    She then remembered school.

"Were we set any homework by Mr Genevieve?" She questioned lightly.

Sure she sometimes skipped classes, but she was a good student and always handed her work in on time.

    Eva coughed harshly.

  • Haru didn't reply to her first comment. The later was one in which he bothered to respond to. "Well, he gave us an essay to write. A small one of course. I have the copy in the book that's behind your seat." He murmured, soon getting near the workplace. He cringed at the sight of it being an animal-based place. "Not that it is anything interesting. Putting in effort for it feels like a waste of time and energy." He glanced outside once more.

"Well, this is where I shall drop you off then. Have fun with... Whatever cr*ppy stuff you have to do with them." He shrugged.

  • Eva unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the car door, before turning to Haru.

"Thanks for the lift!" She said with a bright smile, but hopping out of the car and closing the door.

She sent a final wave to him before walking into the large pet store.

She instantly greeted her collages before getting straight to work.

She cleaned pens, filled food and water dishes, played with some of the animals, and most importantly helped people buy new pets.

By the time her shift was over, it was 10:30pm and she started to walk home.

It was a dark night, with only few street lamps on.

She was in the middle of her own thoughts, when suddenly a hard punch hit her arm.

  • As the girl turned, a familiar male stood there with another lit cigarette in his mouth.. With now a lesser amount of guys around him, but with some girls being thrown into the mix.

"If it isn't the b*tch." He spat with intimidation in his eyes, only to chuckle and get support from the rest.

"Heard ya got a lift from Haru?.." A girl said, getting close to her and looking her up and down. She smelt like alcohol and drugs it seemed. "Don't know why he wastes time of a piece of sh*t.." She sighed, only to tilt her head.

"Ahh you're only jealous Bianca..." A guy said. The girl turned, flicking her hair in Eva's face.

"Aww.. Not for a lowlife like her. Sleeping with animal n' sh*t. Fortunately not the guy sort. Don't THAT would ever happen." She chuckled, soon pushing past her to go to her other girlfriends.

The guy who punched her did it again in the same spot. "Ya just gonna stand there? Not gonna look down f*cking drains like you usually do because your just as mangy as the rest of 'em? Huh? HUH?" He soon pushed her onto the ground, rolling his shoulders with a cold grin. His mates blew smoke around her whilst the girls laughed.

"Such a pointless b*tch!" They commented, with many more words that they'd love to throw in.

    *RING, RING*

    "Yo Haru! You coming then?!"

    ......

"Huh? What?! Again! Come on you wuss!! I'm pickin' a good fight here!"

"No you ain't, you just messing with this puny b*tch who thinks she is one with the animals." Another mate mocked.

    ......

"Huh? Yeah, the animal kid, why?"

    .......

"Yeah! She p*ssed me off! What's it to you?.."

    ..

"Haha, yeh bud I get ya. Last time I almost got nicked."

    ............

"A'right, a'right, speak soon mate, bye."

    .....

    "Huh?.. Alright might try there."

    "See ya."

Once the call was over, the male placed his phone in his pocket. "Our mate suggested a good pub open. We're gonna go get p*ssed for a bit. See ya later mingin' rat." He stated before continuing down the street.

And so.. Eva was left in the street to walk home.

    Alone.

At least, that was how it seemed for a while, before a figure wandered out from a rather posh business building. One belonging to a certain male's family.

"Hm?.. Wow.. Talk about stupid coincidences."

Haru... Who seemed to be in a casual formal attire with headphones in.

  • Eva didn't say anything.

Her head was down, her hair hiding her face.

Her arm was hunched up slightly, with the fist clenched tightly.

In her other arm was her work bag.

She had dirt all over her jeans and some on her back.

    Eva just kept on walking.

  • As she approached, wandering past, Haru's eyes widened. He was quick to move forward and hold her shoulder, turning her around. "Oi. Stay still a sec." He murmured. "That idiot.." The male sighed as he noticed her appearance. His gaze met hers for a moment before casting to the side.

"Want me to drive you back? Grab some food maybe?.. Would be bad to leave you on your own." He murmured.
