  • Nothing had seemed off to Bodil when she returned to the large house. Aside from Professor Sycamore looking tired. Then again, she could've been seeing him that way. Considering what she had read. With Cynric now sitting outside in 'time out' for busting down the front door (The young Trainer apologized profusely), Bodil brought forward her notes and shared all she had learned on Route 2.

And then came the afterthought: "Oh! Professor, I forgot to mention...Um...How often does someone sight...A not-so-common Pokemon? Like...A Legendary?" Bodil shifted uneasily in her chair.

  • Professor Sycamore freezes and looks up from the notes Bodil had handed him. “Oh...” h sets them down and leans back in his chair, “well, it depends really. Lower tier Legendary Pokémon don’t hide as much. However, every once in awhile a trainer will see one more... higher tier, I guess I’ll say.” Inside, Sycamore was freaking out, thinking somehow that she was catching on. “Why do you ask?”

  • "Well...I...I saw Xerneas!"

Bodil sounded so unsure, yet so excited. Assuming the worst in response to her happy little discovery. She clapped her hands briefly, smiling nervously. "I-I thought my imagination was acting up. I did. But Cyn saw him too! I saw him! And his horns!" The straw-haired girl was so passionate about the stories of old. Stories she had grown up on and adored reading/hearing.

  • The Professor thinks about how he could answer this, not too sure what would give him away. "Bodil..." He starts and then stops. She was so happy and excited and he knew, Augustine knew how enraptured she was by the stories. "I will not lie to you," he knows he'll regret this. Something will give him away. "It is not... uncommon, for Xerneas to frequent here."

  • Why would that surprise her? Xerneas was part of the region's mythology. Like how Raikou and Entei were part of Johto's. "I must've been lucky." Bodil suggested. She felt lucky. Wishing she had brought a camera to take pictures. Oh, well. The memory was good enough. The broken door was her only regret.

  • "Certainly," he says and then continues with- "Who knows, maybe you'll have the chance to see him again." As soon as the pronoun leaves his lips, Sycamore is cursing internally at himself. An easy slip like that could set anyone off. A legendary pokemon being associated with a gender points to personal connections. There had been a case back in Sinnoh about Darkrai and Cresselia and a trainer who had met them and all hell broke lose when their genders had been reveled.
