  • Hau wasn't sure what to think of Sabrina, cool, its nice she spoke English- but she was creepy? That didn't settle well with Hau, he easily was creeped out and just knowing that she was like that spooked him. He wouldn't let Gladion know that though, he hated feeling week because he was nervous.

As they travel to Saffron, Hau looks around the route, eyeing all the pokemon that seemed to live here. There were Growlithe and Vulpix and Meowth, as well as Pidgeotto nesting in the trees. "I like being around all these "new" pokemon," he says suddenly, "I don't know why, it's just different than back home."

  • Gladion has battled 4 gym leaders so far, and only 2 seemed to know English. One was arrogant, the other super creepy. He pretty much wished they spoke in a language he didn’t understand. Feel free to ask him about the other 2 if you want his opinion on them. “Kanto has different Pokémon than Alola. It’s normal to be fascinated” Gladion said.

  • ooc: since they're going to be arriving in Saffron soon, i.e. Pokémon Tokyo, I think it's time for me to sort out the tourist attractions. this is gonna be a long one

That took a long time to type out. I'm going to sleep now

  • Hau tears his eyes away from the pokemon and back to Gladion, "You have 4 badges right? What are the other leaders you battled like?" They couldn't all be rude and creepy, could they?"

oos: Oh my gosh, you've written up so much! I feel blessed

  • “No” Gladion confirmed. “Hmm...Celedon was a grass type gym. The leader was named Erika. She was pretty nice and polite. Wore a lot of kimonos, has a perfume shop, and teaches a flower arrangement class” he described.

“Then there’s Janine...she uses poison types, and her gym is run entirely by ninjas. I didn’t fall for any of their tricks, though” Gladion bragged, puffing out his chest.

He fell for all their tricks.

Ooc: I was up til 3am writing that

  • Erika sounded nice and Hau's slightly disappointed he didn't get the chance to meet her. Janine's gym sounded cool as well, "You didn't fall for any of them? Wow, you must be really good then!" He boosts, happy for his traveling partner.

  • Hau blushes a little at Gladions pose and tried to conceal it with an awkward cough into his fisted hand. When he shifted his eyes, he spotted something sitting on the ground at the base of a tree. "Is that..." it looked like a little bird, but it was all brown, covered in mud maybe? With a closer look, it was a Pidgey that was attempting to shake all the mud off to no avail.

"Awe, I wonder what happened for it to be covered like that?" Hau thinks of the moves his pokemon knew and wishes that one knew a water move. "Hold on a second, I feel so bad for it." He drops his bag and pulls out his water bottle, which he filled before he left with Gladion. A dark t-shirt is also grabbed so he can wipe away the mud. As he approaches, the little bird freezes and stares him down, it struggles to attempt to fly away before staying grounded. Hau carefully kneels down, "I'm just going to help clean you up," he tries to sooth. He's not as good at this as Gladion is.

  • "Ow!"

    And that it did.

Hau rubs his hand before setting down the water and shirt, he reaches out once more before grabbing Pidgey. The bird was rather smaller than ones he'd seen before, meaning he was able to secure the Pidgey with one hand bracing its little wings. The normal type struggled at first, lashing out with its little clawed feet before it eventually calmed enough for the Alolan to start cleaning it.

"I'm doing just fine, Gladion. See," He shows what he'd managed to get clean so far. Pidgey's face could now be seen and if it could scowl, the little bird would be.

  • Hau chuckles and hurries up, completely cleaning the bird off. Now that he could get a good look at it's feathers, he could see that the Pidgey was a dark tan and sandy colour. Pidgey squirms in his hands before once more pecking the boy, earning another "ow." Hau releases the tiny bird, who hops off of his lap and back onto the grass. Pidgey quickly looks itself over before turning to look at Hau and Gladion. Before he knows it, Pidgey flies a short distance to his bag before digging through it. "Hey-" There's a flash of red and suddenly the bird is gone.

"Did, did I just get a Pidgey?"

Hau says goodbye to Komala and welcomes Pidgey to his team.

  • “I guess. Off to Saffron”

Saffron was HUGE. It’s a really big city, being the capital and all. Gladion quickly proved that he actually got lost here pretty easily. All the signs are written in kanji, okay!

In regards to souvenir shopping, he made a rule for Hau: “if you can’t carry it in your bag, mail it back home”

  • Saffron wasn't what Hau expected, but then again, he wasn't sure what he expected exactly. He should've figured it would be big, seeing as it is the capital. The Alolan finds himself staring at everything and drawn to almost anything, the reason for Gladions rule. He doesn't grab anything, however, and instead waits to see what he could find later.

    "This place is amazing, Gladion!"

  • A small found makes way to Hau's handsome face. "You don't seem to like looking around do you?" He bumps shoulders with Gladion as they walk, "Come on, enjoy yourself, live a little. Whens the next time you'll be here, huh?"
