Emma eyed the cat as it jumped on the bed. She picked it up and placed in on the floor, before laying in the bed on her own. “Don’t you have a bedroom of your own? One that’s bigger with gold ceilings and drapes to spare?” She asked, a bit of annoyance still in her voice. She normally wouldn’t act this way around cats, but she knew it was obviously Anubis. After all, no one had stepped foot in the temple. Probably not even Animals.

The black cat hiss as he was hauled off the bed glaring at her as she plopped him on the floor like a common enough pest. Lashing his tail he sprung himself back on the bed laying himself flat across the pillow. It was obvious the jig was up though. "This is my temple, you came insulted me and now want to take one of my rooms?" Huffing he rolled his eyes and laid himself flat out still claws sliding out daring her to try and move him from where he was laying again. "If you were at least polite enough to ask.." He trailed off making it clear he wanted her to formally ask him before she just decided to take part of his temple for her own. He might not have a problem with sharing if she had simply accepted his offer to begin with. The god of death stretched leaping off the pillows afterwards. Once on the floor he transformed back into his more natural form moving his jaw this way and that, talking in his other forms was possible, but felt very unnatural.
-
“Excuse me? I was being polite and only stood my guard when you yelled at me for having some common decency, so don’t act like you’re the complete saint with your condescending ways.” Emma sighed, rubbing her temples. “Look, I know we both don’t want to be staying in the same, temple, but looks like we have no choice. Now if you may please let me stay here, go to YOUR own room, and let me sleep here in peace, that would be very much appreciate it. And if you could cease your attitude, I might even thank you.” She said, pointing her clawed finger to the door. She was the type of person not to take anything from anyone. Not even from a god. “Besides, at least we’re not sleeping in the same bed.” She fired, rolling over in the bed to face the wall as opposed to his face.
-
The jackal headed god scoffed shaking his head for a moment turning away losing any motive to interact with her anymore then he already had. Without another word he left, his claws dragging along the wall as he left. Once he had left her alone he growled to himself as he placed his clawed hands on the wall. It began to crack and shift opening a doorway. Ducking down into the tunnel he closed the passage back up to go to his own room. He was boiling with anger as he stared ahead in the darkness. What was the point of any of this? He wanted this mortal gone from his temple, but it did not seem he would be able to have his space. Growling he turned the hall that opened into the center of the temple which sprawled out into a massive lavish room.

Emma shifted in her bed a bit. She didn’t understand, she had been reasonable the whole time, it was Anubis that was the problem. He lashed out for no reason, and even acted pretentious and unnecessarily rude BEFORE Emma snapped. She sighed, shaking her head. She would never understand him. At least the bed she was sleeping in was incredibly comfortable. She closed her eyes and began to dream.
-
The god had no real use for sleep, sometimes he imitated it to get a break from the mindless tedium of the hours as they slowly slipped by without much else for him to do. He was lonely, that much he could at least admit to himself, but he couldn't ever bring himself to say it out loud. He laid staring up at the ceiling, still cursing the fact he now had to put up with a stubborn female now. Maybe he preferred it to be entirely alone, but not by much. Closing his eyes the darkness didn't change much, but he did it anyway. Anubis was questioning what exactly was the point of fate slating the two of them together. How was he supposed to put up with her for the rest of eternity? It hardly like something even he could manage.

While she had been sleeping, after a while, Emma grew restless. It was still the middle of the night, so she had no idea why. She decided to get out of bed and continue to explore. She waltzed through the hallways of the temple, only lit by torches. However, some beautiful blue light caught her eye. She turned to find a large room with a giant pool in the center. Why not. I’ve had a stressful day. She thought to herself. She quickly took a few minutes to change into a bathing suit she had brought on the trip, a black two piece, and slid quietly in the pool. Despite the room only being lit by the aqua blue light of the pool and the striking green of Emma’s eyes, it looked very pretty. Emma sighed, finally having some peace and quiet. She began to do some swimming, quiet a part from the lovely tune she was humming. Her parents always told her she had a beautiful voice, but Emma would always brush them off as simple compliments. Her real focus was always on adventure, not music. Though still, to any jackal person, she looked absolutely beautiful in that pool.
-
Although he hadn't been sleeping he had his eyes resting shut. This was until his keen ears caught movement. He growled already guessing it was her, probably poking her nose around his temple. His eyes opened and the god sat up in the massive bed. He stood up and stalked down the hallways easily able to track her echoing footsteps through the temple. By the time he had arrived the female was swimming in the blue pool he frowned seeming ready to come in to snap at her for swimming water that was meant for purifying souls not swimming in. But, he stopped short in the archway hearing her humming to herself. His ears perked up as his amber eyes watched her every movement. Crossing his arms over his chest he stayed silent simply watching her in silence.

