  • hello!! i haven't rp'd on here in a long time but i'm going to put out this one thread and see what happens ;; just jump in with a little character bio and you'll be all set~ i hope this is good enough ;;

    plot; kihyun is the quiet photographer and painter that you see around the art building and on campus. you even share the same writing class. you always see him alone and you swear you've never heard him talk. your friends drag you to a small concert at a bar one day to see the boy everyone's talking about. K is famous across campus, everyone knows he's a student but nobody has ever seen him on campus. At first, he just seems very familiar, and then you realize. you see kihyun the next day and finally get the courage to go up and ask him.

    ic; Kihyun was more tired than usual, after the performance from last night. He was held up at the bar longer than usual because the audience kept begging him for encores. He didn't end up leaving until 2am, when the bar closed, which wasn't at all the time he planned on leaving. He remembered as he was entering the back of the bar before his performance, he heard one of the staff say that there was more people than the last time, and it was only his second time performing He never thought he'd be this popular. He was only a cover artist anyway. After his last performance, he felt like everyone on campus was talking about him. He hated the attention but he loved to perform. He loved singing. Besides art and photography, it was his biggest passion. He was glad that nobody recognized him from his last performance though. On campus, he always wore his hair back in a beanie, with his thin framed glasses and when he was on stage, he slicked his dark hair back and wore a white shirt, a leather jacket and black ripped skinny jeans. It was completely different from how he usually dressed and it was enough for people to not recognize him on campus. And he was thankful for it.

    Hands shoved firmly in his sweatpants pockets, Kihyun walked out of the dining hall and headed directly in the direction of his dorm. He only went out so that he could get food but he was going to go right back to his dorm so he could sleep. He was lucky his dorm was close to the dining hall. This time, he forgot to grab his beanie on the way out so he was just stuck with his messy hair down and in his eyes.

  • ooc; it's okay ;; my post was kind of weird to jump into

    ic; Kihyun stopped immediately as he heard his name, turning towards the source in surprise. He thought for a moment that it was someone from the concert, some fangirl or something who figured out who he was, and he felt his heart drop to his feet but the girl running to catch up to him didn't give off that vibe at all. She had a familiar face, possibly a girl he shared a class with?

    "Hm?" he turned to face her as she stopped in front of him. "Hey.. uh... I'm fine I guess. Tired." he ran a hand through his hair at the awkward question, wondering why she was talking to him all of a sudden. Upon seeing her face closer, he realized that this girl was definitely in a class of his. But they had never spoken before. They had never even been paired up or even in the same group for assignments in the class they shared. "Well... Is there something you need? This is very sudden." he asked very bluntly. He hoped this didn't come off as rude but he didn't want to continue this awkward conversation any longer. "I mean since we've never talked before."

  • He watched as she fidgeted in front of him, trying to keep eye contact with her as she spoke. He thought that because of her actions that maybe she was nervous? But why did she suddenly just come up to him? He thought for a moment that maybe she had gone to the concert and knew who he was but she would have asked about it by this point. He was genuinely curious.

    "Well, hello." he chuckled a little bit at her words. He wasn't sure what to say after that, and it grew quiet between the two of them. He thought he should at least introduce himself since they were both standing there but she said goodbye and ran off before he could open his mouth to say anything. "You too!" he managed to get out as she turned to run off. For a minute, Kihyun just stood there, wondering what just happened, and if he should continue to wonder about it. As he turned to walk back in the direction of his dorm, he chuckled to himself. She was cute, I guess. he thought with a shrug.

    --

    Later that night, after his roommate was already asleep and there was nobody around on campus, Kihyun left his dorm and went to the place he usually went to practice his singing. Near one of the dining halls, there was a small pond with a bench by the edge of the water that Kihyun thought would be perfect one afternoon when he was passing the dining hall. He always went here late at night when he wanted to practice his singing, because nobody was going to the dining halls that late and there wasn't a soul around. He would stare out at the water, and just sing along to whichever song he wanted to sing to, and just be calm. With all his busy classes, this was the perfect getaway, and singing was a big stress reliever for him.

