    Cally: Transmutation

    Phel: Sound Wave Manipulation

Cally looked up at the Pro hero who did the intro, her eyes shining as she listened thouroughly, keeping notes mentally. If she was honest the Beasts would be were they would focus. Phel would easily be able to deafen them and she could easily use that to sneak in and capture them. The AI and Bots were good to destroy, but Cally was hesitant to do the same to beasts, after all they were living creatures too. At the sound of the Exam starting the Twins surged forwards. Cally was gathering gravel and any other material as they moved in small pouch. This would be the supply for her Acid. She also grabbed a forgotten rebar pipe and began turning that into a Quarterstaff, giving her a weapon to beat back any bots that got in their way. It was usefull for the few one pointers that crossed their paths

  • Koji Chen | Shadow Step

Just when he was beginning to relax again, this girl - this Yamada - bursts out a question about his quirk. Who did she think she was? If not for the almost sporadic way she spoke, he would've guessed she was probing for weaknesses. How did he respond to a question like that?! It took all of Koji's self control not to show any initial reaction - especially surprise. He looked almost cold as he stared her down, one eyebrow slowly creeping higher.

He could pass it off as his clothing. Would that work? All black on a warm day would make the sun uncomfortable, but then he'd have to explain the black. Or he could dodge the question. How? Ask about the wings? Accuse Yamada of probing for weaknesses? Could he get Dodger to back him up? Even if he wanted to answer Yamada, he'd worked so hard to confuse Dodger, and he really didn't want her knowing his qui-

The doors of the arena swung open. Koji could've kissed the lady who walked out. Saved by the bell. He promptly turned his back on both girls and gave the Pro his full attention, only to realize that he recognized the face that stood there. Reinesang. The Blood Hero. His brain regurgitated all he knew about her: she'd been Pro for ten years, then retired after a bad run-in with a villain. UA hired her two years ago. Her quirk had something to do with blood manipulation, though in his haze of adrenaline and anxiety Koji couldn't remember specifics. He'd grown up watching Reinesang fight, even watched footage her one-time team-up with his mother. And there she was, right in front of them!

Koji missed most of the instructions in his excitement. But that was okay; he'd done his research before hand. He knew reasonably what to expect. His main targets would be determined by what strayed into the shadows of the alleys and what he could get the drop on. What he could-

Reinesang was sprinting away. Where was she going? Where were the rest of the students going? Oh shi-! Koji's legs were smarter than him. They moved, sprinting through the gates on the tail-end of the first wave. Damn it. He'd let his mind get ahead of him again; now he was behind. Where'd Dodger gotten to? Didn't matter, Ko decided. She'd be fine. Didn't need his wishes of good luck; she had enough confidence for the both of them. What he needed was shadow.

Koji veered off immediately after passing through the gate, ducking into the shadow of the wall. He ran along inside the dimmer part, darting into alleys and side-streets to get away from the main fight. Making his way towards the west, where the sun wouldn't be so bright. Time to see how far he could push his quirk. With a deep breath and a moment's concentration, Ko dissolved into the shadows.

    iif3WL0.jpg

"They wouldn't try. Accidents happen. But they wouldn't be the only ones to underestimate your strength." She lets herself laugh a little at that, nodding slowly. She supposes something could happen if she were to take on a Pro, could suffer some sort of injury that’d turn out more severe than what’d be intended. But it wasn’t as if she were weak in the first place. The Hero would have to land a hit first, before she could test that theory. She was about to reply, but Koji returned her attention back towards the exams.

The exams. She’d almost forgot. The reason she was here was to partake in this event — making friends came after the fact. She squared her jaw, glancing up where a presence had made itself known near the now opening doors of the arena. She recognized the face, but couldn’t quite put a name to it until the woman did it for them. Reinesang. A Pro Hero that had the ability to manipulate blood. She looked different from the times Dodger had caught glimpses earlier in her life. Something about the Hero’s face and aura became more wisened and worn. It’s no wonder that she’d start to look like that — most people did, now that Villain activity was the highest it’d been in a while. More things happen these days, people get hurt like it’s the norm now. Seeing such a change in a Pro after a short period is just a sign of the times. That’s why they’re here, she guesses. To distribute that burden, if maybe even lessen it.