OOC: Sorry that my Muse almost dropped off the face of this Earth! (Also Sorry, I just wanted Anubis and Emma to have a warm moment for once where Anubis finds her to be somewhat beautiful, lol.)
IC: Emma had not noticed Anubis yet, for she was off in her own little world. Swimming have Emma a nice feeling. The she jackal stood upright in the water. Her new form was larger thus giving her the ability almost stand in the water. She began to pour some water on her fur, while humming her melody. During some durations, her humming almost turned into actual singing, complete with a bit of a hip swaying, courtesy of Emma.
-
(Its all good!)
The god stood back watching her, of course he probably should have left her be. There wasn't anything better for him to do though. Sighing he found a slight amused smile coming across his face seeing her dancing right along with her own singing. Then he shook his head not really wanting to get too wrapped up. Turning around to leave he thought for a moment before snapping his fingers and leaving the entrance way. Above the pool were heads carved in his likeness with their jaws open. From the larger head water began to come out in a light stream and the torches on the wall lit themselves up. By the time all this happened though Anubis was no where to be found leaving her in peace for once with out causing a nuisance.
-
Emma’s ear twitched as she heard something close up from behind. She turned around but quickly shot back as she noticed some torches were lit. At first she was startled by the sudden occurrences, but then she stopped and smiled to herself. Perhaps Anubis wasn’t all he seems. Emma chuckled. She walked out of the pool and shook herself off like a dog would. Thankfully there was no chlorine in the pool, so Emma walked to her bedroom, pulled the blankets up, and closed her eyes, her grin still on her face.

The god of death went to stalking around the temple since there was absolutely nothing else for him to do unless he wanted to feign sleeping again. Slipping into the form of a black dog he trotted towards the front entrance climbing over a fair amount of rubble and downed statues to get there. Once seated just a top the set of stairs that lead to his temple he looked out at the moon ending its journey into the night. He stayed there until the morning came back around, like he always did. With the sun safely in the sky he turned heel and trotted back into the temple. He stretched sighing as he looked around. Utter boredom was already starting to creep into the back of his mind at the thought of how little there was to do to occupy himself.
-
Smells had spread throughout the temple that morning. Emma had found a small room with a simplistic ancient stove and a few dwarers with herbs lying around. She had decided to use some food she had brought in her pack to make herself some breakfast. Emma moved about the skillet, preparing her favorite fruity breakfast crepes. After doing a lot of thinking the night before, Emma had decided to leave out an extra plate of crepes for Anubis himself, just to see how he’d react. Of course it was nice of him to leave her alone in the pool, but then again, the negative of him screaming a her sort of outweighed the positive, so Emma really didn’t know kbow what to think of him yet.
-
He perked up smelling the scents drifting through the temple. Shifting in to his Jackal humanoid form following the scent having a suspicion it was because of the mortal still present of his temple seeming ready to make herself at home even though she had turned him down already. Rolling his eyes the god continued down the hall until he located where the scent came from. Sticking his head into the old kitchen he gave a loud sigh when he saw that yes in fact was occupying more and more of his temple. Anubis raised a brow see she was eating and there was an extra plate set out. He crossed his arms over his chest making no real moves for the plate instead focusing on the woman. "It seems like you're going to stay here for the time being then huh?" He sighed a little slowly ambling his way into the room.
-
“Good morning to you too,” She shot back in her casual deadpan voice. “I know we both don’t like this, but there’s not much I can do when it comes to living back in the human world in this form. Besides I can’t find my way out.” She muttered the last part under her breath.
-
The jackal only snorted in response to her snarky response. It seemed like she wasn't going to become any easier for him to deal with. "Unfortunately for both of us as well I can't undo what's bee done. You are stuck that way." Anubis spelled it out without much remorse for the fact, it was just mildly inconvenient to him was all. He could still hear her mutterings under her breath as well. "You could always ask the god this temple was built in honor of. Or you could just keep ending up in different rooms." Shrugging he looked down at the plate for a moment seeming to be considering it. He didn't have to eat, but similar to sleep he could do it if he wanted to try to.
-
“Well I found the kitchen and the bedroom, so that’s all that matters,” she joked. “But in all seriousness, I’ll let you know if I need to be shown around so thanks.” She said, plating herself and sitting down. She noticed Anubis eying her crepes. “You can have some if you want. I made them for you, you know. Besides I need to talk to you about something.”
-
The joke seemed to fly right over his head as he looked at her. He slowly nodded his head looking towards the crepes still not seeming very sure of it. He sighed a little when she brought up that she wanted to talk to him. Taking a few crepes before turning to look at her. "What do you need to speak to me about?" The god asked with narrowed eyes seeming to be trying to decipher ahead of time what she intended to say. He laid the crepes down looking at them as if they were a puzzle. He hadn't eaten for a long time so he poked at them trying to decide how best to eat them.
-
“Look, I know what you did last night and I know that as a god you must be incredibly responsible, thus I have deducted that you could have some good in you. So, I’m still not getting together with you, but I think that, if you let me help you, we can make you less abrasive to the point of you getting a mate and potentially fulfilling the prophecy.” Emma said, waving her fork around in the air as she spoke. She took a big old bite of her crepes before looking at Anubis’s carefully analyzing face. “You know you can eat that. That’s the whole reason why I made extra.”
-
To start off with he didn't seem to know what direction she was going when she started speaking. He narrowed his eyes though when she said she could help him so that he could find a mate and get this whole prophecy business done with. His lip drew back in a slight snarl, offended by her saying that he needed to change just to have another chance at finding a mate he glared at her for a moment fighting the urge to snap at her about how much of a ridiculous idea this really was. "How exactly would you do that?" He muttered still keeping the narrowed gaze. Looking down at the crepes again he picked up a fork although still was looking at it oddly. "I barely remember how to eat." He grumbled taking a small piece of the crepe eating it looking down at the plate the entire time he did. It felt so odd to him still even now.
