The Mushroom War

After about a half hour they managed to chase all of the Koopas away.

Mario looked up at then with a weak smile “You guys are a sight for sore eyes...”

“Honestly it’s ok... we hadn’t expected you guys to come anyway... heh..” Mario flinched in pain before Tails helped get the chains off of him

“Well because honestly we thought you guys either wouldn’t notice since you haven’t come here in a month, or even if you did notice you would t care enough”

“So Mario how have you been?”

“Tails honestly how do you think I am? ... watching my home get taken over by Bowser and torn apart by war... then getting captured and taken prisoner, tortured and beaten on a daily basis to the point I lose sight in one eye and lose an ear... starved to the point of near death... and if you guys had arrived anytime later, they would have drowned me in that water by now. That’s what the heavy chains were mainly for... so I would sink to the bottom of the ocean and be unable to get out before drowning.... how do you think I’ve been...?”

“Yeah... my bad... stupid question.”

“Hang on guys...” Mario’s ear twitched “Get back to the others.. I hear more Koopas approaching”

“I got these guys. I’ll join you after so they don’t follow us.. just get back to camp.”

Bump

Tails reluctantly nodded, then started heading back to the Mushrommians’ Base

About a half hour later

Mario stumbled back into the camp grounds, to which all of his family and friends rushed to him in a hug

“Mario what’s happened to you?!”

“It’s a long story...”