The information about the type of bots they’ll be facing alludes her. She’s much more curious about those around her, now that she takes a moment to look. She’d been familiar with Koji and the winged girl, Yamada, was it? There were some more faces that garnered attention: two girls making light conversation with each other, neither appearing exceptionally strong, but the one did have an eyepatch. Dodger was beginning to think it was more aesthetic than purposeful. Two boys, one with an impressive air about him and the way he holds himself. Others are scattered around as well, choosing to keep to their own privacy. She keeps her head down while the Hero in front of them continues drawing on about points, adjusting the brim of her hat to pull it across her forehead more. Her gaze cuts from the floor to Koji and Yamada, all noise around her turning to distant fuzz as her mind favors the steady drum of her heartbeat instead. He still seems uncomfortable by something the blonde has brought up, but a little more thankful since Reinesang chose to show herself. Now that most of their chances at a conversation were halted, Dodger uses the opportunity to separate herself. She’s not exactly antsy to begin, and she’s certainly not against the company, but she knows how this type of exam works. A big herd of students tramples in, all working to eliminate the first enemy they can see. It’s almost a necessity to get a head start to pull out in the end.

As soon as the go is given, Dodger’s feet move on their own. She keeps her head low, weaving between the first line of bots and leaving them for the students behind her. They’re one and two pointers anyways — easy points to make up. She sucks in a breath, feet digging deep into the barren streets of the false city. Her strides are long and purposeful, no wasted energy. She moves with clearly practiced ease. She knows her body, her limits, how to guide herself. She breezes by most of the students, keeping down the main road until she’s the furthest from the entrance. Her steps slow as she comes up on a major intersection of the city, finally stopping to garner her surroundings. Large buildings, some dilapidated looking while others are new, scatter the area. The distant sounds of students engaging in battle come from all directions as she catches her breath. She leans down, picking up some smaller pebbles that were left from the robots and their aimless wandering. She tosses a few of them up as some of the ones and twos she’s bypassed catch up to her, swinging her bat one-handedly. She seems to never miss, hitting right in the vital points like the eyes, neck, and joints. A few of them hit the floor because of the locked up limbs, but others just remain unmoving. The rest of the larger rocks are pocketed, saving them for the more intelligent androids. There’s about seven of them that follow her total, four of them remain upright. It takes a good swing from her bat to their legs for them to be considered “incapacitated”. ”Ah,” she muses, ”I never introduced myself to the bird girl.”

  • Gin Cero: 16 - Class 1-A - Quirk: Zero Divider

Before Gin could even respond with a 'nice to meet you, too' , Reinesang had appeared from behind the closed doors of the arena. He was curious about what Sam was going to say, but he had no time to find out as Sam was gone in a flash, leaving him with a simple wave goodbye.

He sighed before running along with the rest of the students to quickly rack up as many points as he could. He decided to do things the simplest way he could, by gathering random small items, replacing their properties with larger, heavier items, and destroying things with them. Once he finally found an enemy- a 2 point robot - he grabbed a rock off of the floor and switched it with a nearby tree. Throwing the rock as hard as he could, the bot's abdomen was almost instantly crushed. "Nice, this isn't as hard as I thought it would be." he said to himself, a more confident smile growing on his face. He moved from the spot, yellow eyes searching for more things to destroy.

    Koiso Nakadai: 16 - Class 1-A - Quirk: Pressure

"Thanks!" Koi's smile widened more than she thought it could. Being complimented on her motives always made her happy, she sure did love praise. "I'd never hurt one of my friends, though. So you're safe." she remarked, holding a thumbs up to the girl. "So, are you excited for--" her question was cut off by Reinesang's entrance, and before she knew it, her legs and feet were carrying her away from Yume. "Well, good luck, Yume! If you need help, call me and I'll come in a flash!" she said, waving the girl off before disappearing into the mock city.

It wasn't the greatest exit, but she was sure Yume understood her excitement to begin the exam. Speeding past several students, including one who appeared to be using a bat as a weapon, she almost ran straight into a 4-point beast. It was big, almost a foot taller than her, and it looked as if it were ready to kill someone. Its eyes locked with Koi's, and it turned to face her completely, instantly swinging at her with a powerful attack.

"Woah!" Koi shouted nervously, backing out of the way just in time and placing her hand on the beast's fist. "Was I supposed to be scared of you? That's pathetic!" with a clench of her fist, the beast's arm stopped moving, and it began to roar out in pain, moving all attention to it's arm. Wasting no time, Koi increased the pressure on the beast internally, destroying it from the inside until it was lifeless. "So, that's 4, right? Good job, Koi!" she congratulated herself, releasing the pressure and moving along the exam arena.

