    "If you had needed me, I would have known." He looked her over, she hadn't changed as drastically as some of the other newly turned vampires, her skin was just a shade paler. "I'm going to give you another option, return to court life for a time, if your son dies Edward will have to take a new wife to have a heir, you will simply be divorced and forced to leave court, and I'm sure whom ever he takes as a wife will want your children gone with you." He knew the pregnancy had been rough on both the mother and child and it wouldn't be a surprise if the boy didn't make it either.

    "No. I want him to think I'm dead. I will take the girls when no one looks"she replied "once the years pass and he grow s weak and his new wife dies..I will come back to finish him off myself"Shen grinned some at the thoughts. "I will make sure he pays for his mistakes"

    "Fair enough." Nicolai replied, watching her curiously. "Tonight then, I will go and get the girls for you." He stated, he knew his way around the corridors of the castle better than anyone in the dark, having spent much of his time hunting inside the walls of the castle. He found something just so satisfying about feeding off the blood of the nobles.

    "Thank you"she gave him a kiss before reason once more in thought. She hoped, prayed that her son would be raised better. She would teach him somehow when he was older on how to respect women and be faithful. She blinked as she zoned in "how are you feeling nicolai?"

    "I am fine, you should rest, you will feel the drain of the sun for sometime even when you're in the dark." He suggested to her, knowing it was starting to come up and it could be rather bothersome.

    "Goodnight Esmeralda." He said, he watched her walk into the darkened room, before turning to go to his own.

    The next night he woke her up, once again presenting her with a meal, he had already eaten. This time though he said "I want you to keep him alive, so pay attention to his heartbeat while you feed." He wanted to be able to send him back home, he would compell him and heal his bite marks.

    Esmeralda felt bad but she bit into him and began at a steady pace. Trying her best to stop. So good! When it began to slow a little she pulled away and wiped her mouth "thank you.."she whispered feeling guilty. She blinked away her tears

    "Don't cry, the price of eternal life is the ability to take a life and to know when spare that life." He said his voice calming, as he took the man away from her he compelled him to forget what had happened.

    She sighed gently as she curled up and hugged her knees to her chest. She was lost in this new world. She didn't feel love at all, she felt broken and scared. She bit her lip. "Im sorry to burden you Nicolai."

    "You are not a burden." He replied taking a step towards her, holding a hand out he said "Come with me tonight, I will show you that you are not someone's frail woman any longer." He wanted the vibrant girl back that he had met the first night in court, the one who desired the respect and power that came with the throne.

    "Out into the night." He smiled at her as he walked them out of his home. The night air cool and crisp, would have bothered a human, but for them it was refreshing. Still holding her hand he pulled her into a run that seemed like a flash, and they were suddenly standing on the outskirts of a town. Pressing his finger to her lips before she could speak, he said "Listen, you can hear the sounds of the people getting ready for their night."

    She had followed steadily before she listened, it was weird to be on the outside now looking in. She smiled a little "Its rather nice.."She replied almost in a whisper. She pushed the hair out of her face.

    "I feel horrible for you"She chuckled "To hear of what me and Edward used to do before he forced it on me."She kept a hold of his hand still. Liking this.It was a peace she hadn't felt before, no public appearances. No wifely duties. She took the wedding ring off and threw it into the town.

    Nicolai smiled at her, he wasn't going to tell her he was usually preoccupied with other things to be paying attention. You had to choose to listen, you heard the most when you were hunting for prey. "Are you feeling better then?" He questioned, hoping she was coming to terms with the decision she had made.

    "You are wanted, or else I wouldn't have given you the option to be turned or healed." Nicolai replied stepping closer to her, her hand still in his he brought it up to his lips and kissed her wrist. Smiling at her he added "You're technically undead, and you may not have a heartbeat anymore but you can be more alive than ever before, because now you no longer have anything to restrain you." He said referring to the fact that she no longer had to care what anyone thought of her, she wasn't going to be under constant scrutiny.