    Closing his eyes, he sang to a song that he sang at his performance: So-So by Baek A Yeon. This was one of Kihyun's favorite songs and he felt like he always sang this song when he was out here. It was relaxing. The night was calmer than usual and he felt like his voice was echoing off of the water. This was Kihyun at his happiest.

  • ooc; yesyes i can do that ^^

    ic; The next day, Kihyun found himself back on the bench in front of the pond again. It was a Sunday, and sure, he had quite a bit of homework that needed to be done, but for once he just wanted to sit at this pond in the daylight. He felt as though he had never really been here in the daylight. He couldn't practice his singing or anything, because there were people around and he couldn't risk being recognized, especially now that he was growing in popularity on campus. Instead, he just hummed to himself with his headphones in, making sure to not be too loud. For a Sunday, the weather made it feel like it should be Saturday. It was absolutely beautiful outside.

    Looking off into the pond, his mind wandered to the girl from the day prior. He felt a little bit bad, because he didn't even know her name. He wished they had be able to properly introduce themselves to each other instead of the awkward exchange they shared. It'd be nice to have a friend on campus, since he really didn't have any close friends. As he thought about this, his mind immediately went back to the thought risking the campus finding out who he was. He didn't want to be treated like a celebrity. He didn't want to blow up on campus, or even outside of campus. He just wanted to have his little moments of fame on the stage and leave it at that. He sighed as his eyes scanned the details of the water, hating that his mind always went back to this constant anxiety of being caught. He hoped that performing like this wouldn't always leave him so anxious, because eventually it wouldn't be enjoyable anymore.

    Looking down at his phone, Kihyun scrolled through his songs, not content with anything that was coming up on shuffle.

  • ooc; yesssss omg same i love it ;;

    ic; After skipping through songs for a while, Kihyun finally found one that made him happy. As the beautiful piano started at the beginning of Breathe by Lee Hi, Kihyun placed his phone beside him and stared out into the water as he was doing before. Once Lee Hi's voice filled his ears, he began humming softly, slowing becomming more immersed in the song and eventually just closing his eyes.

    When he felt a tap on his shoulder, Kihyun jumped, eyes blinking open as he pulled out his earbuds. He shifted, turning his body towards the source of the tap. It was the girl again, the one with the ponytail and the familiar face that he shared a class with that had approached him the day prior. His startled expression softened when he realized who it was that was standing next to him but her sudden excitement made him just as confused as when she approached him yesterday. He looked more like the Kihyun she knew him as, his dark hair hidden in a grey beanie as he usually wore it.

    "No no, I don't mind at all," he moved over on the bench to make more room for her to sit, grabbing his phone and holding it in his lap. "So what's up? You were looking for me?"

  • Kihyun listened intently as she spoke, keeping eye contact with her. But as soon as she mentioned his performance, he knew exactly what this was about and his heart dropped. He felt anxiety wash over him as she asked him if he was K, unsure of how he should answer her question. Just out of his blunt nature, he wanted to be honest and just tell her but they weren't close. He didn't know anything about her. He didn't know if she would keep quiet about this or if she would spread it across campus and ruin everything. He was about to tell her the simple answer of just "no, I'm not K." but he couldn't lie. He couldn't bring himself to do it. Something inside of him just wouldn't let him lie to her. He wasn't sure what it was. Maybe it the possibility of them actually being friends, like he had thought about before.

    Kihyun sighed as he kept their eye contact, his mind racing with a million thoughts as he tried to think of a good answer. The silence between them felt like it lasted forever, just like it had the day before.

    Finally, he spoke, opening his mouth slowly and speaking his words carefully and quietly. He hoped he was making a good decision. "Listen, I know we basically just met yesterday but you can't tell anyone on campus this, okay? I'm dead serious." he sighed again, speaking even quieter and breaking their eye contact. He looked around to make sure there weren't any ears that could possibly hear him. "Yes. I'm K."

  • "Thank you," Kihyun sighed in relief but when she spoke of a 'one condition' he quickly locked his eyes back on hers. He furrowed his eyebrows, scanning her face as he tried to read her expression. She was smiling mischeviously at him and that worried him. He couldn't go one second with this girl without feeling some kind of anxiety. What was this girl playing at? How could she be so nice yet so.. sneaky at the same time? Her eyes, even though they were really quite beautiful, its like they were piercing into him, pulling all of the truth out of him even if he wanted to lie.