There, a beast! As quickly as Cally spotted it though a different person came and thoroughly destroyed it, no mercy. It made Cally have to turn away as disgust welled up inside her. How could they simply treat the beast, another living thing with feelings and ability to percieve pain in such a horrible way! All it was was an obstacle in the exam, it had done no villainous deeds, had not killed a single soul as for as they had been informed, had only been released to test the students, and yet it was killed for doing it’s job. Cally couldn’t bear that. Too bad she didn’t have a healing quirk, though theoreticalky she could transmute organs, draining as all heck though.

Phel placed a hand on her sister’s shaking shoulder and shook her head. Cally sagged and the duo bounded off, Cally having made Phel a pair of daggers so that she could mire easily take down bots as smthey ran across them. The duo managed to wreck multiple two and one pointers (so far they had a total of twenty five between them) before they spotted another beast. It was proeling through the street, seemingly unaware of anything. With a nod Phel concentrated, the sound draining from this surrounding area up to the beast. It seemed not to notice though. So Cally waited before running towards it, the whole approach silent thanks to Phel. In an instant she was sliding past the beast, hand touching the ground as she loosened the molecules, making the ground more akin to quicksand and the beast began sinking as it struggled. Call could tell it was trying to howl and snarl, but due to Phel’s quirk in use nothing escaped the Beast’s throat. Cally waited until only the head remained and she walked back over, solidifying the quicksand back to concrete, making sure it had room to breath. That was when Phel returned the sound, the beast now only whimpering.

  • As the mass of students surged forward, Yamada knew what she had to do. Up and out. She thought to herself, dodging out of the way so she could properly get power behind her takeoff. She set into a sprint, leaping and unfurling her large black wings as she rode a thermal up to a roof. Thank goodness that we're in a city on a hot day, or I'd be screwed! She thought, scanning the city below her. She spotted a test taker cornered in an alleyway by one of the 3 pointers, their fear making them freeze. In the blink of an eye (and a dip into her secondary quirk) later, the tall blonde was leaping into the alley and whipping out her bo staff to full length. She landed between the other student and the AI and used her staff to block the metal foot coming down on them.

"Go!" She snapped at the other teen, bracing herself to resist the strong force pushing on her. " There's plenty more bots and time, get out in the open, and DON'T freeze up again, ya hear?" She added, waiting until the terrified teen had nodded frantically and bolted, leaving her to finish off the bot.Time slowed around the bot itself as she pulled away her staff and rolled out of the way, only to briefly resume as the foot came stomping down. Stop! She shouted internally.

    And the world stood still.

    Her mental clock started ticking.

Ten... She sprang up to the top of the robot, quickly finding the control panel and setting to work.

Nine... With practiced skill, she opened the hatch with her army knife and studied the inner workings.

Eight... Just like a car... if you could count a huge robot as a car, that is.

Seven... The teen started hot-wiring the robot so she could control it.

    Six...

    Five...

    Four...

    Three...

    Two...

One... Done! She grinned triumphantly, blood starting to trickle from her nose.

    Start!

And the world resumed around her.

With the same grin still plastered on her face, she turned her new ride around and back into the fray.

  • OOC:

I don't think this section of the rp will later longer than the end of this week since it does seem to be a fairly individual bit. What we'll go into next I'll still take suggestions but I'll let you all know in a day or so.

    Kaori Seto "Reinesang" | Blood:

While she sprinted off towards the viewing box, she figured it looked a little weird, but that was almost an after thought once the students started attacking the bots set up. There was so much potential in the group of students, and that was a compliment no one threw around lightly now a days. The rise of villains was almost too great for the Pro Heroes to handle, the hero numbers almost stagnating. The Alford boy was destined for greatness, but the way he carried himself told her that he couldn't care less about the whole ordeal. The twins had immense power, and despite their lineage, neither of them acted like the villain their mother was. In fact, they almost seemed too kind if they felt this bad about killing one of these beasts. The girl Dodger seemed extremely confident, each hit meeting its mark with suck precision. However, Reinesang wondered how true the act was. Was the girl really that confident or was there something more? Despite that, she'd be one to watch out for. The winged girl was some what of a surprise. From the monitors it appeared that the girl had two Quirks: her wings and some sort of time manipulation it would seem. Reinesang paced the viewing room, watching the monitors, waiting for the moment to release the zero pointer. What would they do?

