Jay|Male|4|No Family|Mate/Crush: None; Developing on Kyra|Stubborn, Adventurous, Smart, Rebellious

Jay listened to her words carefully, his auds perking at her last sentence. When he had spoken about his cold-bloodness it had been comedic, but she sounded so sincere... "You hardly seem like a curse to me." He assured her. Nibbling softly on his lower lip, the male lifted his hazel gaze to view the sun filtering through the treetops. It was beautiful here. He was glad he had come to this forest. "Why do you say that?" He asked at last, implying her statement about being as cold as the darkest nights of winter. He was earnestly curious now. He felt that perhaps there was some secret hiding behind her golden eyes, or at least a good story.

As he told her she didn't seem like a curse to him, she seemed to fold inwards, shaking her cranium slightly. She sighed and turned it away. "I've had a very rough history." She let out a harsh chuckle. "Well, rough doesn't even begin to describe it, honestly." She said. "I don't really feel comfortable talking about it." The female let the words fall from her maw as she considered her next movements. She raised her orbs, golden from the reflection of the setting sun, and they rested on the other canine.

Jay|Male|4|No Family|Mate/Crush: None; Developing on Kyra|Stubborn, Adventurous, Smart, Rebellious

Jay couldn't help but to feel a little hurt that she didn't want to talk to him. Of course, he knew that he shouldn't be upset if she didn't fully trust him. They'd only known each other a short time. But, his curiosity was making his chest ache. He bowed his head, hazel orbs staring at his raven paws. "That's okay, I understand..." He spoke at last, not wanting to push anything on her so suddenly. "Maybe some other time."
The male felt his belly grumble and he lifted his head, glad for the change in subject. "Hey, whatever happened to our hunting plans?" He queried, rising to his paws. Jay shook out his red fur, scanning the area with his brownish-green eyes. There had to be some prey around here somewhere. He was starving.

She dipped her head at him sadly as he accepted her words. "Thank you for understanding. It just hurts me speaking of my past." She said, the sadness so heavy in her words she dipped her head down and rested it on her paws. "Yeah, maybe some other time."

Aas he mentioned food her stomach growled too and she looked up at him. "I have no idea what had happened to our plans, but I am more than willing to carry on with them." She said, curling her paws beneath her stomach.

He offered her a small smile, glad that he had answered in an appropriate manner. He wanted to get to know Kyra a little better, and the last thing he wanted to do was to upset her overstep any boundaries. "Perfect." He chuckled, eager to go searching for prey. The male lowered his snout to the mossy woodland floor, trying to pick up on the scent of a delectable small animal. "Say, what are you in the mood for?" He yapped in question as he paced carefully around the clearing, his black nose glued to the earth.

"Hm, I don't know, but I feel a little... chirpy today." She said, dropping into a crouch next to him. "So let's go get us some birds!" She added, pressing her nose into the grass and exhaling.

The male chuckled, dropping his hindquarters and wiggling to show his enthusiasm. "I like the way you think." He yapped in approval. Jay took off at a trot, snorting through the mossy timber in search of a scent. "I smell a pheasant." He alerted her in a hushed tone, beckoning her over in his direction with his fluffy tail.

"I like the way I think, too." She agreed, watching his hindquarters move as he walked forwards. She followed him, her lobes up and alert, her tail swishing softly side to side to hide her paw steps behind her, a trick she learnt two years ago from her mother. As he alerted her to a bird her orbs glowed and she nodded, staying still and not moving.

The he-fox crept slowly through the underbrush, his hazel orbs wide and his auds cocked in alertness. He could smell the bird nearby, but he couldn't quite find it's location. He could hear Kyra close behind him, and it made him want to have a successful kill. He wanted to impress the fae. Finally, his pupils landed on the brightly-colored bird which was pecking away at the soil without a care in the world. The rooster's back was turned away from his attacker and the wind was in favor. This was all perfect. Bunching his hindquarters, Jay plotted his attack, scoping out the distance between him and the prey. Once committed, the male leapt through the air, a snarl rising in his throat as his jaws snapped onto the back of the bird's head. With a swift movement, Jay had snapped it's neck and it lay limply, it's wings still flapping slightly. He turned back towards the pretty she-fox, grinning around the mess of feathers. His tail wagged slightly as he made his way back over to her, pride in his greenish-brown eyes.

She watched closely as the male leapt, pinning the bird and snapping itsneck easily. She flicked her ear and sat down, wrapping her tail around her paws and giving him a small smile. "Nice catch." She complimented. She padded up to him and snatched a feather from his forehead with a small laugh, pulling it away from his face and hopping to the side, brushing her appendage against his muzzle.
