  • WILL MACAULAY

God, Will was sick of walking. He supposed it was easy to tire of anything when one had been at it for hours, but he was particularly over this particular activity. Whose idea was it to find a new home, again? To suddenly take an interest in the group living lifestyle? Not his, that was for damn sure. He was willing to admit that he and Kodaline's current state of existence wasn't great, but he wasn't all that interested in getting to know more people, to be honest. Being around others meant he was constantly at risk of growing to attached to someone, or letting them grow too attached to him, and that was not something he could risk. He could barely manage Koda on most days, and that had never gone particularly well.

(He wished they could just have a normal sibling bond, wished he could tell her he cared about her, but he would never dare. No, revealing too much of his own emotions would only endanger her, and he couldn't do that. He would have to settle for this pseudo-rivalry they maintained.)

Maybe it was fate that they ended up on this particular border, but Will didn't believe much in fate. In reality, it was more so that he was sick of venturing from territory to territory, debating which one looked more home-y. None of them looked home-y to him, and he doubted that any of them would. Might as well just give up already and settle for this... beach. "Here we are, Koda. Home sweet home. There is no way I am walking to another group today, so either we declare our undying loyalty to this place or we stay the night and hit the road again tomorrow," the black wolf said, blandly. His green stare flickered over the foreign territory slowly, but he didn't see anything interesting yet. "Up to you, I guess. I don't care for any of these lands."

    OFFER ME THAT DEATHLESS DEATH

the white wolf tossed a glance in her brother’s direction. a snort left her maw as she rolled her eyes. typical. he never had the urge she had. while most of their lives had been spent moving from place to place, she had always wanted to settle down and have a home. while issues from their past haunted them, and was reason to them not having a home, kodaline wanted this. she wanted it more than anything else really. so when her brother offered to make this place their home she was happy to do so. "it’s nice here. i don’t see why not." and they knew nothing of them. nothing of the things they had been through. thank god. while her brother may be unaware of the demons haunting her, koda hoped that someone would be able to explain why she was being “haunted” by her father. maybe the folks here wouldn’t call her kodaline macaulay. maybe someone would finally call her parmalee rasmus. she had no desire to be associated with her father. taking a seat alongside her brother at what appeared to be a border, waiting for someone to find them. the beachy scent filled her nostrils as she closed her eyes and let out a long sigh.

—— i'm going down | officer of the rift

The snow leopard lumbered over. She was beginning to adjust to the much larger, more powerful body she had acquired. It was strange, and not so suited for the island where the Rift resided, but she would simply start swimming more, perhaps. Her eyes flicked over the joiners, her vibrant, piercing blue eyes guarded. "Hello. I'm Archaicpaw. Can I help you?" she asked, tipping her head.

    "Speech."

hazel eyes turned towards the source of the sound. so this was a member of the clan yes? well alright then. "uh yeah actually. we’re looking to seek shelter within your territory for the night. who knows, maybe we’ll end up staying. permanently. should you be willing to have us that is." her response may have been slightly bitchy, and she realized that. she just didn’t care. it was part of her nature, she couldn’t help it. and being around strangers already put her on end. hopefully her brother would make some excuse for her (he always did. or was that just her imagination?) and smooth things over. or maybe this “archaicpaw” would dismiss it as her being tired and all that.

Archaicpaw eyed the joiners, her piercing gaze lingering for a moment on each in turn. "Right. You both are welcome to stay as long as you like, assuming you don't have any ill intentions towards the clan. Welcome to the Rift. I'm an Officer here, so you'll see quite a bit of me around. Do you guys have any questions?" she responded, tone barely changing.

    "Speech."

The star patterned girl was the next to make her way over to see the two new joiners. Whatever. She didn't care and her beating heart told her not to get to close. Never get close to anyone again and you can't be hurt. Cosmicshadow wanted to laught bitterly at her own thoughts but kept silent. Her eyes looked them over before deciding Archaicpaw had this handled. She made her way to continue on in the direction she had been going before she heard new voices, her metal paw clicking agianst the hard earth. ""
