    Welcome to my world.

For years, foxes were solitary creatures. The forest they lived in, known as the Daylight Forest, was massive and never ending. The foxes often lived alone, or in small, family packs, and rarely encountered each other. But now, humans have discovered the Forest. Every day, more and more trees disappear, and the forest shrinks, forcing the forest’s inhabitants together. Will they work together to drive the humans out? Or will they fight and destroy themselves before the humans can?

    Help me take it back.

It was a quiet day in the forest. Wren had just finished a long nap in the warm, dappled sun, and stood up to shake herself out. Yawning, she stretched each of her legs, bowing forward to stretch her back. She blinked slowly, taking a look around her. The river she had settled next to was gurgling gently, and a few drinking rabbits noticed her waking up and darted into the underbrush, eyes wide. The grizzled silver fox smiled and her tail swayed gently. What a beautiful day! She rolled onto her back, exposing her soft, creamy-colored belly. Even upside-down, the world was still beautiful!

Her stomach rumbled and she hummed, frowning. Maybe it was time for an afternoon snack. Hopping back onto her feet, she bounded into the trees in search of something to hunt, nose lifted in the air to smell all the amazing smells.

    Jay|Male|4|No Family|Mate/Crush: None; TBD|Stubborn, Adventurous, Smart, Rebellious

Jay's hazel orbs peeled open, his black-tipped ears perking at the soft sounds coming from below. The brute was lodged comfortably in the crook of a large oak tree, his ginger pelt warm from the sun's heated rays. Stretching his jaws in a yawn, the male peered over the edge of his abode, searching for whatever had woken him from his slumber. His sights landed on a pale she-fox, rolling on her back in the brush beneath him. Releasing a bemused chuckle, Jay swished his tail thoughtfully, watching her enjoy the lovely weather. He opened his maw to greet her, but she'd bounded away into the coverage of the forest before he could form the words. The male rotated his auds in mild annoyance, a soft grumble rising in his throat. He was rather comfortable, but it was probably time he went for a hunt. He hadn't eaten all day. Perhaps he would run into the fae later on during his voyages. With the ever shrinking forest, it was pretty likely the pair would stumble across each other's paths again.

    Wren|Female|3|No family|Mate/Crush:none yet|Shy, independent, curious

(OOC) We don’t know the humans are there yet, we’ll run into them later :P

(IC) As she padded along, Wren suddenly caught wind of something delicious. She froze, nose in the air and ears swiveling every which way. Silence. Far into the forest, a raven croaked out a call that echoed through the trees. Wren waited, front paw lifted in preparation to run, body held low to the ground.

Suddenly, there! A tiny rustle in a pile of leaves just two feet in front of her. Her ear twitched and her head tilted to look at the movement below the ground cover, still waiting. The movement stopped. It must have smelled her. Before it had time to run, she leapt into the air and pounced right on the leaves, uncovering a now very-dead vole. Smiling, the vixen settled on her belly with her meal, holding it between her paws as she tore into its fur. Aware that her back was exposed, her ears stayed alert to listen for anything approaching her.

    Jay|Male|4|No Family|Mate/Crush: None; TBD|Stubborn, Adventurous, Smart, Rebellious

The red-furred fox slunk down from his position in the oak, his paws hitting the earth with a light thud. The male shook himself to fully awaken his muscles before beginning on his hunt. His belly grumbled, reminding him that it was mealtime. After several minutes of searching, Jay found himself on the fresh scent of a nearby raven. Lowering his body to the green foliage, the he-fox begin making his way in the direction of the ebony bird. He spotted it at last, his large hazel orbs honing in the feathered beast. He bunched his haunches in preparation to leap, but wasn't able to complete the action. The bird gave a squawk and with a flap of it's wings lifted itself from the forest floor and escaped into the treetops. Releasing a small grunt, Jay begin scanning the clearing for whatever had spooked his prey. His pupils landed on the figure of a familiar pale she-fox. It was undoubtedly the one from earlier that day. Cocking his ginger head, the male watched her momentarily, considering whether or not he should approach her.

  • Kyra|Female|2.5|Family/|Mate/Crush/Open for plotting|Mischevious, funny, sarcastic

IC Kyra opened her bright golden orbs and got up from her curled position. She stretched, feeling the fur on her spine stand up. "Ohhh gosh." She groaned, letting out a huge yawn and flicking her tongue out over her teeth. "What to do today..." She wondered to herself, then twitched an ear as her stomach grumbled. She sighed and hopped out of her little tree-trunk hole and shook her fur again. "Hooh!" She murmured, shaking her head and giving a little yap. She padded slowly into the forest and leapt over branches and trees with surprising quickness and agility, her paws skimming over the forest floor before catching sight of another scent. "Is that a fox?" She wondered, frowning.