    Sam Alford | Water Manipulation:

Crack. That was the sound he heard from an AI as it was pinned against the side of a building, its structure breaking as his water pierced it like daggers. His father had told him he might develop the usage of ice later on, but who needed it when water could cut like a knife as it was? He looked at the no longer functioning AI before glancing back at a half a street behind him. Multiple one pointers laid on the ground in pieces. Shaking his head, he continued on down the street. The Alford boy had no idea what his score was, his guess was around the mid teens since they were mainly one pointers.

A beast came lumbering towards him. "Why you're even worth four points is beyond me. It's not like you are created to be that dangerous unless you're up against someone truly incapable," he commented before water wrapped around his arms. His right arm shot forward, the water whip wrapping around the beast's face, the whip on his left on wrapping around the midsection. It struggled, but quickly fell limp from being drowned. Before it had the chance to die, Sam launched the beast at two one pointers, destroying them as well. A scoff escaped his lips before he veered off towards another street of the mock city. He came across the winged girl who he had labeled aloof, or at the very least quite clumsy. It seemed however that she was quite capable, even though he noticed a small line of red falling from her nose. In the distance, he noticed the girl who carried a baseball bat. If she wasn't so accurate with it, Sam might've made sure to point out that this was an Entrance Exam not a ball game.

Regardless of his quick observations, Sam bent back briefly before sending a small blast of water at another small group of one and two pointers.

Yume Aozora ~ Fifteen ~ Perception Swap

Yume peeked around the corner of a building, to see if there was anything on the street ahead. There were parts of bots scattered about the street, some lying a fair distance away from their owners' shredded metal bodies. A beast rest, unmoving, against two destroyed one pointers. Someone had already cleared this street. "Dang it," Yume grumbled, frown deepening.

She still felt like a total idiot from earlier, having been too lost in thought to notice the signal to start given by Reinesang. It took Kio suddenly moving away from her and wishing her luck to make her realize what was going on, but it had been already too late by then. The first wave of students was already well on their way, clearing everything in their path. She would've had to catch up to them before she could start earning points, so she made a trip to the alleys instead, to see if any bots were coming through them do to the sudden commotion. She managed to find and take down three one pointers that way, but that was it.

Again, that paranoid feeling of eyes boring into the back of her skull popped up, so she shot a glance over her shoulder, and then froze; she wasn't alone. Further down the alleyway was a beast, its teeth bared and gaze firmly locked onto her form. A threatening snarl rose from its throat as it lurched towards her. Her heart thundered in her chest, her thoughts blurring together. She resisted the rising urge to turn around and bolt; there was no way she was going to outrun that thing. Her eyes darted around, looking for an escape route. Behind the beast was a dumpster, which had a small gap between it and the wall it sat beside. A crazy idea popped into her mind.

She charged straight at the beast, throwing herself downwards into a roll as it lept at her, narrowly avoiding a swipe from its claws. Jumping back up to her feet, she flung her body towards the back of the dumpster, squeezing into the slit between it and the wall. With her back firmly pressed against the wall, and her hands lying on the side of the dumpster, she quickly inched forward. There was a loud slam to her side, and she could feel murky breath on her neck, a growl in her ear. She didn't dare look behind her until she was about halfway through.

The beast had lodged its head in the gap and was now struggling to free itself, to no avail. It looked at her with almost puppy-like eyes and whimpered as if it was pleading for help. "Sorry bud, no can do," she said, a surge of relief putting a smile on her face. "I'm sure they'll get you out once this is over, though," she continued, looking away from the beast before making her way out from behind the dumpster.

  • [Ditto apology for inactivity. Trying to wrap things up irl and posting just slipped my mind...]

    Koji Chen | Shadow Step

Crunch! Koji's makeshift weapon made contact and the robot tumbled to the ground in a pile of sparks and metal. A second, larger bot reared up behind him; but at the robot's legs came down, Koji was gone. Then the metal pipe he wielded came down with a crack on the robot's head, and it toppled, too. Ko wiped his forehead and leaned against the brick wall of the alley. He could trace his path back across the city through a trail of shadowy places and robotic corpses. He tried to avoid the animals - he was nervous he'd hurt one permanently. Besides, robots and AI were even easier to sneak up on. It was amazing how rarely people thought to look up. But surely his time had to be dwindling.

