  • Elias looked at Day. “Yes, you put that very nicely...”

Yui crosses his arms. “I don’t wanna make peace with those guys! I wanna destroy them all!”

“Yui-“ Abby started but was cut off.

“They’re bad guys! They should all be hurt, like how they hurt us! I don’t wanna make peace with those guys ever again!”

Sayomi stepped in then, resting his hands on Yui’s shoulders. “That’s why you need to learn about this Yui. You need to learn about the peace, the wars. You need to learn about these things so when your older you have the knowledge to make the decision to fight or make peace. You need to learn how to use magic to defend yourself. You need to learn to read and write to record our history and pass it on to others so we arnt forgotten. Do you understand?”

Yui looked at all the adults, starting to feel a lot of pressure. “Okay... okay I’ll try to pay attention just... stop crowding me...” Sayomi backed off, but not before ruffling their hair.

“So, as long as you pay attention to your lessons Day will watch us show off magic. That’s what you two were saying right? We got a bit side tracked.” Though nobody was convinced this would really make Yui pay attention. They knew that they were just saying things to get the grown ups off his back.

Abby was silent for a moment before she burst out laughing. “You just admitted you show off!”

  • Day smiled, though she didn't laugh, still feeling tense. She was out of the loop and confused, unsure of how to really ask these questions with charging the situation again, eventually just opting instead to start eating her sandwich.

  • They all sat down to eat. It was a little awkward but they tried to joke around again to break the tension. Yui put down his sandwich and got up, not finishing it and just going outside.

Sayomi watched him go. “Aw Jeez... they seem upset... should I go talk to them?”

“Just leave them alone. They’re a kid they’ll bounce back.” Elias murmured, waving it off.

Abby shook her head. “I don’t know about that... but maybe they do need some space...”

  • Day watched Yui leave with a look of worry on her face. "... Should I have stayed out of it?" She asked quietly, biting her lip as she now glanced around at the others, starting to feel guilty and even more out of place. "... I know I'm not the most welcome here, and I shouldn't keep butting myself into everything... I-I just want to help all of you..."

  • Elias shook his head. “Well I agreed with your plan. That child is just...”

“It’s fine. You were just trying to help. Yui, like the rest of us, has some... history. But for him it wasn’t with humans...”

Abby turned to Sayomi, concerned. “Should you be telling a human all this?” Sayomi just waver it off like it was no big deal.

  • Day looked to Abby as she asked this, almost looking like she was hurt. "I'm not of any danger to any of you... I don't care what you do and don't tell me, you're all still people, and you deserve to be treated as such. I don't want to hurt anyone, and I'm not one to just tell secrets to the world." She mumbled. She felt as though she was being generalized with the people who had been so distrustful and hurtful to them before, and she didn't want to be seen that way.

  • Abby glanced away. “Well... it’s not like I think your going to hurt us. It’s more like, your not like us. This isn’t your concern. I just don’t think we should concern somebody whose not involved with our problems.” Abby tried her best to explain.

Sayomi smiled, trying to help with the tension a bit. “There’s no harm in telling her. It’s fine. Maybe this conversation is too heavy anyway. We can try to get through to Yui later.”

    The atmosphere was too awkward.

“Um... I know! Trinity hasn’t eaten yet! Day, how about you bring her the rest of Yui’s sandwich? She’s currently in the basement.”

  • Sayomi pointed to a door right outside the kitchen. “She’s right down there. Watch your step, it’s a little dark even with the lights.”

The others knew why he wanted her out of the way, so he could talk to them about being so rude to her: Elias gave a sigh of annoyance, not looking forward to that.

  • Day nodded, not saying another word before taking the sandwich with her and descending into the basement, being careful not to fall down the steps. "Hello? Trinity? Are you down here? I brought you something to eat!"

  • There was a tiny gasp and the sound of something being knocked over. She slowly came out from behind a curtain, watching her cautiously from a safe distance before judging it safe to come close, hesitantly taking the plate from her. With her free hand she signed something at Day but realized that she probably couldn’t understand. She panicked a minute before hurrying over to a desk and setting the plate down. She then picked up a notepad and pen, flipping to the next page and scribbling something down. Holding out the notepad it said ‘thank you’.

  • Day gasped at the other's seemingly frantic behavior, giving a small smile however at the written note of thank you before seeming a bit embarrassed. "I-I'm... Sorry if I scared you... Sayomi told me to come down here and bring you some food, though I think he was just using it as an excuse to get me out of the way for a bit."

  • Trinity shook her head, writing on the note again. ‘It was only water.’

She eyed the wounds on Days body, noting that nothing changed.

‘Did my tonic not work?’ She asked, fidgeting a bit uncomfortably.

  • Day hesitated, seeming a bit nervous. "Um, I actually haven't... tried any of it yet. I'm a little hesitant. It's not common for us to drink any sort of blood, y-y'know?" She mumbled, fidgeting with her sleeves. They both seemed uncomfortable.

  • she nodded as if understanding.

‘It wasn’t always normal for us either. It took the others to get used to it.’ She admitted, looking away.

She seemed to hesitate with what she wrote next. ‘I don’t really like sharing it with humans. So I’m glad you didn’t drink it. Sorry.’

She looked nervous, as if afraid she’d be angry with her.

  • Day hesitated before giving a soft nod. "I-It's okay... To be honest, I'm.. Not sure what I'm doing here. I-I mean, with all of you anyway... I want to help, but I'm obviously not like any of you, and that makes me kind of... Unwelcome, I guess? But... If I go back home, I'm just going to end up getting more and more beat up like this." She mumbled. She didn't know why she was letting all of this out to this one girl. Something about her own shyness made her feel as though they would have more of a connection, but she knew that most likely wasn't the case... She just needed to say something to someone about how she felt.

  • Trinity panicked, not sure what to do with this stranger getting all emotional in her lab.

She took her hand, taking her behind the curtain, past a chemistry set, and sat her down on a beanbag chair. Then she disappeared for a moment and returned with a glass of water, handing it to her.

‘I’m sorry that happened to you.’ She wrote, looking away from her.

‘I’m sorry I said that before. I hope you can understand. Humans make me anxious. I was also hurt, like you.’

She wasn’t sure what else to say or how to make it better. She just knew that this girl couldn’t go home.

‘If you need to get away from the others your welcome down here. Just don’t drink anything.’

  • Day looked up to Trinity in surprise as the other sat her down and brought her water, reading her words before giving a small nod. "O-Okay... Thank you, Trinity. I promise I'll only drink what you give me." She replied, sipping at the water she was given and seeming to relax somewhat, sighing and seeming to relax a bit in the beanbag, growing silent.

  • Trinity sat down on the floor next to her, scribbling onto the notepad again.

‘Truthfully, Sayomi is always bringing ladies home. So the others probably just assumed the same as me...’ she looked uncomfortable, like she wasn’t sure she should be sharing this information.

‘I just thought you were his new

    you know.’

  • Day read these words and a dark blush came to her cheeks as she looked up to Trinity, surprised. "W-Wait, you mean... E-Everybody thought that he was bringing me here t-to... To sleep with?" She asked quietly, not sure what to think. She was hoping that this would be a correct assumption, and she wasn't here on a more unthinkable impression.
