  • OOC: okay so the idea of this is basically my rogue queen, milk, is drowning in the river and ultimately loses all her kits except one (which your character could save.) she then will go on to join riverclan, and look for a mate i guess

    IC:

Milk struggled against the current, tossed violently through the waters and barely able to keep her head above the surface. With no knowledge of how to swim, her and her kits woul surely drown. She kicked desperately to keep afloat, eyes searching desperately for any flashes of calico fur among the waters. She mewed desperately, hoping her kits would hear her, or at least any cats nearby. Her dense white fur was dragging her down, logged with water. Spotting two of her kits swirl past her, she struggled desperately toward them with all of the energy she had left.

  • oh no! cats were drowning! daisypaw didn't recognize them as riverclan, but that didn't matter much to someone like her. they were cats, and that's why she had to do something! the cream apprentice clambered down the riverbank, or what was left of it, downstream of the strangers swirling in its depths so they'd be carried in her direction. ooh, daisypaw wasn't a good swimmer. she shuffled her paws anxiously, hoping the cats would be carried closer to she shore so she could reach out and grab them without getting herself wet. that was wishful thinking, though.

one kit flew by her in a flash, gone forever. daisypaw was panicking now. "help! cats drowning!" she yelped suddenly. why hadn't she called for help in the first place? another kit was coming, but what could she do? if she jumped in, they'd both drown.

you idiot! you came back because you wanted to help! daisypaw wouldn't have come back to riverclan if she was sure they were doing alright. she'd come back on her ideals, hoping to repay her ex-clanmates for their kindness. but now that she had the chance to save someone, she was frozen in fear. "hnggnh..."

suddenly her body moved on its own and she jumped in the river with a loud splash. it was much harder to swim than she remembered; her body was knocked around by the waves, pulling her under. her paws worked furiously to bring herself back to the surface, and she almost headed back to shore. it was hard enough to save herself, let alone another cat! it must have been luck, or starclan, that brought one of the kits directly to her. now was her chance! the cream tabby craned her neck to grab the kit by its scruff, her whole body straining to keep both their heads above water. she was getting tired, and defeat was starting to settle in. death didn't sound like such a bad thing, anymore. if someone else didn't come soon...

The large she-cat had been out once again against her better judgement. This weather was definitely not good for finding prey other than the fish that seemed to be having a ball in the river. Her claws flexed in the almost soupy like ground that she could feel, mud oozing up between her toes and she couldn't help the disgusted expression that crept across her face, muzzle curling in utter contempt at the situation. Even now the rains bogged her down but she forced herself to ignore it, especially when she heard something. Lifting her head up Tigerstrike pulled her ears forward as the sounds filtered through torn audits that twitched. Screams, for help! Her breath caught in her throat and she wondered who would be so mouse brained as to be out here in this. Her reinforced claws dragged the ground as she propelled thickly muscled legs to carry her across toward the river, thick tail steaming behind her and the scene she arrived at was chilling. Daisypaw seemed to be struggling in the river with a kit and there was also what appeared to be a queen as well. Whatever else had been in the water previously was probably gone.

"You have got to be kidding me." The warrior hissed underneath her voice as she watched before she made a split second decision coiled her leg muscles. Springing with outstretched claws the former city feline aimed herself so that she would land with a hard splash closer to Daisypaw. She needed to help these two first and could only hope that the queen could stay up longer. Her paws churned in the torrential river and water surged up her nose but she huffed and steadfast reached with her open jaws to try and grasp Daisypaw by her scruff and move them closer to the shore even as water battered and rocked the both of them. Swimming with the current was easier and she allowed it yo sweep them up as she swam at an angle before large claws hit land and she tried to pull Daisypaw and her charge up into the sodden ground.

Panting harshly the warrior didn't have time to check as she turned and thrusted her way back into the violent waters. Her muscles were aching but she had to get that queen out or she may drown. "I'm coming! Just-just....hold on!" Her paws kicked and push as she swam, shoving against the water that swept around her. A sudden sharp push caused her side to slam up against a rock and she gritted her teeth as she shook off the pain of a laceration, reaching the queen and attempting to grab onto her scruff and fight the waves of water threatening to suffocate the both of them as she aimed to guide and tugg the queen back to more solid ground. Blood clearly swept up in the waters but currently the warrior paid no immediate attention to it.

  • just in time, tigerstrike came to both her and the kit's rescue. with the warrior's help, she was able to keep herself above water much better, and found a new strength in herself to keep going. her paws pumped harder than before, carrying herself to the shore with the tiny cat. she didn't have time to thank tigerstrike before she jumped back in.

soaking wet and shivering, daisypaw couldn't think very well. it was like the freezing river had frozen her thoughts as well as her body. she watched blankly as tigerstrike went back to help the queen, feeling a mix of admiration and envy at her strength. the cream apprentice had barely reached the kit in time, but tigerstrike had ended up rescuing the both of them.

oh! right. the kit. what was one supposed to do with a drowned kit, again? lick it? was that it? she had no idea what she was doing. she prodded the small cat with a paw and mewed a soft, "hello? you alive?" she hoped it was alive. that would've been a lot of hard work for nothing. and the others...the other kits had no chance of surviving. this one had to survive! they just couldn't all die!

  • Milk struggled through the strong tides of water until she felt strong teeth in her scruff, and felt exhaustion wash over her body as she was dragged to the shore. She pulled herself onto the bank as they grew closer, heaving herself onto the grass with her last bout of energy. she could barely speak, but nodded her head in thanks to the two warriors as she dragged herself toward her sodden kit. she barely recognised which of her children it was, with their fur stuck to their tiny sides and coated with mud. she watched as the smaller of the two warriors bent to lick her kit.

Truth be told the woman never felt so tired in her life. Okay maybe that was a lie considering her apprentice training had been a bit harsh as well. The warrior code constantly being beaten over her head until she understood what the heckle she had been going through at the time. She had to learn it anyway and recite it so that she wouldn't forget it which was fine and dandy but it still didn't make much sense to the auburn tomboy. Shaking her head a bit the female laid upon the ground, taking in large heaves of air as she breathed out harshly. Her striking liquid jade eyes were partially open as she flicked her tail against the ground and feeling blood lingering down her side from the cut that had been made when she had hit a rock a bit too harshly. Why didn't cats just avoid the river like normal felines? Why did she have to join a clan that was all about swimming in the stupid water? Pushing herself to her paws the scarred feline finally made her way over to the two, dragging her thick paws with tiredness as her shoulders sagged a bit but she wanted to make sure that both Daisypaw and this female was alright. Plus there was a bedraggled kit that needed to be looked after as well. "Hey, are you all alright? Daisypaw? The kit?" Her voice was a little hoarse but really that would be expected from almost drowning along with that Queen but by Starclan's grace they were allowed back onto dry or rather not so dry land.
