  • I WANT THE APPLAUSE, THE APPROVAL

    GENERAL

    NAME pallidpaw

    —— nicknames: pallid, pale

—— name origin: pallidpaw's fur is a light brown grey as well as white in some places.

    AGE 7 months

—— aging rate: ages with littermates

    GENDER female

    —— preferred pronouns: she/her

    CLAN riverclan

    —— rank: apprentice

    APPEARANCE

    SPECIES domestic feline

    —— breed: abyssinian

DESCRIPTION pallidpaw suits her name well. her fur is the pale brown grey of dirty smoke, giving way to a pristine white at her muzzle, chest, underside, the insides of her limbs and tail, and her paws. her eyes, however, are the dark ochre of rich honey; something like accusation gleams in those amber eyes, and it is unnerving.

yet, everything else about her is absolutely unthreatening. glance at palepaw, and the word 'fragile' comes to mind. paper-thin ears cresting her delicate head and dainty paws moving with a frail irregularity, it is something tangible that suggests, at any moment, she might just break.

—— size and build: small, delicate, and frail

    —— fur colour: pale brown-grey

    —— fur length: medium

—— fur markings: white muzzle, chest, underside, insides of limbs and tail, and paws

    —— eye colour: dark amber

SCENT new paper and very faintly of petrichor

    PERSONALITY

DESCRIPTION pallidpaw is... forgettable. often it seems she doesn't have any personality of her own, instead choosing to pick the parts from others' personalities that most appeal to her. the she-cat is the type to conform - to accept and obey without question.

though obedient - perhaps overly so - by no means is pallidpaw naïve. she simply dislikes conflict of any type, and tries not be an instigator or an inconvenience. in fact, she often shows signs of intelligence; the she-cat likes to think of herself as a problem-solver, and is adaptable as well as resourceful.

as guileless as she seems, pallidpaw is surprisingly sly. though she tries to avoid deceit and trickery, she is creative, so to speak, about the means she uses to bring about an end. it may seem the she-cat has strong morals - this is only in the presence of an authority. if left to her own devices, pallidpaw is happy to dismiss the concept of morality altogether.

though pallidpaw comes off as unassuming - meek, even - she can be very charismatic when she wants to. her soft, girlish voice is an excellent medium for flattery, and she makes great use of this. however, this is not to say pallidpaw is unsusceptible to insincerity herself. the she-cat practically lives for praise.

—— positive traits: intelligent, problem solver, adaptable, resourceful, charismatic

—— neutral traits: conforming, obedient, seemingly guileless, amoral, unassuming

—— negative traits: imitative, insecure, sly, insincere, dependent

  • to be, or not to be: that is the question: whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing end them? to die: to sleep; no more; and by a sleep to say we end the heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to, ‘tis a consummation devoutly to be wish’d. to die, to sleep; to sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub;

for in that sleep of death what dreams may come when we have shuffled off this mortal coil, must give us pause: there’s the respect that makes calamity of so long life; for who would bear the whips and scorns of time, the oppressor’s wrong, the proud man’s contumely, the pangs of despised love, the law’s delay, the insolence of office and the spurns that patient merit of the unworthy takes, when he himself might his quietus make with a bare bodkin?

who would fardels bear, to grunt and sweat under a weary life, but that the dread of something after death, the undiscover’d country from whose bourn no traveller returns, puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have than fly to others that we know not of? thus conscience does make cowards of us all; and thus the native hue of resolution is sicklied o’er with the pale cast of thought, and enterprises of great pith and moment with this regard their currents turn awry, and lose the name of action. soft you now! the fair ophelia! nymph, in thy orisons "be all my sins remember'd."

His eyes glanced over the young feline, thinking nothing of it, treating her as if she was some other clan cat, unrelated to him. But he glanced again, heart beginning to pound as he stood, stepping forward quickly before stopping himself. "pale" He whispered softly, unable to keep his eyes from watering. He hadn't seen her in so long and it was because of that, emotions over came him. He loved her so much. In fact, he loved all his kids so much.

Palepaw, while relieved, almost warm, held back. They all knew what decisions had been made, and Doestar found a sort of gratitude toward their loyalty to RiverClan.

"Hey." She greeted airily, offering a smile to the nervous looking stranger. She looked to be about Tempest's age, perhaps slightly younger, but her eyes were a lot darker than Tempest's own pale blue ones. Maybe we could be friends, the tabby mused with a twitch of her long whiskers.

Palepaw had been there when she joined, and seemed to show up everywhere that Tempestpaw went. She didn't mind it of course, the ashen-furred apprentice had been kind since the start and Tempestpaw appreciated the company; but it was always a small, pleasant surprise to see the dark eyes that were slowly growing familiar.
