  • "Yeah, the errand was for me.." She said, her voice trailing off in the end. "His phone doesn't pick up either, I've called him at least four times." She said. "Mmhm, tell me if you find him." Those were her last words before she closed the phone, the familiar ringing that signals that the other person has closed came.

On the other side of town, James groaned in pain as he was slowly regaining consciousness. His head was ringing. He soon opened his eyes and raised his head, looking around him. He squirmed in the ropes, realizing they were holding him to the chair tightly. James was about to ask where he is before remembering what happened and pinning where he is as the Grizzlies base. He had seen it from the outside, but he never was inside it. "What do you want?" He snapped at the people around him, even though his head still hurt, he had got himself together and was sitting upright in seconds from when he had woken up.

  • Riley heard the ending rings as she hung up and sighed. They had a feeling that they needed to get into Grizzy territory. That was not exactly an easy feat, but Riley did like a challenge and they had a good reason. The Grizzles took their lover, that crossed a line. They're so gonna get it they thought making their way over.

The other Grizzles fell silent at James's question. Then the leader of the group moved in front of James glared down at him. "We want Riley and to get him, we took you. It's pretty clear to most of the city, that you two are rather close. Almost like you were dating...I'm sure Riley would do anything to get back his lover, wouldn't you say?"

  • It wasn't a surprise to James that most of the town - if not all of it - knew that he and Riley were dating, or somewhat close, he just never thought being sort-of public about their relationship made him that much of a target. He wasn't surprised that the Grizzlies kidnapped, he just never thought it would be him someday.

James glared back at the leader of the group around him as they spoke. "And I'm pretty sure that of he comes, he's not coming alone." James said. Even though he wasn't sure of that, it didn't show in the way he said it as he smirked at the leader. "Plus, if he comes, I'm pretty sure you're the ones that are finished, not him." He said, trying to get on their nerves, even though it wasn't a good thing to do in his position.

  • The leader glared at his smirk and moved over to him so that they were only inches apart. "That may be so, but before he does he might listen to our demands. After all, I'm sure he wants your pretty face not to be messed up" he informed pulling away. He circled the chair looking over James for a moment. "I'm still trying to figure out one thing, why would Riley go for someone like you? An ex townie turned gang member. What makes you so special?"

  • James glared back at them and didn't break eye contact even though he wanted to. He had to bite his bottom lip to stop himself from replying with a snarky remark to annoy him even more; he didn't want to push them into doing a reckless thing. He squirmed once more in the ropes, trying once again to somehow loosen them, but they were tight.

At the question he paused, he wondered if it was a genuine question or just to get on his nerves, but he knew it was most likely the latter. He'd been thinking about the question a lot and it was one of the insecurities about his and Riley's relationship. He just stayed silent and rather looked at the ground for mere moments. "And why do you care? Did you have a crush on him or something?" He replied, annoyed with himself that he doesn't know the answer and annoyed with the guy for asking the question in the first place.

  • The leader looked offended that James would suggest he would have a crush on Riley, but there was a hint of blush on him that only James could see. "Maybe I had one, maybe I don't. Why would you care?" he asked

As he was about to attack him when Riley came bursting in. They were by themselves, but had enough anger in them to handle more than they could normally. They spotted James and gave him a wink to get him to distract the leader while they took out his men to get to James

  • James perked up slightly at the sight of Riley, but he just squirmed once more to hide the movement as if he was trying to loosen the ropes. His eyes trailed from Riley to the leader rather quickly, noticing the slight flush on their face. "You did, didn't you? You had a crush on the toughest fighter of the other gang, but you knew you couldn't be together." He said, smiling as he paused to look at their reaction. "Your dreams were crushed completely, though, when I came into the picture.." He continued, smirking slightly. He had to stop himself from taking glanced at his lover to make sure that they were okay.

  • Riley half paid attention to what was going on while they quietly took out the other Grizzles surrounding James and the leader of the small ground. Meanwhile the leader looked like he was ready to use his switchblade on the bound man. "Fine," he spat out, "I did have a crush on him and heck maybe I still do. We were practically made for each other and then you caught his eye instead." He grabbed his switchblade and pointed it to his face. "So again I ask, what makes him want you more than me?"

  • James stopped talking when he saw the sight of the switchblade. He glared at the guy as it was pointed to his face and he tried to backaway from the tip of it as much as he could while bound to a chair. "Uh..how about we leave the switchblade, then we can talk. Maybe even put in a punch, but just leave the weapon out of this.." He said awkwardly, his eyes focusing on the switchblade for mere moments before looking back at him, but the guy didn't seem to falter and instead brought it closer. "I don't know, maybe you can ask for yourself and find out!" He snapped, glaring at him. Seeing behind him Riley coming closer as he took them out.

  • The leader slashed at his cheek instead. "You can't tell me what to do, you don't really have authority here now do ya?" he smirked. However, after the slash on the cheek, he put the switchblade away. Meanwhile, Riley came over to the leader then and knocked him out not going to give him another chance to hurt James again. They then ran over to James and untied his bonds.

