  • SARABI AIYSHA YAR'ADUA - SHE/HER - ELEVEN - WOLFHEART

The African girl introduced herself to the other people who entered the compartment car as well. Wow, this is alot of people, she thought. She felt nervous around this many people. She had always preferred animals to people. She bit the inside of her cheek, her bright demeanor obviously changing. She began to nervously twiddle her thumbs, her heart racing. She got crowded very easily. That's why she had always loved her home. It was full of space and the open plains. But being in America, it was so different. Her blue eyes glanced over at the boy beside her as he stuttered. She saw how shamed he was. She smiled softly at him, her blue eyes sparkling with reassurance. "It's alright. I used to have a stutter too." Sarabi said warmly, a soft smile on her pink lips. Sadie purred and leaned into the dark-haired boy's hand. Sadie meowed and twitched her nose. Sarabi turned her attention to Lucy as she spoke about her wand. She listened to her speak. She seemed to know alot about wands. Maybe it was a hobby of hers.

"Phoenix Feather." Sarabi admitted, crossing one leg over the other as it became very crowded for her. She felt as if it was stuffy in the compartment and she knew before the train ride was over, she'd need to get some air. She hated being confined into a small space.

    Allison Mary Watson --

    Melodies feel the breeze

The boy Malaki seemed awfully nice. He was cute too and Allison really liked his dark hair and smile. Moving to sit down, she let Ollie free to run around with the other animals. “I really like your name.” She had never heard something like it before and his accent seemed southern and really hired him and his whole demeanor. She could see that they were going to get along great. Lucinda was a bit odd. A little demanding but she seemed nice just pushy like the way she asked for the wand. Furrowing her brows in confusion, she shrugged and pulled the long stick out and handed towards the redhead. “What do you need our wands for?” As long as she didn’t break them she saw no reason to be rude and hold hers hostage. After all maybe she had a good explanation for the weird behavior. Her attention was caught by the other boy, her head tilting at the way he talked. It was almost adorable in a way and left her curious, and the other one was deaf it seems. So many unique people in one cart. So exciting! Turning back to Malaki she sat down next to the boy and shrugged. “I’m hoping to get into beartooth like my mother when she went to this school. What about you?” She never knew much about what her mom’s life was before they moved to England but her mom had always said that she had loved her school and now Allison wanted to be in the same house as her. Maybe someone there would have more information about who she was. Her attention was then caught by Kingston and she bit her lip. “You’re owl is really beautiful. May I pet it?”

Malaki's ears turned pink when Allison said that she liked his name. He wasn't exactly sure what to say in response to that. His whole family had odd names.

When she told him she wanted to be a Beartooth, he tried to remember what exactly that house stood for. Their mascot was a bear, obviously. He wondered which house he would be sorted into, not that it mattered much to him. He would be happy with any of the houses.

Glancing back at the window, Malaki began to think about how little he knew of the wizarding world. He thought he'd be the worst in the class because he didn't know anything.

Looking to the people in the compartment, he decided that at least he'd have his friends. Or at least, he hoped they would stay his friends.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. A woman with dimples and curly gray hair slid open the door and gestured toward her cart of candies. "Anything off the cart, dears?"

Malaki, who had been too nervous to eat breakfast, almost leapt to his feet. "Do you have Twix bars?"

The elderly woman chuckled and said, "No, but I do have loads of other candies. Drooble's Best Blowing Gum, Pumpkin Pastries, Cauldron Cakes-"

"I'll take a Pumpkin Pastry, please." Malaki said before reaching into his pocket for some coin. The professor from before had helped him trade in his saved up allowance for wizarding money.

The lady nodded, took the coin, and handed the boy his pastry.

Malaki took one bite and his eyes lit up like christmas lights. "Delicious!"

He never would have thought that wizard sweets would taste better than his favorite muggle candy.

Tuning back toward Allison, he told her, "Well, you can try to pet him. Just don't wake him up."

The young wizard then opened the door to Kingston's cage.

Lucinda smiled thinly when she told her the core of her wand. "Ah, I see. Makes sense. It is a rare core type and its allegiance is not easily won. Very picky about who they choose, which means you are a lucky one. I could only dram of having it as a core. Though I wouldn't trade the wand I have now for anything."

The young witch went quiet when Allison asked why she needed to see her wand. She was now a bit embarrassed about her obessio- hobby.

Taking the wand from Allison, she told her, "Your wand tells more about you than you know." That was her vague answer.

Looking back to the wand, she cleared her throat before stating, "It is clearly a vine wood. Those are less common than most woods and mre often than not they seek witches and wizards with a higher purpose. I am intrigued to see what yours is. You must have hidden depths about you. I just know that you will astound us with your skills."

Handing the wand back to her, er, friend, she asked, "Core?"

Just then, the lady opened the door and asked if anyone would like some sweets. Lucinda gasped and said, "I'll take a Licorice Wand."

After giving the lady her coin, she gladly took the candy and almost squealed in delight. She was looking forward to eating wizard candy and comparing it to muggle candy.