Koji tucked his pipe into his belt and grabbed onto the fire escape that sat on the side of the building. He made it to the roof in seconds. The sun was too bright for his taste up there, but it offered a better view. He needed more than one- and two-pointers to build his score. Finally he spotted a crowd of enemies only two blocks away, still relatively untouched by other students. Though they'd undoubtedly see them soon. Koji took a running leap and jumped the gap between his building and the next. And then the next. And the next. He felt a laugh escape as he ran across the roofs of the fake city, and wished his mother could see him now. He'd have this test in the bag.

  • OOC:

I have expected a slight bought on inactivity due to school finishing up as well as the beginning of summer seems to be pretty busy anyways. I will say that since Fraja21 (Lawlet) only posted once and it was at the beginning of the thread, I will be removing Lawlet until Fraja21 can return. Everyone else has been fairly active so I'll remain a bit more lenient for a while longer. As for moving on after the Entrance Exams, I think maybe like a team battle, maybe something like CTF. I think there are 10 students so it'd be an easy way to split, while also working on quirks and having "enemies" to fight. So this will be the plan unless you all would rather something else. Lastly, after the team battle, I would like maybe an internship type arc, or at least more interactions with some Pros, so if some of you feel inclined to make a Pro Hero who works in the field or at the school please feel free.

    Kaori Seto "Reinesang" | Blood:

She continued to pace as the monitors showed the students' actions against the various opponents. While they were great, concerns arose. As the Pro had already observed, they all had great talents with their quirks, but did they have the guts and the instinct to risk themselves for others when the time came down to it? Did they have what it took to be a hero or were they just talented at using their Quirks? Did they even know the difference? There was also concerned with the twins. They lowered their over all score by tag teaming the monsters. While that was great, and pairs were not unheard of in the hero world, could the handle on their own? Reinesang was prepared to test that. Test everyone's courage and push them to their limits. Push them to the point of breaking and maybe beyond before guiding them to pick up the pieces.

Regardless of the challenges she had in store for them in the future, and even the challenges she didn't have in mind, it was time for their first test. Reinesang pulled a lever next to the monitors, releasing the two zero pointers. They were the traditional robots, but at a larger scale and certainly harder to take down simply due to their size. The zero points towered over some of the surrounding buildings, causing the remaining bots, AIs, and beasts look like child play. The giant bots rumbled through the streets, crushing a few bots in their path. This was their first test.

    Sam Alford | Water Manipulation:

Sam had finished off another beast. With each defeat of an opponent, pride swelled within the boy. For the past few years, he did not want to care about being a hero, and in truth he still didn't. But everytime he struck down a monster, Sam proved to his father that he was wrong to overlook his son for the majority of his life. Anyone else would call the relationship Sam had with the Sea Knight resentment, but it wasn't resentment, or at least not anymore.

Sam turned on his heels, piercing another one pointer. His attack halted midway, feeling the streets rumble. His head cocked to the side to reveal one of the zero pointers a block or two away from his current position in the city. The feeling in his stomach told him that those bots were zero pointers because the teacher figured that no one would want to bother attacking, since defeating it wouldn't add to their point value. But Sam knew better. They were here so someone would attack them. Without almost any hesitation, his arms flung behind him, blasts of water from his hands propelling him forward, towards the zero pointer closest to him.

Another Ai down. Cally mentally went over there score, humming as she realized it was at least in the 60s by now. Though undoubtedly it would be cut in half, she only hoped they were grading everyone on multiple factors. She walked over to Phel to resharpen her daggers when she felt the ground shake. Looking uo she saw the heads of two Zero pointers, one closer that the other. She looked back to Phel and quickly sharpened the others daggers. As said they were Zero points, but they didn’t seem to be especially hard, just hugened versions of other bots. Maybe the potential of dying beneath their massive feet was what made them Zero points. Probably.

As the turned to leave, other students began flooding past them to avoid the second pointer. It had turned and was now marching towards them. Some were fast, easily getting away, some were not hindered by mutation quirks or simply having no stamina. Cally saw thise and began chewing her lip.

"Cally no. We can just run away and be done with this" Phel said. But Cally shook her head

"We have too. Some of these people aren’t fast enough. Plus the debris will make it harder for them to escape all we have to do is slow it down." Cally said, giving Phel a small smile before charging directly at the Zero pointer. Phel muttered a thousand different curses but still followed her sister. As soon as they were free of the others Cally began reaching down, turning the ground to quicksand in some spots so hopefully it would get stuck in a hole. After a certain point she stopped and began drawing a line on the ground. Phel caught up and looked at the Zero Pointer, it was still some distance away.

