  • As it turned out, Wolfgang's feet could carry him just about anywhere. He had taken a bit of a break from BloodClan- the tensions and stress were a bit much for him, as he tended to be rather emotional. To make matters worse, he bottled things up. A lot. Seeing these new sights, though, was nice. It was a shame that most of the pretty scenery had been claimed as clan territory. Those selfish little forest monsters. Still, BloodClan was equally stingy with their own borders. Well, cats were allowed to wonder as long as they carried with them the understanding that they could get killed. Wolfgang wondered if trespassers were threatened with death in the clans. He neared what smelled like a border, and figured he would find out soon. Still, he hoped nobody found him. He was looking for some rabbit. Hopefully SkyClan had rabbits.

    blithe.

  • Today was an excellent day for hunting, and luckily for Poppystar, she had not been stuck on some sort of border patrol that would prevent her from doing something more pleasant while the nice weather lasted. It was a somewhat risky decision, but she had decided to head out toward the BloodClan border this morning. She didn't come here very often anymore, not since she had had a rather unfortunate run-in with a dog during the seemingly endless heatwave this summer, but she was beginning to feel like it might be time for some sort of change. Maybe it was time to move on completely. Today wasn't much, but it was a step.

Her hunting had been successful so far, and by sunhigh, she found herself at the border, staring off at the distant shapes of twoleg nests. It was a familiar sight, but one she had been avoiding looking at for a long time. Not wanting to get caught up in emotions, Poppystar turned away to go collect her prey and head back to camp, but she was distracted by the fresh scent of a BloodClan cat. The fur on the back of her neck pricked up as she paused. Slowly, she padded toward it, careful not to make too much noise. BloodClan hadn't bothered SkyClan in moons, but perhaps they were getting riled up with the warm weather.

She didn't know what she had expected, but she didn't run into a vicious-looking cat setting up some elaborate trap or maiming a kit. She instinctively relaxed at the sight of the cat in front of her. He was too young to be a warrior, but he looked like he might be the same age as an older apprentice. While he didn't look particularly friendly, he also didn't seem like killing her brutally was on his current agenda, and so she was calm.

"You wouldn't happen to be considering crossing that border, would you?" she asked without a hint of hostility in her voice. If anything, the question sounded like a joke.

  • Wolfgang's thoughts were interrupted at the sound of a cat's voice. The voice was not hostile or angry, though, not like most forest cats'. What an odd scenario. Usually his presence was greeting by strangers with nothing but defensive and repulsed attitudes. He looked at the light brown furred molly, his left side facing away from her as he briefly tried to hide it. He supposed he was a bit embarrassed by his grotesque appearance. "The thought lingered for a bit, I must admit. Does your territory contain rabbits? They are quite tasty. My favorite, in fact." He hoped she said yes, but then again, he sort of just revealed his intent to her- to steal a rabbit. He wanted his little brother and his little- uhm, whatever Mittens was to him, he wanted the two boys to have an actual meal, not just sewer rats. Maybe if he swooned the leader with the woeful tale of his tiny little buddies, forced to eat nothing but left over, diseased rodents, she would take pity on him and give him what he wanted. Pathos was a strong appeal.

  • Poppystar frowned at his mention of considering crossing the border. She hadn't expected him to say that he had. However, his change of subjecy distracted her. Why would he want to know if they had rabbits in SkyClan? Poppystar wasn't quite sure, but she gave him an answer anyways. "Unfortunately, we don't have that many. You're better off looking for rabbits in WindClan, but that's pretty far away," she explained. However, she didn't want to make it seem like SkyClan wasn't as good as WindClan, so she continued, "We have lots of birds though! I've caught four birds just this morning. We have thrushes, larks, robins, y'know. All sorts of birds. Why?" Maybe she was talking too much, but she was beginning to forget that this cat smelled like BloodClan, and so her natural tendency to socialize was taking over.

  • No rabbits, huh? Well, she did say not many, which meant there was a chance a rabbit resided somewhere, possibly. Trushes and birds were much too bony. He thought birds were kinda gross, too. At her request for an explanation, he figured there'd be no harm in letting her in on his little secret. Maybe she'd manage to find a rabbit somewhere. "I have this little brother, you see, and he has had a rough week. Would you believe DarkClan had the audacity to torture a kit? I wish to make him feel better with a meal- a real meal, not some sewer rat. A big, tasty rabbit. Does that sound like a good idea?" He ended his story with an inquiry. Perhaps she had a better recommendation for a welcome-home-meal. Besides birds, they were gross. Wolfgang was a bit surprised with himself- he had a calm, friendly, social interaction with somebody outside his family- and it was more than four words! Good going, Wolfie, you're learning to talk to others. Admittedly, there was a bit of an ulterior motive to his speech. His little bit about DarkClan hurting his little brother was true- they'd taken the poor kid's claw, but he'd mentioned it with the hopes of gaining the other cat's disapproval. He could sit there and rant for hours. Gross little creatures, those DarkClanners were.

  • Poppystar gasped in horror at the cat's story about DarkClan. Torturing a kit? It seemed unlike Lilystar to allow such horrible things to happen, but then again, DarkClan had done bad things in the past. She nodded absently in response to his second question, having only heard a fragment of what he said. "Do you know the name of the DarkClanner that hurt your brother? I'd like to have a word with their leader about this," she said, sending a worried glance in the direction of DarkClan's territory. What were they up to?

Her own question brought her mind back to the cat in front of her. "As a matter of fact, what's your name? I completely forgot to ask. I'm Poppystar," she introduced, looking at him expectantly.

  • Wolfgang had yet to be provided a name for the attacker. It seemed both his brother and his mother knew not the name of the cat who tortured them. Which infuriated him. He wanted revenge. Her mention of having a word with Lillystar reminded him of the DarkClan leader's refusal to do anything to find his little brother, on the grounds that they were BloodClanners and stubbornly refused to believe any DarkClanner could capture a kid. Stubborn bitch. He was a bit surprised that he'd managed to meet the SkyClan leader. "Poppystar. You must be a leader, then. For a forest cat, you aren't half bad. My name is Wolfgang." Now, back onto the topic at hand. "I never caught the name, neither did my brother. They took his claw, though. Bastards. Lillystar said she didn't know anything about it, but didn't bother trying to figure out who it was. I'll find out who did it, though. Whoever it was hurt my brother and my mom. You need not bother, kind Poppystar. I will make his attacker suffer. Until then..." Wolfgang looked around, and sniffed the air. "I think a rabbit will suffice. You said they reside in WindClan?"
