So, Riley was...Bonded to the girl upon Corr's back? A powerful magic linked her to Ravenna? She...Accepted that explanation. It cleared up how she knew the human female's name without ever having met her. And why she desperately pulled the girl off of the piebald's back when it appeared she would drown. It quickly dawned upon the white mare how she had injured her very companion with this rescue. "I'm deeply sorry. I feared she would drown if I didn't act." and Riley had not wanted to lose one she had been drawn to.

Should the water horse have fought the bond? It was to be expected. But Riley went against this. She saw very few reason to. She would stay upon the island for the girl and the girl only. Which meant if Ravenna ever chose to leave, Riley would try her hardest to accompany her. It merely seemed pointless to fight magic. And on another note, she felt obligated to protect such a fragile creature. "I must admit, though...She shows great bravery."

Yes. A great amount of bravery for one who could've been torn to shreds. Riley found that an interesting quality in her apparent 'rider.' She herself was more than willing to fight creatures bigger than her, in the right setting.

  • Rhydian Kendrick-24-Male

I can here them, the wild ones in the sea as it thrashes about. They will reach the beach soon and they will kill those who don't know to stay inside and keep a gun at your side during these November nights. I want to go back to town now, I have risked far to much for the doll in my arms. I won't have her being torn apart because Corr wishes to have a chat with the mare.

    'Teach them.'

The voice inside my head is not my own, it is deeper and takes up every space within my mind. Corr's words keep me from giving the reins a stern jerk. Yet I am not coming up with any better ideas. "I can't teach them both, we still have the race to train for, herds to look after, and Malvern to answer to. I'll do what I can with the mainlander, but the mare is your's." I tell Corr vocal, talking telepathically right now would hurt my head. The bobbing head, nicker, and the stomp of his hooves gave me my answer. Great, just what I need for November, more trouble. I feel like I'm going to regret this later on. "Mainlander, why are you here?" This question has been bothering me for some time now.

I have no clue who this girl is nor the reason she was on the beach in the first place. Although, as I glance at Riley I can guess the reason now. She is Ann odd woman that is for sure. The mare's voice is soft and loud in my head, foreign and slightly unwanted yet I have taken my walls down so that Corr could let me hear her words so I can't whine about it. I do not bother adding the fact that this bravery Riley admire was more like stupidity. Still, I can't be to harsh I still had my arm thanks to her.

I straighten up when Corr finally begins to move. I relax my grip on the mainlander's waist assuming Corr wouldn't allow her to fall off. My eyes return to the sea as that call grows louder. I can't say what draws them here tonight or any other night. There is still much I have to learn about Water Horses.

    Corr-25-Male

Corr chuffed in amusement with her words, he could feel that Rhydian felt different about the female bravery then Riley did, but accepted it all the same. He decided that it might be best to explain some things while Rhydian remained in a somewhat agreeable mood. 'I am the lead stallion of the herds here." Both the Land Ponies and the Capiall Uisce were under his care, not only them but he had a duty to the innocent humans on this island as well. He didn't bother adding what his other set of duties were here. Corr's long legs carried him and his humans closer to the cliffs as he turned around.

'If you do not have a set conviction on being with your rider you must go back to the sea. You'll kill her otherwise.' He warns before walking pass Riley. His head hurts as the waves sway back and forth pleading with him to take the plunge. He twitches one ear as he feels Rhydian's heels digging sharply into his flank and the slight tug of the reins to direct him. Even after all this time even he was lulled into following the song every once in a while.

He glances over his shoulder expecting to see Riley following after them, he did have her rider after all. 'If you want to stay here and I mean truly want stay here. You'll have some rules you'll need to follow and I'll teach you what I can about this bond and your rider, in return you won't need to worry about being roped and caught by the other humans. The only one who can be on your back are her and those she allows.' Corr never allowed anyone on his back besides Rhydian, this girl was new and had been hauled on his back rather then allowed. She was another rider so he supposed she was an exception.

He freezes when he hears the distorted sound, to an untrained air it sounded like a whale song, or a widow wailing, or something chuckling, a sound used to lure curious humans and tourists down to the beach. To him, it was a challenge, one he so desperately wanted to meet. In this form it was harder to control his instincts then it was on two legs. "No! Corr." He can feel the words press down on his skull and embed themselves in his brain. Rhydian's get's his point across as Corr picks up his legs and starts trotting again.

Corr brought himself to a full stop as his eyes drifted up towards the cliffs that would bring them up into town. His eyes settled on the white mare waiting for her answer. Corr was more intrigued with bonded pair, more so with Riley's rider then anything else. Females do not ride their kind here, in all his life he's never heard of a female rider. He wanted to see how this played seeing as Rhydian had agreed to help teach them.

  • Ravenna

I felt a little like a fish out of water when the heads started turning and the eyes starting burning into my soul. It was the stormy gray ones that had me squirming the most, though. Corr was a giant amongst the stallions I've ridden back home. I've heard a lot of stories about this mountain of a horse back in the mainlands. Honestly, I don't think any of them do him any justice. He did not have tentacles hanging off his face, his body was no covered in slime and seaweed, and he didn't look like much of a killer from where I was at on his back. Perhaps I'm a little braver with this thought because Rhydian is directly behind me, but his eyes are possible one of the most intelligent I have ever seen in a horse. He isn't your average everyday stallion though. I find it hard to compare him to the Piebald, him and Thana were different.

I don't realize until he turns his head that I was leaning away from him. Okay, so maybe he was a little scary, yet the Piebald still wins as the one I fear the most. I feel a little like a hypocrite for being scared of him and not of Riley. I should be a little more cautious when it comes to a wild horse and possibly a little more fearful like I am with Corr. I am not though for some unknown reason I trust her. I don't trust a lot of people these days. Not my father, not my brothers, not the people I once called friends. I do trust Riley and I can't even find a proper reason why I do, it is just a feeling.

I squirm a little in Rhydian's grasp when I hear him talking aloud. I am overly confused as to why he's talking at all and to who I haven't asked or said anything to him. I slide my hands up along Corr's neck as the stallion stomps his hoof and makes a sound as if answer Rhydian? I really want to ask what was going on but Corr is in motion. I think he's going slower but it doesn't stop my heart from racing in my chest. I press my hands against his withers lightly petting him more to keep me grounded over anything else. I gaze in her direction, she seems as lost as I do. It was nice to know that I wasn't not the only one who had no clue what was going on.

"My name is not Mainlander, it's Ravenna." I snap at Rhydian with a roll of my pale eyes. I have no clue what the islanders have against people who come from the mainland. They don't seem to really like strangers, however, they let the tourists come all the time? I suppose everyone needs to make a living some how and these rare horses they that they get as well the race makes a great attraction. I only got here a few days ago, so I had a lot to learn about this island but I feel like it could become a place I could call home. There was a lot about my mother that I didn't know so hopefully this place would teach me about it. Who knows maybe I'll make a friend along the way?

"My mother, Siren Octavia, she was born and raised on this island." I tell him. Siren Octavia, my mother lived here and loved the capaill uisce. She told me countless stories about them and her wishes to be in the Scorpio Race just once. She didn't get to live out her dream, she got sick and had to be moved to the mainland where she met my father and settled down after having me. She died in a hospital bed not to long ago. It still hurt to remember but the pain will go away one day. "I want to ride in the Scorpio Races. It was her dream and I promised to fulfill it." I don't need to win it I just to be in it. Winning would be nice but not needed. I can't help but glance over at Riely, I was sure if I was on her I'd at least be allowed to ride on it.
