  • 「 they’d love to watch me fall — they think they know it all 」

As proud as he wanted to be for solving a case, pride would not help him now. As he was smacked off of the cliff side and into the roaring waters, he cried out for his friend, "Kudooo!" And then... crash. He was gone. What remained of him, his hat with “SAX” written on it.

//so, it’s a continuation of this thread and for conviency sake, this doesn’t necessarily need to take place at Wind Haven’s territory, it’s just where Hattori got knocked off of a cliff. He’ll be back soon!

  • One truth prevails ! —

Shinichi bolted upright from where he lay in bed, covered in cold sweat. Glancing around wildly, he glanced through his windows and around the relatively empty villa with wide, inquiring eyes, before pausing by the doorway. He could've sworn Heiji had called his name. Where was he, anyways? He had a bad feeling about it, and hoped it was just a lingering remnant from the nightmare he'd had of the strawberry leopard falling off a cliff, pushed by a dark figure. Narrowing his blue eyes and sliding on his glasses, he decided to take a walk.

His walk was relatively uneventful up until he began seeing a familiar area... the beginnings of a landscape steeped by cliffs and rapids. A frown prevalent on the serval's face, he walked until he reached the spot he'd seen in his nightmare. Glancing around with trained eyes, the cold feeling in his stomach increased, coming to a freezing halt when his eyes latched onto something he hardly saw alone; Heiji's hat. His friend always wore the hat consistently and had occasionally given it to him as a change of disguise. Walking over, Shinichi snatched it from a tree branch it had lodged itself onto, staring at it with an unmasked air of concern. How had this hat gotten separated from its owner? Had the detective strayed too far into a case, as he had so done? Shinichi hated to think what could've happened to Heiji, especially since his own case gone wrong had resulted in his body being shrunk...

Shinichi stared at the hat with a dark look in his eyes, a fire blazing in the blue oculars. Slowly, he placed the hat on his head, pointing it forward as his friend so would when a case got difficult. Then, in a quiet murmur, he said, "Hattori... what've you gotten yourself into this time, especially after you knew what happened to me?" raising his head and glancing at the sky, he breathed, "I'm going to find you, even if I end up sharing your bad fate." then, with a flick of his tail, he began to follow the river downstream. The hunt for Heiji Hattori began.