    Sing for her? He broke their eye contact to face away from her once again. This girl was really full of surprises.

    "Not here." he spoke softly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'll do it, but it can't be here. There's too many people around." He turned his body to face her on the bench, looking into her eyes with more seriousness than before. "If you come back here tonight I can do it. There'll be nobody around.. I won't get recognized, you know?"

  • "Yeah," he bit his bottom lip. "I really didn't think I'd be this popular.. I only went and performed that gig the first time because I just. Wanted to sing. I figured it was time to get off this park bench at midnight or out of the shower in my dorm and actually try it." he laughed softly at himself. "And to think I was considering posting on youtube. If I blew up like this on campus, imagine on the internet..." Kihyun shook his head. "I'm busy enough with my major, I really don't have time for that kind of attention. You're right, though. It's tiring."

    Kihyun sighed but smiled up at her. Her genuine smile untouched by any kind if mischevious thoughts was beautiful, and he couldn't help but admit that to himself. They had just met yet they were talking so comfortably with each other, like they had been friends for a long time. This was nice.

    "Thank you for understanding though. I'm glad you're not some crazy fan. If I even have those yet." he laughed at himself again. "What's your name, by the way? I don't think I've asked."

  • ooc; AAA OMG IT'S OKAY REALLY ;; i completely understand your situation and you take as much time as you need! i promise im not gonna just leave on you )': and your reply is amazing as always so don't worry about fancyposts or anything~~ ily2 i hope ur device gets fixed soon or you get another one ♥♥♥

    ic; "Bonnie." he repeated, nodding as the name left his lips. "It's not stupid at all. It's actually really cute. I like that it sounds like bunny." He smiled at her but immediately looked forward, hoping not to make eye contact after he said that, as he was probably blushing. "Sorry for asking for your name even though we share a class. I'm really bad at remembering names and it doesn't help that my memory just sucks in general." he chuckled at his own words, thinking about her question from before and formulating an answer in his head.

    "Your question from before," he started, keeping his eyes forward. "Yes, I have thought about it before. Before I came here, I was thinking of majoring in some kind of vocal related major but I wanted to follow art and photography instead. I have such a love for both that it was hard to choose, really." he sighed. "I'm happy where I am now though. I think doing singing on the side is much better for me anyway..." he shrugged. "I guess I could do both in the future but... I don't know."

    "Anyway, what about you? Tell me about your major."

  • ooc; yeah it's no problem! ♥ don't worry about it tho ;; i don't want you to get in trouble or anything, okay? i don't mind a late reply if it means youre not gonna get in trouble with your family

    Kihyun looked over at her, listening intently as she mentioned her major. "Dance?" he raised his eyebrows as the topic piqued his intersest. She stopped so short, he wanted to hear her talk more. He wanted to hear more of her voice. The way her face lit up when the topic was brought up, he wanted to see her get immersed in the conversation of something she loves and cares about. The twinkle in her eyes was enough to make his heart skip a beat, but he ignored the feeling in his chest. "That's so awesome. That must be an intense major, right? It's like art but... you know... it's dance. I always enjoy watching it. It's beautiful." He let his eyes glance over her for a short moment as the last few words left his mouth. When he thought about it, she did look like a dancer. She had that kind of air to her.

    "Tell me more about your major. I'm really interested." he said bluntly, nodding. His lips hinted at a smile.

  • ooc; ohhhhhhh my spring break just ended D': youre so lucky i wish my break was longer ;;

    ic; Kihyun didn't want to admit it to himself at first but as Bonnie's face lit up and she began talking about dance so passionately, he became lost in her voice. How could be so mesmerized by her? He couldn't wrap his head around what he was feeling over this girl he just met the previous day. He was never the type to be like this after only a day. However, she was different. As she continued to speak, he could tell that she loved her major so much and it made him smile. And when she smiled genuinely and to the fullest extent of her heart, his own completely stopped and he blinked for a moment as he looked at her. Her smile was practically shining. He snapped himself out of his momentary daze, nodding along with her words and taking in everything she was saying as he listened intently.

