Sorry about that. You can hear me now, can you?
I know you can. Don’t pretend.
You can’t respond, either way. This is a one-way call.
We don’t have much time. If you’re one of the poor souls pulled through the GATEWAY, you’re receiving this message.
You’ll wake up in a foreign land, one you have never seen before.
Dangerous. You may not believe your eyes.
You won’t understand everything at once, and I won’t be awake long enough to explain things to you. But your purpose is to fix this world. That’s your ticket back home.
Back to the “real world”.
They’ve hijacked my portal. You have to stop them before they gain even more influence.
Your first order of business: find a way to awaken me from my slumber.
The clock is ticking, and we all will lose something if it we run out of time.
[ With that said, let us begin. ]

The first thing Sorrel becomes aware of is the fact that he has one hell of a headache.
The second thing is that there's grass up his nose, and that's what ultimately wakes him up, because he has no idea why there would be grass up his nose. He rolls over with a splutter, realizing it's in his mouth too, and it tastes nasty, and--there are trees looming high above him, sunlight filtering through.
Utterly confused, Sorrel sits up, grimacing and pressing a hand to his temple in a vain attempt to soothe the pounding. When he looks around, he realizes that there are several other people sprawled out in the grassy clearing, all in various degrees of wakefulness.
Oh, joy.

It's always forests, Camellia thinks glumly.
The forest in question she's talking about is lush and alive, so she's at the very least thankful that it's not a gloomy one, because then she'd already be preparing to die. That's how all horror movies start, after all. But at the same time, Camellia's not sure where she is other than a clearing in a forest. Given that she spends most of her time at home and in front of a computer, there's no way she'd recognize where she is.
She's not alone, either. There are a lot of other people, all conked out, none of which she recognizes which instantly puts her on guard. Sighing quietly, Camellia makes herself comfortable against the tree trunk. While she doesn't know these people, she'd really rather not take her chances out there in the forest on her own.

Embarrassingly enough, it's the fact that he can't feel his sunglasses on his face that startles Lynx awake.
It's not that he sleeps with sunglasses on--that'd damage them and his beautiful face--but usually he can find them easily by groping around on his bed, and all he gets is a fistful of green grass. With a muttered curse, Lynx pushes himself up, immediately suspicious. His blue eyes dart around, noting instantly that he's not alone. There are people around here, and his sunglasses are nowhere to be seen, and this is already shaping up to be a shitty day.
