My character

Watari
Age: Unknown Age
Gender: Male
Species: merman (no tail) He can't last without water for more than a couple hours, and he can breathe underwater
----
Watari was always a curious soul. The shore always called to him. He just wasn't aware that humans were out to catch his kind, so when he emerged from the water when it started to rain, a bunch of people panicked and took pictures with their weird devices. Instead of fleeing to the water he ran off, unused to running let alone walking on land. It was a bit harsh on his webbed feet, the sidewalk and coarse roads. He had forgotten about time, and eventually it became night, but he knew by now he was far from sea. This much water from the rain wasn't too good to breathe in, so he needed something fast. Noticing a blue body of liquid on the other side of a wooden fence, he climbed over, accidentally scraping his leg on the sharp top of the fence before making a splash into the pool. It was nice and cold. Like home.