"My turn?" They asked their twin, to which Cally gave her a fanged grin and nodded. So Phel positioned herself in front of Cally (who was creating soundproof muffs from her makeshift staff and a few rocks) and pointed at the beast. She snapped, and point all her concentration into manipulationg the sound. First she was increasing the frequency of it and herding it in, keeping it focused on one spot. What Phel was doing was creating infrasound bursts at the machine, tryingbyo find it’s resonance so she could use that and cause all sorts of problems for the the robot. All the while Cally was slowly leading her away from the bubbling acid line she had created in hopes of catching one of the bots foot.

Twos, threes. She’s even taken down a couple fours she’s run into. Ranking in the points comes easily, but that’s just what spurs on her frustrations. She’s getting antsy and restless without something to really test her strengths on. The five point targets have eluded her — it probably doesn't help that she won't stay in the same spot for too long. Any time other students catch up to her or are in her line of sight, she ducks down another alleyway to separate herself from them. She hasn’t been keeping track of how many she’s taken down, but the two and three pointers tend to travel in small groups. It’d be safe to assume she’s well into the forties at this point.

The hold she keeps on her bat keeps her ill temper at bay. She’s been able to take down a majority of her enemies with one-handing her bat. Swinging with two hands would just put useless energy behind her attacks. As much as she’d love to level the buildings in whatever district of the city she’s passing through right now, and it’s likely she could, she doesn't want to expend herself in the case something interesting might finally come her way — but she’s losing her certainty that anything greater than what’s come her way now will occur.

However, luck seems to be on her side. There’s a distinctly loud thundering, the ground rumbles in a continuous drawl of thump, thump, thump alongside her heartbeat. She grins, fire burning in her eyes in that wolfish expression and makes an instant b-line towards the noise. She’s heard stories of UA’s ace in the sleeve for the Entrance Exams. Tales of how students would be completely overwhelmed with the image of a giant bot towering above them. The zero pointer. She cuts down an alley, the zero’s tall figure poised to her left over the buildings. She’s so caught up in the excitement to take it down that she fails to notice the noise approaching down the road that her alley converges onto. She crashes, wincing, but hardly budges from her stopping point despite the force she was hit with. Her eyes widen in surprise, the incredulous and foolish smile still plastered over her face. ”Woah that was —” She stops herself when she recognizes the face before her. ”Hm? You’re the water boy from the beginning.” She seems to practically forget all about the Zero pointer just meters ahead of their path, instead turning her attention to her right shoulder, lowering the bat as she rubs at the small ache throbbing from the collision. ”Man, you were moving fast. Could've really hurt someone.”

    Kaori Seto "Reinesang" | Blood:

    Sam Alford | Water Manipulation:

His focus was completely on the nearby Zero Pointer. It was going down no matter what happened. This was to prove to himself and to his father. For glory- oof. Sam stuck his right foot out in front of him to stop himself from continuing any farther as he felt impact to his shoulder. "What the heck?" he exclaimed instinctively as he turned back towards the student he collided with. It took a moment for him to process, his mind coming back to reality, before he recognized the girl in front of him. "Oh you're that baseball kid," he said simply. He hadn't come across her up until now, or at least he didn't think he did. Honestly, it was all a blur to him, and all he could really be certain of was that he had to be somewhere in the mid 30s point wise. Maybe more. Maybe less.

Sam's attention wasn't fully on Dodger, as his eyes kept wandering towards the zero pointer. Could she be doing this to make sure I don't take the zero pointer down so she can distract me? No. She looks even less focuses than me right now. He thought, noticing her attention was completely on him. "Look, we don't really have time," he paused to motion to the large Zero pointer coming their way, getting closer by the moment, "So let's run through this quickly. The name's Sam Alford and sorry for running into you. If you are useful and want to take that thing down with me feel free but if not, get going." Sam's voice was pretty matter of fact. Sam turned to attack the zero pointer with a large blast of water, but he was cut off mid attack to barely dodge an attack by the giant robot. He stumbled back, surprised by the fact that he miscalculated and hadn't seen the robot attack until it was almost too late. A curse came from his mouth, almost inaudible to anyone surrounding him. He couldn't afford to fail at this exam, even if it was just the Entrance Exam. Not if he wasn't to be viewed as anything by his father, whose opinion would surely be heard.