Once he was free from the chair, Riley pulled him into a hug. "What did he do to you?" they asked. Other than the cut on James's cheek, they couldn't tell if there were any other wounds. They seemed to change from being semi violent to a bit of a fussy mess.

  • James yelped softly and gritted his teeth as he slashed his cheek. At least it's not his eyes or somewhere as reckless as his chest. He glared at him as he spoke. He didn't reply even though he really wanted to get on his nerves, but he held his tongue and watched as they put the switchblade away. The cut wasn't necessarily deep, but it was drawing blood still. "I agree with you; I don't have authority, but you don't either." He said with a smile on his face as Riley knocked him out.

James sighed in relief as he was out of the tight ropes, and he hugged Riley back rather tightly. "Other than annoy me and the cut on my cheek, nothing." He smiled at Riley and gave him a quick kiss before lacing their fingers with each other. "We better get out of here before any of them wake up." He said worriedly, glancing around.

  • Riley glanced at the cut figuring it wasn't deep, but would definitely scar. They nodded to the fact that the pair should get out of the hideout before the rest come to. "You're right about that. Come on, let's get going. I'm going to need to clean up that cut" they reminded. As the pair left, the leader watched them and glared at them and vowing to break them up somehow

They made their way back to the station where Riley led James back to their room cleaning up his cut. "So you might get a scar from this, but nothing much. I heard you talking with their leader, but I couldn't make it out. What did you two say?"

  • James sat silently for a few minutes as Riley cleaned the cut in his cheek for him. He was pondering about his conversation with the leader and taking occasional glances at Riley, wondering whether to ask him or no. James nodded at the scar remark knowing already that it will. He paused slightly as he asked about their conversation.

"Well, long story short, he's jealous that I'm with you because he has a crush on you.." He said briefly with a smile, the question that he kept repeating rushing through his head 'What makes you so special?' "I've got to ask you though, you had the chance to be with anyone. I bet a lot of people had a crush on you, why did you choose a townie like me that you saved from getting beat up?" He asked, looking at them curiously

  • Riley continued cleaning wiping away the blood and covering it so it wouldn't get infected. They were surprised by the sudden question. "Why did I pick you, out of everyone in this town? Well...there's a lot. First you were the first person that I really felt a connection that was outside my family. And you happened to learn more about me and seeing past my tough persona" they tried to explain

They wrapped their arms around James for a moment. "And you were the only person in this city that stole my heart" they admitted kissing James's neck

  • James listened silently, looking at the ground. He couldn't help the smile from appearing on his face as he heard their reasons, his face reddening slightly. He buried his face in Riley's neck as he wrapped his arms around them. He placed their foreheads together before speaking softly, "I love you, Riley. I'm glad I got to know you rather than depend on the rumors." A chuckle escaped him at the end.

"Are you okay? Did you get hurt in any way?" He asked worriedly afterwards, his eyes looking at them, looking for any wounds.

  • Riley pulled James close as he wrapped his arms around them and smiled hearing what he had to say. They pulled him into a quick kiss knowing how close they were at the moment. "And I love you Jay, no one is going to steal you away from me" they promised. They pulled away and gently played with James's hair as he asked his questioned.

They let out a soft chuckled. "None that are bothering me. I got rid of those guys before they could send one punch. Well...except for one guy" they admitted. They gesturing to their collarbone where a bruise was starting to show

  • James smiled at the first half of the remark before it disappeared as he took a closer look at the bruise. "Let's get rid of it before it actually forms." He said softly, getting up and putting a few ice cubes in a small zip plastic bag, putting it on the bruise. "That'll calm it down a bit." He said softly.

James gently punched them in the shoulder. "You shouldn't have come alone, even if you did kick them, something worse could've happened to you." He said, making sure the bag of ice is still on the bruise.

  • Riley held the bag close to their chest trying to stop the bruise. They faked being in pain from the punch as a way to joke with James. "Next time something bad happens, I won't go by myself, unless it just works out that way. Sometimes I need to just be me for stealth" they explained.

They could tell James was worried about them and smiled a little. "I'm glad to know you're worried about me baby, haven't had someone outside my own family worry...Jay, do you still have questions for me?"

  • "If I'm not worried about you, then what kind of lover am I?" He said and chuckled softly. He planted a quick kiss onto their lips, making sure not to bump the ice bag. "And no, I'm fine." He said with a smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

"I haven't seen you fight in a while. You looked amazing when doing it and I've always wondered how you take on so many people at once, but I guess that's why you're the fiercest fighter in the Grease Monkeys." Jamws said with a grin, leaning his head on Riley's shoulder.

  • Riley chuckled at the first thing James said. "You'd be a pretty crappy one" they pointed out. They returned the kiss having it last a bit of time. They were surprised he didn't have questions. "You sure? You did say you wanted to understand who I am earlier" they reminded.

They chuckled about the fighting this and snuggled up to James. "It's takes a lot of training to get to the level of skill I'm at today. I could go back to training you again if that's what you want Jay"
