  • He nodded softly and glanced away for a moment, blushing with embarrassment. He wasn't used to being praised. "It's the last I can do." He shrugged it off. "Can I ask a favor of you? I won't take much energy, I don't think."

  • He smiled very softly and looked at him quietly, sitting down in a chair and looked at the shivering body that he welcomed onto his couch. "Why do you need that necklace so badly?"

  • Arian blinked in surprise, then was silent for a moment. If it had been anyone other than the individual who had risked their life to give the necklace back to him, then he would have refrained from asking such a question. "It's an important tradition," he said quietly. "I'm supposed to give it to my soul mate, when I find them."

  • Oliver nodded softly when he explained it in such a simple way. "I can understand traditions," He told him, shrugging a little. "I have a tradition of giving my first ripened, undamaged strawberry to the youngest child in the village as a welcome to spring and the new." He chirped, smiling at Arian warmly. "Do you want some soup to warm up your bones?"

  • He smiled st him softly and giggled, going to go get him something to have to eat. "It's no problem sweetie, you need it." He chirped, going to make some soup. "Besides, I cook good."

  • Arian tilted his head in surprise and confusion at Oliver calling him "sweetie", a term he had never heard before. He shrugged it off and smiled at Oliver kindly. "I'm sure you do."

  • Oliver blinked when he saw him looked at him in surprise and confusion. "It's a term of endearment. If you don't like it, I don't have to use it.."He told him softly, starting to cook.

  • "Endearment," Arian repeated, as if he'd never heard of that before either. He shrugged slightly. "It's fine, you can call me whatever you want," he said carelessly.

  • He snickered and started to throw things into a small pot on an oven. It was an old thing, the kind that they had to put wood in the bottom of. "My oven will really warm the house up." He told him. "...Have You never had anyone call you a sweet name?" He asked Arian. "Like sweetheart or hun?"

  • Arian smiled softly at him, looking rather surprised but grateful all the same. He didn't have any grasp on the potential romantic implications behind those names. He dipped his head slightly in thanks.

  • He snickered at him and simply continued to cook. He didn't know what to say to him or honestly anything good to take about. He was just glad to be home.

  • Oliver smiled softly when he glanced over the counter to see the other relaxing in his tiny living room. He didn't say a word about it, he just let him relax. When the soup was done, he brought it to Arian on a little tray in a bowl. "Do you want some more tea?" He asked so softly, going to go get himself something to drink. "Tomorrow when we go to tell them you helped me bring the treasure back, you have to be very slow and calm okay? They're scared of dragons."

  • "I'm okay," Arian murmured earnestly. "Thank you." He dipped his head in agreement with Oliver's request. "That's understandable. I am a fearsome and awe-inspiring creature. Of course."

  • Oliver smirked a bit at him. "You've pride in yourself I see." He chirped, coming back with his own bowl of soup. He sat in the little chair, and wiped off his forehead with a hankerchief before he began to eat. The oven, being simply cast iron and used coal and logs to cook, made the house very hot.