    "That's how I feel when I'm on the stage, or singing anywhere, really. Singing is my getaway from everything," he stated. "Even though I love art and photography, sometimes I have to get away from that too." he bit on his bottom lip, a hint of nervousness showing. "I'd like to see you dance sometime. You're going to see me sing, so how about I see you dance? That's fair, right?" he chuckled sheepishly. "You could even teach me something."

  • "Right." Kihyun's smirk grew bigger, becoming a small laugh. "I can try. It'll be something new for the both of us but I also think it'll be really fun." he wasn't sure how good of a teacher he'd be. Singing and dancing are two very different things to teach but he was up for the challenge. He knew that he'd probably embarass himself with his poor dancing skills but it was okay, right? He wanted to get to know Bonnie better anyway and this was a perfect opportunity. But by the slight stutter in her voice, he could tell that she was nervous and hell, he was too.

    "So should we do this teaching tonight when I sing for you or should we do that a different time?" he leaned back on the bench, throwing an arm over the back while keeping his body facing her.

  • "You're right." Kihyun tilted his head slightly, his gaze was soft as he looked at her. "It's fine with me. I'll probably be busy this week with projects and practicing for my next show-" he paused mid-sentence, his eyes widening for a moment with his small realization. "Wait, are you going to my next show?"

    He wondered if she was going to any more of his shows. He thought for a moment that maybe seeing her face in the crowd of people would be kind of... comforting? It'd be nice to see someone he knew going to a show of his. And he knew that she had been before and she enjoyed his singing so he hoped it would happen. He fidgeted with his fingers infront of him, rubbing his hands together slowly. He suddenly felt a little more nervous than he did before. It was different when he didn't know anybody in the crowd but if Bonnie was going to be there, he was going to be a little more nervous of messing up. He hoped it'd be comforting but the more he thought about it, the more he wasn't sure.

    "It's okay if you can't though, but it'd make me really happy to see you there." he stated bluntly, smiling in a kind of shy way.

  • ooc; aaaaaa that's so cute ;; theres no need to apologize it's totally fine!

    ic; "I'm performing on Friday again." he stated. "Same place, same time. Just different songs." hearing Bonnie's 'of course' made him grin practically from ear to ear. He changed his position so that he was sitting with his back to the bench, facing completely forward. He missed having friends like this, it had been a long time since he was actually close with someone, and he was hoping that Bonnie could be that person. It was so weird to think about that not even an hour ago, they had just started talking. He kept thinking about that, and occasionally the thought of 'am I really trusting her with this?' would cross his mind. After talking with her, he had more trust in her than he did the day prior. She seemed like a sweet girl, and not the type to disrespect a person's wish.

    "I'm so happy," he sighed as he stared ahead. "That you're going." he chuckled. "So what's it feel like," he turned his head to face her, still grinning. "To be friends with the campus celebrity?"

  • "Soon," he repeated, sighing with a hint of uneasiness to it. "Yeah." It was definitely going to happen soon. Someone else was bound to find out who exactly he was. With each performance, he was only getting closer to it and he needed to just start accepting that fact, rather than trying to avoid it because truthfully, he couldn't avoid it forever.

    Kihyun ran a hand through his hair and began to speak again. "I hope you don't mind that I called you a friend, I mean that's okay, right? I know it's probably a little weird because we just met but..." he paused as his sentence started to taper off, realizing he was rambling. He looked over the details of her face, from her eyes to the corner of her lips where they turned up in a tiny smirk and his heart skipped a beat again. He was feeling that.. feeling again. Where he couldn't help but think that the girl sitting in front of him was beautiful. It was all hitting him at once, and he hated it because it made him feel like every other boy on this campus. He hated feeling cliche. After just sitting in silence for what felt like ages, even though it was probably only about 30 seconds, he smiled shyly and looked into his lap.

    "Well, I should probably get going I suppose, I-I have homework and stuff I need to finish, because it is Sunday after all." he started to stand up from the bench. "I don't want to keep you from any work you need to finish or anything."