  • ✧ — DODGER

    iif3WL0.jpg

Ignoring his tone, she snorts at the “baseball kid” phrase. The way he chose to identify her is too similar in the way she did to him. He seems frustrated, enough so that she could practically hear his teeth grinding as he spoke. He’s disheveled, especially in the shocked way he’s looking towards her, with his eyebrows drawn in on some incredulous expression. It seems like he can't choose between anger and confusion, so they mix together into something that Dodger can't help but to laugh at. Are all people this uptight? Koji seemed to be pretty on edge, even before the exam, so maybe it was something natural. Should she be that upset over getting run into as well?

He seems to be in a rush, if the strong collision from before was anything to go off of. He rushes out his introductions quickly, expressing his urgency towards taking out the zero point bot. She frowns a little at this guy — Sam whatever… She hadn’t bothered to really worry too much about that. She was more focused on how rude he’d seemed to her. She purses her lips, wondering if he’s worth the trouble. He seems strong, but she honestly wonders if he’s worth putting up with for that fact alone. She lets out a short breath, watching him turn to strike the zero, only to be caught off guard when the bot came swinging at them. She rolls backwards, keeping her bat tight in her grasp as she stumbles back enough to put some space between herself and the approaching target.

It’s bigger up close. A lot bigger. It easily trumps the height of any buildings in the false city, and it’s a wonder how it can get through most of the streets without decimating any structure in its path. The ground shudders every time it takes a step, but now the city seems to fall still. A breeze still cuts through and drags the dust along with it that the zero has awoken, but the robot has stopped moving to look down at the two heroes at its feet. One single eye, a red glowing lens in its center, stares straight below. Dodger meets its glare, yellow green eyes fixed into slits. The usual grin has swept off her face, something more calculative and cold taking its place. She watches as the bot suddenly lifts its arm, slowly lifting it towards the clouds, while it’s gaze never leaves her and Sam.

Blinking, Dodger turns to look over her shoulder at Sam. He’s a mess. She can see every emotion that passes over his mind through the grimace he wears. She clicks her tongue, shoving him back roughly with her elbow. ”Maybe no one’s told you this,” she lifts her bat up steadily, left foot sliding forwards while her right plants itself firmly into the ground, ”but you’ve got a really bad attitude under pressure.” She lets her second hand ghost the bat, but doesn’t fully handle it with both. She swings upwards as the robot’s hand moves down, a large blast of wind cutting the air. It knocks the zero’s fist away, and forces the robot to budge backwards a little. But… ”Not enough?” She mumbles, with a faint smirk of challenge. I can’t swing fully here. The buildings are fixing to crumble already with the zero’s size. She tightens her grip on her bat, flexing her fingers along the handle’s tape. It’s no good. This district’ll turn to rubble if I use anymore power behind my swings. She watches the zero quickly recover, pushing closer towards the two. Based on her previous attack, its feet and core are most likely the heaviest. It wouldn’t fall unless she or someone else were to get it off its center of balance. She lets out a small sigh, sounding like a laugh, and pulls the brim of her hat down out of habit. ”Ah, it feels good to be forced into a corner.” She muses with a pleasant smile on her face.

  • Koji Chen | Shadow Step

Things were going well. So there had to be a problem. Koji just didn't expect it to be a fifty-feet-high problem. The sight of the zero-pointer caught him so off guard that he face planted onto a roof, scraping up his hands and giving himself a gash on his forehead. But he barely felt the pain over the panic. That was the zero-pointer everyone was talking about taking down? Were they crazy? For the first time, Koji wondered just how powerful others' quirks were. He could practically see Dodger's cocky smile; maybe her confidence wasn't as unfounded as he assumed.

Against all better judgement, Ko approached the zero-pointer. Just in time to watch Dodger hit a home run against its fist. The roof trembled underneath him; the wind blasted around his face. But the robot barely budged. Even Dodger appeared surprised. The boy beside her, a water manipulator who Koji had noticed earlier, looked far more panicked. Ko could relate. They all needed to get out of there, to focus on challenges they were designed to overcome, not climb pointless mountains.

"Dodger!" Koji thrust his hands in the air. "Dodger, get out of here!" Why was he doing this? He needed to leave, too. He needed points. But...The zero-pointer laid out another attack, and Koji's heart leapt to his throat. He wasn't about to leave other students in danger. "God, get away! This thing is designed to kill!"

