THE NIGHT KNOWS ME BY NAME

Halo had been retreating even further into herself as of late, never sure where to be or what to do. She was lost as to how to befriend anyone, and she wasn't sure what to do with the weight of the secret she kept. The knowledge of the identity Ken's children.

So Halogen was just wandering now, fed and content, but feeling empty.

A little near the border, but...

But she didn't think it would be any trouble. No, she thought she would be fine.

    Couldn't have even imagined.

  • Scorchedface

The scent of one of his own drawed him near, he wouldn't be able to see them but he could hear their heartbeat. It was slow and steady.. da dum, da dum, da dum.. He'd silence it soon.

"How's your mother doing?" Scorchedface inquired as he made his way from the darkness.

THE NIGHT KNOWS ME BY NAME

    This made Halogen give pause.

She turned to face Scorchedface, growling a little deep in her throat. Oh, she knew this cat, if by reputation alone. Her father the murderer, the cheater, abandoning his family all for some fish-faced bimbo.

"That's," she paused, considering her words, "nothing you have any business knowing."

She was going to spit out "none of your fucking business" but knew she needed to remain calm, collected. Unbothered. It was her trademark.

"You left, remember? If you'd really wanted to know how she was you'd have stayed to see."

She bared her teeth in a snarl she knew he could not see, goven yhe apparwnt sorry state of his face, and let out a hiss she knew he would hear.

She'd scare this bastard off of BloodClan territory. He didn't belong here, and it didn't occur to her for a moment what might follow, just how much stronger than her he actually was.

She stayed calm-- angry, but in control-- as she always was.

  • Scorchedface

A femme voice.. Halogen, was it? The scarred brute slowly started a circle around his kin, "I don't truly care," He stated coldly. "I'm here for one reason and one reason only, child."

He came to a halt, he stood up tall and his ears were perked as they listened carefully to his daughter. Scorchedface had failed to kill one of his daughters before, he won't mess up this time. "I need something to get back at your mother for ruining Dovestrike's life." He growled with a lashing tail. "Your death shall suffice." The flame point listened for her breathing, for her heartbeat- Then he launched himself forward with outstretched claws to latch onto the young molly.

Halo's breath caught-- he intended to murder her, to add her to his sick little checklist. Her heart pounded as she sprang into motion, attempting to leap backward, but he slammed into her, claws digging into her pelt.

Halo yowled in fury. "You! Won't! Kill me!" She could fight, dammit, she was a child of BloodClan, sister to the deputy-- she wasn't going out like some candle in a fucking hurricane!

Struggling in vain under the huge tom's weight, she'd throw up one paw in a desperate attempt to rake his muzzle. Fear shot through her as she realized how significant the size difference was, the muscle difference--

    She could actually die here.

    Oh god.

//you're free to powerplay her from here on!

  • Scorchedface

Her claws raked his muzzle causing his face to turn to the side, slowly and with a snarl, he turned his head to face her. "Pitiful." Scorchedface growled before his claws found their way to eyes, they were the first to go as he plundged his weapons into the sockets. The scarred brute could feel the warm liquid coating his paws but oh, he wasn't finished.

The flame point's claws traced from around her to find her cheeks then they moved up, each paw set on each ear. "I won't kill you immediately, I want to make sure Malvolia knows who did it." He moved one paw to her chest and slammed down upon it causing a sickening crack to sound from within her. "You can still speak, right?.. You don't need your ears to speak."

The paw that had travelled came back up to her ear and both claws went to work on shredding them. Scorchedface didn't need his sight to know that the ground was pooling with his daughter's blood. The brute moved off of her before fleeing the scene for someone else to find.

The scream that ripped from Halogen's throat as Scorchedface's claws stabbed deep into her eyes was bloodcurdling.

She moaned in agony when he slammed his paw into her chest, the crack reverberating through her body. No, no, no...

She tried to fight, to do something, anything, but her body was growing weaker and she could feel her blood on the grass all around her, slick and cloying. His claws were everywhere on her, digging in, and her senses were numbing to everything but the pain.

And then he was gone, and Halo, lying broken, could barely even breathe anymore.

//open for someone to find her now! she'll probably die in the next post, just after saying who did it

  • The smell of blood was strong as the young she-cat made her way over to investigate, on guard with her claws unsheathed, when she came upon Halogen, just... lying in a pool of blood, and struggling to breathe. "Halogen?" A note of worry could be heard, just a note, and Tori rushed over, not really caring if her paws would be covered in blood if she got too close, inspecting the younger cat. "What happened? Who did this to you?"