  • ooc; I AM SO SORRY FOR NOT RESPONDING D: i didn't have any free time this weekend im so sorry pls forgive me ;;

    ic; As Kihyun stood, he thought he heard her apologize and he immediately spoke up again, waving his hands infront of him. "Oh no no, don't apologize, it's okay." He noticed that the shining smile she had before was now gone and he wanted to sigh again. "If anyone is apologizing, it should be me for leaving so early in the middle of such a nice conversation." He didn't really want to leave. He wanted to sit next to her on his favorite bench and just talk with her for hours. He wanted them to actually become friends, learn more about each other... typical friend things. They were friends by just saying so but he wanted to actually feel like there was a real friendship. He didn't know how to explain it, even to himself.

    Maybe... this bench would become her favorite too? Maybe it could be their favorite bench instead of just his. He blushed as the string of thoughts like this filled his head.

    "I'll see you tonight, okay? Midnight sound good? That's usually when I come here anyway."

  • ooc; i missed you too ♥ also thats fine with me~

    ic; Kihyun nodded with a quiet "bye" in response. As he was walking away, he turned around and waved to her. It was so sad to see her on the bench all by herself. He should have stayed with her longer, he really wanted to anyway. How much time had they spent just sitting there? He hadn't checked his phone the entire time so time felt like it flew by in a matter of seconds. He sighed as he made his way back to his dorm, glancing at the scenery around him but mostly just staring at his feet. The farther he got from the bench, the sadder he felt. Sunset was soon, he had alot of work to finish in his non-art related class so he needed to get his head in the right place. He frowned. He couldn't even begin to think about his homework right now, his mind kept wandering to Bonnie every time he tried to think about his responsibilites.

    He wondered what she thought of him after actually meeting him. Was he too awkward? Did he talk to much? Was he too negative? A million questions were running through his mind.

    Kihyun was still thinking about their encounter even when he was in his room and trying to do his homework. He should have at least gotten her number before he left her awkwardly. He was going to regret that action for a long time.

    --

    Hours later after Kihyun had finished his work, the dark haired boy was lying on his back on his bed, phone beside him with Spotify open. It was almost midnight but not quite yet. He was thinking of what song he should sing for her. There were a million options but he was completely stumped. He considered just putting his phone on shuffle when it was his time to sing but he didn't want to do that. He hated picking songs with no meaning. There had to be a reason. He felt like he had been thinking of a song for such a long time, and then finally, he picked one that he was content with and he sighed with relief.

    When it was 11:50 on the dot, Kihyun forced himself out of his bed and began walking back towards the bench in the darkness of midnight. There was amazingly no clouds tonight, which surprised him considering how cloudy it was in the morning. This was the first time he had ever felt super nervous to sing. Was it that he was singing in front of one person? Or was it because the one person was singing for was Bonnie. He couldn't wrap his head around what he was feeling and the thoughts spinning in his brain.

  • ooc; omgggg your outfits are always so cute ;; i don't think i ever described kihyun's?? i dont remember but its this

    ic; Kihyun had arrived at the bench before Bonnie, sitting nervously in the middle of the bench with his hands in his lap. He fidgeted with his fingers as he waited for her, glancing at the dark screen of his phone without even bothering to turn it on or looking at the time. When he agreed to doing this at first, he never thought he'd feel this nervous. He hadn't felt like this since the first time he sang infront of a large group of people which was back in middle school... no, elementary school. He hummed the song he had chosen to himself, almost practicing before Bonnie arrived.

    When he heard excited footsteps approaching him, he turned to see Bonnie coming towards him and he stood, waving at her with a smile. "Bonnie!" he called back to her. He was glad that she actually came, and didn't stand her up or something. They were really friends now. He really had a friend. As she came closer to him, he noticed how nice she was dressed. She had changed her outfit from earlier, and somehow managed to look even more beautiful. Her hair that had been kept in a ponytail for both times they met was now down, falling off of her shoulders. He felt a little bad, since he had kept the same simple outfit on from earlier. Maybe he should've dressed nicer as well, or at least took his beanie off.

    "You look nice," he admitted when she got close enough for her to hear him, laughing at himself as he talked. "I should've changed."
