  • Galen walked after him and murmured, "Is there some way I could get my own shirt and give you this one back?.. I don't want to ruin it.."

Demon smirked even more. Well, I suppose anything's possible.. he certainly seems to like Basil.. I'm just not sure how this is going to go, given his crush on Leia, but..

  • "It's fine, you won't wreck it. Not anymore than some of the other kids would do... if they got ahold for me," Basil replied uneasily as he didn't look up from the ground, trembling slightly despite himself before he reached forward to open the cabin door.

"Ouch. That's a blow to moral," Kento replied with a wry smile as he saw Riley's enthusiasm deflate a bit. "Anything could happen... love is strange, after all."

Riley let out a heavy sigh before falling back into her back, "Ughhh... Basil needs someone to take his mind off that jerk Jared..."

  • Galen looked disturbed before murmuring in embarrassment, "N-no, I meant.. oh, nevermind." He hesitantly followed Basil inside.

It was just Donovan and Dany inside, two people who tended to mind themselves.

Demon looked up at Riley curiously. Is there someone I should.. y'know.. She drew a claw across her throat while making a meaningful wide-eyed expression. Give 'em the ol' one-two? Y'know.. put on ice?

  • "Sorry," Basil mumbled quietly as he looked up, letting out a soft sigh of relief before he made his way over to his bed. "I mean... your jacket can maybe be fixed later by sewing but... I don't know."

"I wouldn't be against that," Riley mumbled as she sighed, puffing up her cheeks. "I mean, before that horrible man... My brother seemed to smile despite the gloomy look he's got going for him. He looked... happy. And I miss that for him. I miss the happy, laughing Basil..."

"Well, it doesn't help that Jared's the one who I think's been tormenting him. Jared... changed after that one mission he went on," Kento admitted warily as he dipped his head with a sigh, shaking his head. "And especially after he found out who his godly parent was. Basil hasn't been the same since that betrayal."

  • "You're fine," Galen offered with gentle meekness as he hesitantly ventured forward, looking around at the other campers with wariness and seeming quite anxious. "And don't worry. I have lots of other jackets just like it. Maybe I can just go out shopping soon and get some new clothes from a mortal store."

Demon frowned, her ears sliding back as a faint growl escaped her. Well, I promise I'll make his little "accident" extra painful.

  • Basil was silent as he made his way over towards his bed before he moved to pull a spare sweatshirt out of his bag, quickly pulling it over head. He avoided looking at him before he murmured quietly, "It's... fine, you can just use it until then... I don't care, alright? You can... just do whatever you want." He sighed as he slowly sat down on his bed, taking a hand through his hair.

"You can't. Basil's going to kill me. I wasn't supposed to tell anyone... which this's the second time I've told someone... you can't do anything," Riley replied as she waved her hands quickly, shaking her head.

Kento was quiet for a moment before he smiled wryly and murmured, "What if she told someone else who could take care of the problem who wouldn't be too obvious?"

"Aren't you a doctor? You shouldn't be promoting violence!" Riley blurted out, her eyes wide with shock as she looks up from Demon.

  • Galen looked a little confused and hurt at Basil's tone as he slowly rubbed his arm. "I'm sorry, did I.. say something wrong?"

Their interactions finally gained Donovan's attention. He glanced over at them inconspicuously but very curiously. Dany, however, had her back to everyone, and was probably irritated by and trying to ignore their talking. Her back was to them as she lay in her bunk.

Maybe I could off a few other campers and make it seem less obvious, Demon mused. Nah, I couldn't. I don't off innocent people. Hmm... who would I tell, though? Surely not Galen.. he's all "do what's right" and blah blah blah.. hmm.. maybe I need to call in a favor from a few friends..

  • Basil closed his eyes tightly and turned away before he shook his head, "No... I'm sorry. I'm not... I'm just tired and mad and..." He sighed softly as he rested his hand against his hands. "Just forget it, okay? I didn't... mean to make it sound like I don't care about you. I mean... you're probably the most nice person I've ever met.... I just... you can do whatever you want to my sweatshirt, okay? I mean... I have other things where as you don't. Not around here, anyways."

"Okay, maybe I should be more specific. No killing, just teaching a lesson," Kento commented as he clasped his hands together. "Which means anything I can heal, especially if it can be a slower more painful matter..."

"Again, why Kento?! Stop finding loopholes!" Riley protested as she folded her arms across her chest. "You'll get Demon into trouble too!"

