  • WE JUST WANNA FEEL SOMETHING —

it had been five moons since daisypaw left darkclan, five long moons of...nothing much, really. the rest of the world was just as dull as darkclan was, and she still hadn't done anything she set out to. never found love, never made friends, never found anything she was very good at. she was 13 moons now and still hadn't achieved warrior status.

she had a feeling though, that the time was fast approaching when she would receive her warrior name in skyclan. she would never be a spectacular fighter or hunter, but she was decent enough. she was diplomatic, and tried hard enough to stay active within the clan. besides, she was no longer the twiggy child she once was. she'd filled out her frame, and stood much taller than she had five moons ago. obviously an adult. she wouldn't remain an apprentice for much longer, that was for sure.

before she took on the responsibility of being a warrior, the cream she-cat was compelled to journey back to her birth clan once more. other cats might do it because they missed their families. daisypaw sure didn't miss hers. she wasn't even sure she loved them. her visit felt more like an obligation, a chore. after skipping every gathering since leaving in the fear of seeing a darkclanner ever again, she may very well be assumed dead, so she supposed she should confirm that she was, in fact, alive. hell, would anyone even remember her? no one here ever seemed to care about her anyway. she still decided to go, on the off chance there was someone here who missed her.

boy, was it a long journey. daisypaw arrived on the border, legs so sore from climbing they felt like they would fall off. it was much colder in the mountains than down in the valley; she didn't miss the temperature at all. her pale fur fluffed out and icy gaze squinted against the chilly wind as she sat down, waiting impatiently for someone to come find her. she was already miserable.

    "d-daisypaw?"

a voice broke the silence in the air as an orange creampuff approached the cream.

since her last appearance, dreampaws changed a lot. a scar lined her forehead, across her eye, and to the middle of her cheek. her jaw was misaligned, her teeth showing over her right side of her lip. on the same side as her facial scar, she held a deep scar on her shoulder. her appearance was much fluffier, and obvious signs of fatigue filled her slimming face.

since she last saw daisypaw, the smart tongued girl had matured slightly, having kits that she had to make sure grew up right. but feeling like she lost her sister, her brother, her best friend, and her son, she had given up on her own health, focusing on others.

she broke the distance, running up and pulling her sister close with a hug.

dreampaw had never before hugged her siblings, so the new feeling almost made her burst into tears. except, she remained neutral, pulling away with a soft smile.

" ya worried the crap outta me an' mother , an' e'ryone else! where'd ya go?" she had thought her sister had died, except her body was never found. off of that, and discovering her fsather, thought also the idea she was in shadowclan. "ah, it been far too long, how're ya?"

  • WE JUST WANNA FEEL SOMETHING —

finally, someone was here. it was about time; the skyclanner’s snow-colored paws were beginning to feel as cold as they looked. her heart skipped a beat when she saw who it was. could it be...?

“dreampaw!” she meowed excitedly as she waited for her sister to run over. shock took over excitement as she was able to see her more closely; scarred and disfigured, dreampaw’s appearance broke her heart. daisypaw’s appearance has changed too, but she had grown naturally. since leaving darkclan she’d lived quite a peaceful life, and had not one scar to speak of. what had happened while she was gone?

she could have cried too. this reunion was long overdue, evident in dreampaw’s reaction to seeing her again. she was never so affectionate. at the moment of the embrace, however, daisypaw’s ability to feel emotion was lost again. they’d had their connection. she was back. back to familiarity, back to the past where nothing was ever right in her life. who knew a touching moment could last such a short time?

the cream she-cat hesitated before pulling away, preparing to answer her sister’s inevitable questions. her whiskers twitched. that first one would take a lot of explaining. “lots o’ places. went to riverclan, then skyclan,” she answered concisely. it was the gist of it, at least. she couldn’t be bothered to elaborate, not with her extremities about to freeze off. she never did get used to the mountain weather. her right ear throbbed at the unfamiliar temperature, an echo of the infection that still had yet to heal, and daisypaw grimaced. “i’m cold.”

  • Twilightrise held very little respect for loners. Even less so for cats whom had willingly left the clan. Though it didn't specifically state in the code that one must always remain in their clan, it was a rather massive expectation. No better example of true disloyalty than literally leaving behind your friends and family - your duties and assistance - all for...for what? Why did cats do that? Twilightrise didn't understand. But what she DID know, was that she would not give any traitor special treatment.

"I'm afraid we can't help you with that," Twilightrise would say calmly, melting seemingly from Dreampaw's shadow to stand beside her. A living embodiment of a watchful guardian. Her mint icy hues stared down at Daisypaw. though they held about as much emotion as a frozen lake, there was no mistaking her lack of a warm welcome. "If that's all the buisness you have, I will politely ask you to please leave," she'd state, her eyes boring into Daisypaw's. She was a loner - a rogue - in Twi's eyes. Sibling to Dreampaw or not.

before daisypaw and dreampaw could continue their conversation, a different darkclanner came between them. this one had a personality colder than the weather. daisypaw frowned. she knew nobody here cared about her; that was why she left. there was no use in nurturing bonds which only left her lonelier. but twilightrise's words like daggers took her by surprise. she didn't realize cats actively disliked her. she was starting to question the legitimacy of dreampaw's words, if anyone in darkclan was ever truly worried about her at all.

the calmness in which she delivered her words made her sick; they were like honey-coated mousebile, sweet-sounding on the surface but hiding an obvious bitter fakeness underneath. it was the same way everyone else here had treated her. never outright hateful, but never loving, either. simply tolerant. icy blue eyes met the other's mint ones, narrowed in annoyance and perhaps even hatred. "that's not all the business i have here, as a matter of fact," she meowed coolly, voice wavering ever so slightly. "i actually didn't hike all the way up here just to tell y' i'm cold, believe it or not."