After taking a bite, Lucinda smiled in delight. "Amazing." She muttered while she chewed. It was now her new favorite food.

Byron stretched on her lap before curling up and nodding off. He ignored the other animals in the compartment, lucky for her. Her cat could sleep through anything.

The African girl blushed deeply when the redhead girl mentioned her potential. She laughed softly and brushed her blonde hair behind her ear. She turned her head, hearing the older woman come by with the candy cart. She smiled brightly and felt her stomach rumble. "I'll take a Chocolate Frog and a Pumpkin Pastry." Sarabi said as she gave the woman the money she needed. She took her snacks with a bright smile and took her wand back as well. She sat in the corner, watching everyone else interact and she pursed her lips. She glanced around, seeing everyone was kind of engaged with the other blonde girl. It usually wouldn't bother her but she as trying to make friends. She frowned and turned her head to look out the window, hugging herself. Sadie curled up in her lap and meowed, trying to cheer her person up. Sarabi glanced down at her pet and gave her a gentle pat on the head before bringing her hand to her face. She nervously chewed on her fingernails as she stared out the window. She didn't need friends but she would really like some. If she didn't make any, it would make her school years go by so slowly. But, at least she could have more time to study and focus on school. Sarabi clenched her jaw and stayed silent.

( this isn't very good since i'm at school. )

Hunter hadn't been expecting someone to start signing at him, he'd been prepared to read lips the whole train ride and practically the whole year. He didn't quite think ahead, now that he realized how stupid of a plan that was, so he felt some gratefulness sweep through him as the red-haired girl turned towards him, her hands swiftly completing her sentence. Lucinda, he repeated, giving her a grin and a, 'Thanks,' before quickly taking a seat next to her, eyes travelling over the group. There were two other boys there - one with dark hair and one whose mouth moved weirdly when he spoke - and three girls - one was wearing french braids in her hair, another had blonde hair, and the last was Lucinda. Hunter realized that he hadn't caught anyone else's names, he'd been too focused on Lucinda. He'd ask them later; you didn't have to know someone's name to talk to them.

He watched as some of the others handed their wands over to Lucinda, looking as if she was studying them. Why's she doing that? Hunter thought, his lips pursing as with confusion. He glanced over at Allison and Malakai, seeing them having a conversation and Malakai leaning over to open his owl's cage. When Hunter saw that he looked down at the cat carrier in his lap, hastily opening it so Nina could get out to stretch her legs. The calico cat was out of the cage quickly, her back arching up and her jaws parting in a yawn. Hunter grinned at this actions, setting the carrier down between his feet, allowing Nina to sit down on his thigh. Her bobbed tail moved from side to side, not as serene as expected of a cat, due to her tail being so short. She looked more like a dog wagging its tail.

When Hunter looked up again, he realized that an older woman was here, looking at everyone expectantly. She was handing out treats and taking everyone's money in return. When she looked at him, Hunter pressed his lips together and shook his head; he didn't really want to spoil his appetite for later. He hadn't brought that much money along, either. He'd spent a lot of his money this summer, buying popsicles and various other treats. He was paying - ha, get it? - for it now.

Hunter dug around in his bag for a moment, drawing out his wand. He had forgotten what it was, honestly. He wasn't very forgetful, but it was hard to remember stuff when you were caught up in all of the excitement of going to a new school. Turning to Lucinda, he offered it to her. "Here," he said aloud, before remembering that she knew sign language. 'You can look at mine, if you want.' he finished, giving her a hopeful grin.

IC: Nate glanced sharply at the other boy, noticing the outstretched hand. Taking it nervously, he remembered to shake with a firm grip. His dad had always said a good handshake made first impression. If the handshake was week then that was a wizard who could be controlled, if the handshake was strong, then you had an equal on your hands and should watched your back. The other boy seem to have a strong handshake and so he noted it. Then he turned to the beautiful blonde girl, she was warm and welcoming and made him feel at ease, a thing he'd never felt before. She had mentioned that she had a stutter too at some point, and he smiled, she understood how hard it was.

His hazel eyes caught the other blonde girl who had entered the room, she was pretty, but he wasn't sure what she would be like. He wondered if she would be his friend too, his mother had said to make as many friends as he could, he would need to call on them when he was older when he needed things. Shaking his head awkwardly, he cleared his thoughts just in time for the old lady to ask if they wanted any sweets. He nodded enthusiastically, his stomach already grumbling from his small breakfast early in the mourning.

He glanced nervously at the other kids faces, suddenly self-conscious his stutter, his nerves taking him so long that the lady was just about to turn to leave when he spoke up.

"I-I'll h-h-have one o-of e-e-everything" he stuttered strongly, shame making his cheeks hot feeling the eyes of the other kids on the back of his head. The old lady however smiled sympathetically and started unloading her cart shuffling in one of each thing on the cart until a satisfactory pile sat on the seats around them.

He felt the other kids stare in wonder as he handed the lady all the money that it had cost as if it was nothing. Then he turned to the others and said, "D-dig i-i-in!" unceremoniously.