  • Galen's eyebrows met in concern as he glanced back up at him. "I just don't want to do anything to it.. it'd feel wrong, you know, messing up something you gave to me in one of the kindest gestures I've ever received... I'd just like to be able to give it back." He smiled shyly, showing an adorable dimple, but his smile quickly faded as he added worriedly, "I'll go, so you can get some rest."

Demon sighed. Fiine... so, how would we go about that, then? I'm not sure in that case if it should be me, as reluctant as I am to say it. I'd probably get carried away and kill him anyway. She then frowned up at Riley. Hey. Trouble is what I'm all about. I'd say it was my middle name, but... it's the first name of another umbra demon I know, so saying that would feel kind of weird.

  • "What?" Basil asked with wide eyes as he looked up before frowning gently. "Don't worry, it's just a piece of fabric... there are other black sweatshirts out there." He paused before he stood up before gently catching his arm, staring downward at the ground as he flushed slightly. "But... thank you for caring so much... I mean... I appreciate hearing that."

"I can't. I'm not strong enough or clever enough to catch him off guard to do any real damage," Riley admitted meekly as she looked downward with a sigh. "I'm not crafty like my brother."

Kento frowned as he closed his eyes and shook his head with a soft sigh, "I don't know what to say, my dears..."

  • Galen's eyes widened and he stared down at him, blushing darkly and looking astonished. "U-um.." he stammered faintly, turning his face away shyly. "I-I.. it's nothing.."

Donovan's eyes also went wide and he abruptly grinned before quickly looking back down at his computer screen.

Guess it's up to me, then, murmured Demon slyly.

  • Basil flushed a bit more before slowly letting go of his arm, still not looking up from the floor. "You're wrong," He murmured softly as he shook his head, closing his eyes briefly. "That meant everything to me." He turned aside, covering his face with a hand before he pulled up his hood as if that'd hide his embarrassment from Donovan and Galen.

"What're you going to do?" Riley asked as she gazed at Demon with wide eyes of surprise.

  • Galen glanced up to stare at him in soft shock, blushing even harder. He rubbed the back of his neck slightly and murmured, "Well.. I'm.. glad I made you happy.. in the short time I've been here. You.. you deserve it, Basil."

Yeah, Demon said with round eyes, her voice overdramatic. What am I, a tiny harmless kitty, ever going to do? Hyehhehhehheh... she chuckled darkly.

  • Basil flushed darkly as he covered his mouth with a hand before mumbling, "You're too nice to me...."

Riley sweatdropped before she mumbled meekly, "Maybe I should tell Galen to keep an eye on you... Even if that guy's a jerk to my brother... I don't want him to get hurt really badly... I mean... it wouldn't make any of us better than him, right?"

  • Galen rubbed the back of his neck as he murmured awkwardly, "I don't know if there's such a thing as being too nice, especially to someone who deserves it.. but, um.."

Demon pouted. Unfair!! He'll make sure I can't do ANYTHING! I wouldn't do anything TOOO bad!! I promise!! she whined.

  • "That.... might be true but..." Basil mumbled as he looked downward, flushed with embarrassment.

"But Demon," Riley protested softly as she rubbed the back of her head. "That's not..."

"It's not our responsibility," Kento commented as he looked up from the young boy, standing up to get a thin blanket to gently drape over him. "What she does or doesn't do... we can't control her actions, Riley. We can only control our own."

  • Galen coughed, slowly backing up towards the door. "I-I.. should probably..."

Demon huffed. Yeah, listen to Kento. But since you insist, I'll try very hard not to harm him TOO bad. She made a face and looked away grumpily. Nobody ever lets me do anything fun.

  • Basil nodded meekly before he rolled onto his bed and hid his face into his pillow with muffled groan. I'm so embarrassed... what's with me?! I don't usually lose my cool!

"Eh, I don't really care. As long as he's not dead or in a permenent coma... anything's fine with me," Kento murmured quietly as he raised a finger to his lips, flashing her a wink. "Remember, you didn't hear that from me though."

  • Basil groaned and threw a blanket over his head. "Could one of you two stab me so I can just die from embarrassment?"

"Oh? Had I said something out loud? I must not have realized it," Kento mused as he turned aside, smiling wryly.

Riley let out a soft huff before she moved to gently stand up, "Fine, you two do as you do.... In the meantime, I'm going to check on the boy's."