As usual no one stopped to help the twins, but at least they had valid reasons, as there were two robots aiming to utterly annihilate everything in their paths. The twins were now out of Cally’s minefield of quicksand that would hopefully be enough to catch the zero pointers foot, if the acid didn’t first. Phel was still doing her thing as she tried to find the mechanical frequency that would resonate and cause the bot serious damage. They had destroyed enough glass due to this, as well as some rather fancy china the people that adopted had. Phel had apologized, but spent more time learning how to harness the destruction resonance could create, while also learning what frequencies affected humans negatively, so they knew which ones to mostly avoid.

"Aha!" Phel called out as one of their sound blasts caused the joint in its arm to spasm out of control. Unfortunately it cause it to swipe the top of a building off and now to rain rubble on the duo. Callista swore, having seen the action rather than hearing and quickly pulled her sibling flush against the building as debris rained down, crushing the street in front of them. Cally looked at her sibling who was already lining up a shot to the knee of the zero pointer and repeated the blast of that lovely frequency that caused the arm to spasm, only it was a much longer duration this time.

Near instantly the knee began shaking and whirring as the mechanics inside being vibrated at double their frequency, causing it to visible shake before buckling and beginning to fall, the knee landing just outside Cally’s acid trap. Phel didn’t think after that, just went and aimed at the other knee, their pitch black eyes holding determination. The both of them would become UA students, they would become heroes, and they would no longer live in the shadow of their wretched mother’s acts. They would prove that they were their own people who valued the life of others and peace other the constant fear Akta perpetuated. Would right the wrongs of their mother and prove to all those scum who thought they were no good villains as well how deeply wrong they were.

  • Yume Aozora ~ Fifteen ~ Perception Swap

The muscles in her arms screamed out in pain, but she persisted, tightening her grip on the two-pointer's head and continuing to twist it. The red light in its eye flickered, sparks flew from a ripped wire in its neck. It desperately tried to push itself off of the ground with its one free arm, while its other arm started to wiggle out from beneath Yume's knee. She gritted her teeth, relaxing her muscles for a moment before giving one last sudden jerk of her hands. There was an audible snap from the robot's neck as its head spun to an abnormal position, its dimmed eye staring at the sky from an awkward angle as sparks leaped from torn wires at its neck.

Yume pushed herself off of the bot, staggering for a moment before she caught herself against a wall, breathing heavily. Her fingers tentatively felt around the side of her ribcage, and she winced from the pain that shot through. Did the robot's earlier blow break a rib, or was it just a bad bruise? She shook her head, there was no time to worry about that, she needed to keep going. Her eyes moved upwards, towards one of the hulking bots that were roaming about in the distance, right when it's arm suddenly knocked the roof right off of a building. That thing was a more pressing issue.

She weakly pushed herself off of the wall, stumbling for a moment before she regained her balance. Gingerly placing a hand on her side, she took a couple of steps before forcing her pace into a jog, moving towards the direction of the zero-pointer. Goodness, she didn't know what she was doing, this was crazy. Her quirk wouldn't work on that thing; she was basically powerless against it. But she couldn't just sit idly by when someone else may be in danger.

  • Gin Cero: 16 - Class 1-A - Quirk: Zero Divider

Having racked up 23 points for himself, Gin could faintly see the head of an enormous robot. Shuddering, he decided it would be best to leave it alone, to let the others handle it. That would definitely be the best thing to do to ensure his safety. If that was the best thing to do, then why the hell was he running towards the scene?

Before he knew it, he was there. He saw multiple students fending off the enormous machine. Wasn't this the zero point one? Why on Earth was it so big? He didn't have time to question anything else before he dug into his pocket, removing multiple stones. He had been collecting the bodies of the robots he took out, knowing that their weight would be useful at some point. He looked around, finally being able to see the cool quirks that everyone else had, before his eyes locked onto Sam.

    Koiso Nakadai: 16 - Class 1-A - Quirk: Pressure

That made 32. Koi exhaled dramatically as the 2 pointer imploded from the pressure, dusting her hands off. Now it was time to go see what all the noise was about ahead of her. As she sprinted excitedly towards the commotion, she noticed a familiar figure, wearily jogging in the same direction as her. She braked, her sneakers dragging along the concrete for a second, and approached Yume. "Hey there, buddy!" she greeted, waving before jogging alongside her. "You look tired. You aren't hurt, are you?"
