It was no lie that HawkClan had been a little quiet lately. Poe found he didn't mind. The ground was now completely dry, and slowly the Clan was starting to make their way back to the ground below. This was the last time he would be hosting a meeting in this hollow, or so he hoped. He was ready to return to normal life on the ground. "HawkClan, gather for a meeting!" He paused momentarily, watching Yavin flutter over, before starting again.

"I only have a few announcements. No new joiners this week, but we do have quite a few invites and events. First, the Thunderlands invited us to a rabbit hunt in their territory, and the Frontier invited us to a stargazing event. In-Clan, John Doe. it's your turn to host weekly tasks. Also, our clean-up has begun! Be sure to check that out. I might invite some allies to help out there- do you guys think that's a good idea? Ambassadors, unless you just want to, you can have this week off. Let's focus on getting our territory back in order. I want to give shoutouts to everyone who's stuck around. Let's get ourselves back on track, I want to have some people to promote next week." He gave a teasing laugh, "Alright, I don't think I missed anything. I want to take the rest of this time to discuss what our new traditions of the hawk feathers will be. I'll let everyone get situated first though." He paused here and awaited if anyone had a comment or question.

  • The male came earlier this week, hearing the call and rushing over. It was a small meeting, but hopefully the clan would soon get back on its feet, especially with the flood almost gone. The hallow was a pain to stay in, and he often went down to the ground, it wasn't like he couldn't anyways. Soon enough he would be back in the camp and not sardined into the small hallow. He sat quietly waiting for others to arrive to discuss the traditions.

  • Another meeting? It felt like the last meeting hadn't been too long ago, but more meetings wasn't a bad thing in of itself. Walking over at the sound of Poe's familiar call, Piedpiper quietly took a seat, watching on. It was fairly general, with only invitations and event mentions. Ears pricking at the mention of the feathers, the young tabby remained silent, waiting for the rest of his clanmates to arrive.

Hmm, two? Alright then. Poe smiled at the two gathered and began speaking again. "Okay! So we need to decide what feathers we want for each rank and title. The titles are already the names of some birds, like dove and hawk and such. I think perhaps we should change the name of the hawk title? We will already have a hawk feather to wear from the hawk that we are bonded with, and a variety of feathers would be much more appealing. Maybe change eagle as well? The titles can just be smaller birds. So we can have dove, finch, owl, and maybe woodpecker? Woodpecker can replace fledgling, and we can save hawk for our hawks, and eagle for another rank. Oh! And maybe ambassadors can have a parrot feather?" Poe was just talking now, eager to get this idea rolling. Did the others like it?

  • Piedpiper blinked, a little surprised by how quickly the meeting was preceding, but he only spared a brief glance at Ravelights before refocusing on Poe and his words. He had done a little research into HawkClan's customs since the last meeting, so this time he was a little more prepared. "If we're going to change 'eagle', we could also change it to 'war hawk'." That title seemed a little more self-explanatory and perhaps could be more appealing to newer members who were still trying to learn more about HawkClan and their customs.

"I actually really like 'fletching', but 'woodpecker' sounds just as fine, I don't really have strong feelings, just a slight preference. But maybe we could also make a new title like 'stork'? Like maybe a member who is really innovative, one who takes initiative like by hosting events or by contributing to important clan discussions and generally performing their duties consistently?" He was just trying to throw ideas around.

"If 'hawk' and 'war hawk' are too similar maybe we could change 'hawk' to something like 'jay' or 'crane'?" In his mind, he had always associated cranes with longevity.

  • EVEN IF YOU CANNOT HEAR MY VOICE

    belladonna arbor / hawkclan & shaman + warchief / [♀] / tags & information

*:・゚✦ Belladonna slipped in late, but she was already a little excited by the suggestions being thrown back and forth - "I'm fine with anything. I like the sound of crane - and parrots for ambassadors." she chirped, glancing between her clanmates.

    "Speech."

I'LL BE RIGHT BESIDE YOU DEAR

  • "I agree with Belladonna" he said, focusing on Poe. "Instead of hawk we could have cardinal? And instead of Eagle we could have Owl?" they seemed like fitting names to him, but he couldn't have the opinion on the rest of the clan. He decided he would state each rank and what he seemed would fit the feather. "Maybe for normal members of the clan with no promotions they could get a hawk feather, as that is our standard and original bird. A guard could get a finch or bluejay feather. A regent could get a Rooster feather. A trust could get a ducks feather. A shaman trainee and a shaman could get a swans feather, unless people want them to have different feathers. A sentinel could have a vulture feather, and a Warchief a falcon feather. Maybe the monarch could then end up with the eagle feather? And yes, a parrots feather could be ambassadors" he listed ideas off, hoping the others would agree with them.

Ravelights had some excellent ideas. "I like the idea of Crane instead of Hawk. And then Parrots for ambassadors and Stork for innovative and social members. Yeah, those sound great! I think we should also change the Owl title into the Stork title. We have ranks for medicine, so I think a title for it is a little redundant as well. And maybe have all members considered 'hawks'? Then we can do War Hawk for the Eagle title." He agreed, brown eyes flickering over everyone present. "So:

    Monarch - Eagle feather

    Warchief - Falcon feather

    Sentinel - Vulture feather

    Shaman - Owl feather

    Shaman Trainee - Swan feather

    Trust - Duck feather

    Regent - Rooster feather

    Guard - Bluejay feather

Regular Member/Hawks - Hawk feather and/or feather from their companion

Stork (changed from Owl) Title - Stork feather

Crane (changed from Hawk) Title - Crane feather

Woodpecker (changed from Fledgling) Title - Woodpecker feather

    Finch Title - Finch feather

War Hawk (changed from Eagle) Title - Painted hawk feather

All feathers can be worn as a necklace and when a warrior dies their necklace can be buried with them, along with all of their feathers."