    Jay|Male|4|No Family|Mate/Crush: None; TBD|Stubborn, Adventurous, Smart, Rebellious

The wind changed it's direction, guiding the scent of a second fox to his nostrils. Pinning back his auds, the male turned, his large brown optics scanning the area. "Hello?" He called softly, hoping to capture the attention of the other. He hadn't come across another canine in moons, and it would be nice to have someone to chat with again. Even if they didn't stay in each other's lives long, the temporary company would be nice. Swaying his bushy tail thoughtfully, Jay took a step deeper into the woodland, waiting hopefully for a reply.

  • Kyra|Female|2.5|Family/|Mate/Crush/Open for plotting|Mischevious, funny, sarcastic

Hearing another voice call out a soft 'Hello' the fur on the back of her spine shot up and she lifted her head, binking her orbs. "Hello." She replied in the same tone, swisning her bushy tail softly, mouth open to taste the air for the others scent. Catching a faint trace, she padded forwards, paws sinking in soft ground.

    Jay|Male|4|No Family|Mate/Crush: None; TBD|Stubborn, Adventurous, Smart, Rebellious

The ginger-furred fox swiveled his auds, capturing the gentle reply of his acquaintance. The male's bushy banner swayed gently, showing his pleasure. He hadn't spoken to another of his own kind in moons, and the mere voice was enough to excite him. "I mean no harm. My name's Jay." He woofed in greeting. His large, hazel oculars searched the setting for the individual he was speaking to. He strode in the direction of the she-fox, scanning the area for her.

  • Kyra|Female|2.5|Family/|Mate/Crush/Open for plotting|Mischevious, funny, sarcastic

Kyra stayed hidden in the hideout under a bush as she watched a male pad slowly to her. "I'm Kyra." She replied once learning his name was Jay. She blinked her almost-golden orbs as she watched him near before rushing her gaze to the ground again, kneading the soft snow with her paws but careful not to make a sound. She didn't want him to see her because she thought she didn't look much like a fox. But she was one.

oc: would you be interested if they eventually became mates or something?

    Jay|Male|4|No Family|Mate/Crush: None; TBD|Stubborn, Adventurous, Smart, Rebellious

OOC: I think that would be great!!! Kyra is super adorable!

Jay turned his head at her voice but still couldn't spot her. Flicking his black-tipped auds in confusion, the male continued to scan for the other fox. By her scent and the volume of her voice, he could tell that she was nearby. Was she hiding? "Hello, Kyra?" He spoke absently, tagging a question to the end of his phrase to show his obvious bewilderment. "Maybe I'm blind, but I can't seem to find you, m'lady." He chuckled, finally sitting down on the damp earth. He continued wafting his brown-green orbs over the clearing but waited for Kyra to speak again. He wasn't having any luck in finding her. Perhaps she didn't want to speak to him and was avoiding him? The thought slightly stung Jay, who longed to converse with another of his own species, but he didn't allow it to linger.

    Kyra|Female|2.5|Family/|Mate/Crush/Open for plotting|Mischevious, funny, sarcastic

This fox didn't seem to mind who she was, and he even called her M'lady. She stifled a laugh and allowed herself another glance at the tom, her bright orbs shining through the bushes. "You are not blind, kind sir." She replied. His emerald orbs were still scanning the clearing for her, and she took that as a sign that he could not find her. She let a small smile escape. "I am just hidden here, in the bushes."

    oc: Coolio!

    Jay|Male|4|No Family|Mate/Crush: None; TBD|Stubborn, Adventurous, Smart, Rebellious

The he-fox allowed a smirk to form on his maw at her reply, his hazel gaze flicking to the bushes where voice was most prominent. "Aha," He lifted himself from the earth and made his way towards the bushes and his new acquantince. Upon reaching the hedge, Jay relaxed back into a seated position, pressing an aud against the leaves to listen to her. "And what causes you to hide, Kyra? Surely I'm not that unattractive." He chuckled softly, wrapping his bushy tail around his black socks. Really, Jay was a rather vain fox so his words were purely comedic.

    Kyra|Female|2.5|Family/|Mate/Crush/Eventually Jay|Mischevious, funny, sarcastic

She could hear Jay move up to her until he was sitting right opposite her. Through the bushes she could see him press a lobe against the flora to hear her better. "And what causes you to hide, Kyra? Surely I'm not that unattractive." Jay chuckled softly, wrapping his bushy tail around his black paw. She let a small smile play on her thin face before replying. "It's not you, it's me. I'm the unattractive one here." She admitted, orbs casted down again in case he decided to poke his head in to take in her form.

    Jay|Male|4|No Family|Mate/Crush: None; TBD|Stubborn, Adventurous, Smart, Rebellious

Jay lifted his brows at her words, his dark tail-tip twitching. "Tsk tsk," He apprehended, shaking his slim face. "I can't agree nor disagree, as I haven't yet seen you. But you've got a lovely voice, Kyra, I know that much. It's melodic. I'd love to see it's owner." The male encouraged, running his tongue over his black nose. Shuffling his paws, the red-coated fox waited the female's reply. Many fae's had low self-esteem for reasons he couldn't understand. He found the majority of them very beautiful in their own little ways.