She didn't know Halogen well, and apparently somebody had taken away the chance to. She was no healer, but it was obvious even to her that Halogen wouldn't survive.

  • // oh god, Kink isn't the best person to find this stuff

Kink had now idea what to do, he had nobody to really talk to and he rather enjoyed being by himself too much. He should make more friends, but that could come later. At the moment it was hard to even study the territory. At the age he was at, he was in the middle of being a kit and an apprentice, which was an awkward time of his life. It was like being a teenager, your supposed to act like an adult but you get treated like a child. It was a funny mash up of emotions but he really didn't care much for any of it, as long as he stayed by himself and nobody got caught up in his own problems, he would be absolutely perfectly fine. Although, so far, his life had been sheltered. A clear barrier around what he should see and should not. He saw small injuries, but heard of others seeing deaths. He didn't know how gruesome and cruel this world could be, as he never experienced it. The first real life problem he got involved with was the Pistachio problem. Even there he didn't truly know what happened. Although, deaths just never came to him. When he was walking along the tracks, more far from the border he heard a blood hurtling scream and ran. He didn't run away because he truthfully wanted to see what caused it. But, his quick instincts and young legs got him there fast, faster then others. He was the first one there, and he stood at the scene of a murder. One of his classmates, someone he barely knew, was lying in the middle of this area. There eyes ripped from there body and ears torn off. In a savage attack the murderer ran off, and he just made it there as he saw the fast swoop through the rural area. He wanted, so deadly to chase after the murder. Although he couldn't, because this girl was still alive. He had to stay there as he got help. "help! please!" he yelled as loud as he could, wanting this feline to live as much as he wanted the murder dead. Hopefully people came in time, he couldn't sit here and watch this for much louder. He felt his head getting dizzy and paws light. He couldn't faint. Stay watching, stay here, stay helping. There girl is going to die, spend her last seconds in a memorial way. He tried his best to walk closer and put on a proud smile, one a mother would give her kit. Even thought he was really a boy, he wanted to help her in her last seconds. "even though I didn't know you much, I want to let you know everyone will miss you. Don't die in shame, die in pride. Thank you for your duties, even though you probably can't hear." he said as confident as he could be in the moment. It was no use spending herbs on someone who had a terrible fate. I'm so sorry, please live on and watch over us.

// EDIT; ninja'd god damn, just pretend he wasn't the first one there then lol

    SILENCE IS BITTERSWEET

THE NIGHT KNOWS ME BY NAME

Halogen's hearing was all but gone, her ears torn to useless shreds, blood clogging the place where they used to be. But she scented another cat's approach...

    Tori.

Or maybe it was... there was far too much blood on the air to tell for certain.

And then another... one she didn't quite recognize, but she had the vague idea it was a kit she'd seen around.

Halogen whimpered. "Sc-scorchedface..." she rasped out, fiercely determined not to let him get away with this. Never, never. She wasn't going to die silent. She'd lived that way, but she wouldn't die that way.

Yet another whimper escaped her, and then a choked gurgling as she coughed weakly on her own blood.

    "I don't... I d-don't want to d-die..."

Her world was dark and silent, scent and touch the only things to guide her, and for the first time in a long time, she wished her mother was there. She wanted Malvolia to hold her, comfort her. Or Ken, her brother, her littermate. She ached for them. Their scent, their touch.

Ha. And wasn't that pitiful. She could think of only two people who loved her, and she wasn't even certain about either of them.

    She wanted them here...

Then Halogen breathed out, and she thought no more.

    //she gone

  • Dangerously narrowed blue hues appeared from the darkness. Laying upon the still body of Halogen, appearing just as she croaked out a very familiar name. Scorchedface. A rogue who just signed his death warrant. Kink and Tori stood by her side, to catch her last breaths, her final words, much too young for such things, she was. He murdered his own child, what filth would do such a thing? Caledon wanted him dead, his head as a paw-rest on his throne of sins. Caledon could not look any longer, the sight was heartbreaking, it was easy to see an adult die, but a child he watched grow up and sister of his deputy, not so much.

He would wait several minutes after her final breath before he would open his muzzle to speak. Looking away from the scene and into the distance. "I need a patrol to Darkclan to inform Malvolia. She at least deserves to grieve, she may visit her grave when she so chooses." he spoke slowly. "I want scorchedface's head, I offer a bounty of 100 freshly killed rats, alive. 50 if he is dead" he swiveled his head around to look between tori and Kink. "message received asshole, I'm coming for you" he whispered into the shadows, his eyes blazing with fury as he slipped into the darkness. Knowing that it would be handled.
