  • It was never uncommon for an angel to walk the Earth. In fact it was rather unknown for them not to be sent every now and then to make sure everything it as it should be. It is however uncommon for a demon to walk Earth, however here you are, deciding that perhaps a little fun is overdue. The only issue is that fun led to many larger issues being released into the world of the humans. After a counselling with Lucifer himself, the devil and the messengers of God came up with a solution. Get the demon to undo what he's done with the help of an angel, or at least they should die trying. An angel and demon working together to send monsters back to hell from earth...now that is uncommon.

  • Perfect! I also have to say I love your profile. I'll set us up so whenever you're ready just jump in. We will start where we are both assigned to the task of returning the monsters. You don't have to write quite as much as I have below it's simply to set the scene.

Esme should have seen it coming. She was kind and patient, never one who found it easy to say no or cause any unease especially with her elders. So here she was, face to face with a demon, who would now be her companion in the task set out for her. It was safe to say she was out of her comfort zone. The poor angel was used to looking over the mortals and easing their worries, not fighting spawns of hell and returning them, let alone alongside a demon.

But that wasn't what truly put her on ease. There, in the courtroom that was rarely used in heaven sat at the table were the archangels and the King of Hell himself. He sat slumped and clearly displeased, talking in a hushed voice to the demon who began this all. The hairs at the base of her neck stood on end at the thought of what he could be saying, after all it was the devil, he could hardly be trusted. The same went for the demon, Esme however wasn't one to judge.

"Make sure you return every last monster, that includes the demon Esme." One of the archangels whispered softly to her from where he sat before rising to his feet and clasping his hands together. "I believe all has been conversed, Esme and Pyro shall work together on earth until the job is done."

The silver haired angel bit her lip nervously. This would be a long few months.

  • Awesome! Thankyou! I've been excited to jump into this.

Pyro had his arms crossed casually over his chest as he leaned in closer to hear his king whispering his instructions. Honestly, he could probably think of a thousand things he'd rather be doing down in the flames. Being around all of these archangels was beginning to make the smaller demon uncomfortable. Pyro's eyebrows twinged at his kings words.

"If you don't deal with this problem accordingly, i'll punish you myself, got it?" His words echoed within the demons head.

He gulped and gave a small nod before scanning over the rest of the angels one last time. His crimson red orbs shone brightly as they landed on one angel in particular. Her sun kissed skin and silver hair gave off quite a contrast. That must've been the one that he was supposed to work with. He stifled a laugh, oh, this should be fun.

The ebony haired demon slowly approached the silver angel, sneaking up behind her and blowing cool air onto the back of her neck to make her turn around. "So, partner, looks like we're gonna be stuck with each other the next couple of months." He gave her an impish grin, showing off his pearly white fangs.

  • Esme jumped, startled by the demons sudden appearance before she wrapped her fingers together and turned to him, keeping her demeanor as calm as possible. A sympathetic look was cast her way from the archangels as they left, some even whispering a prayer for her. Not that it would do much good for her now.

Her wings were stiff and the feathers twitched uncomfortably behind her back. Keeping the white wings from the demon she sighed heavily and looked up at him through her eyelashes. "I suppose so." Eager to get out of the courtroom as fast as possible she turned and approached the middle of the room hurriedly, her wings spreading slightly as she readied herself to teleport.

  • Pyro tilted his head, noting her tense demeanor. She seemed to be trying to hide her nervousness. How adorable, he thought dismissively before turning to follow behind her. The duo were teleported down to earth in a matter of seconds.

"You ever fight a demon spawn before?" He asked with a smug look etched onto his features. He already figured the answer was no, and it continued to beg the question... why had the counsel sent down one of their own precious angels to work with a demon?

Pyro scanned their surroundings, his red hues contrasting against the green trees and brush dotting the land. A forest? Seemed to be... Looking back over his shoulder he gave the angel and unreadable look "Esme, right?" He moved closer to her again. The demon scanned her over, reaching his hand out to brush the feathers of one of her wings. He clearly didn't care much for personal space, and the angels wings were quite different from his own. "You know, I once knew a demon that collected angels wings." He spoke in a serious tone, moving his hands to emphasize "ripped em' right off their bodies." He was joking, obviously, but Esme didn't have to know that.

  • Once again startled by the demons intrusive nature and sudden appearance she flinched harshly. Shivering at his touch Esme tugged her wings away, folding them to her back as she sent him a disapproving look. Wings such as hers were a sign of purity and she believed a demon was hardly a match.

"Is that so?" She replied evenly, walking away from Pyro with a flurry of feathers. "You'd better make yourself a little more presentable." She told the demon before clicking her fingers. All signs of her wings disappeared, a tattoo taking their place. She wore an off sleeve sweater, jeans and boots obviously to blend in.

  • Pyro huffed - angels were no fun. The demon snapped his fingers as well, causing his wings and horns to disappear completely. His clothes replaced with much more casual attire: blacked ripped jeans, a dark red hoodie, and red converse to match. He twisted himself around, beginning to feel weird without his wings. He noted Esme's appearance as well. She looked mortal... very mortal. "The spawns might be disguised like us, luckily i'll be able to spot their aura's with my demon eyes," he smirked with a raise of his brow.

Mortals, angels, and demons all had different colored auras, so he figured they wouldn't be too hard to pinpoint. Actually fighting them off was a different story, though. "You were a mortal before, weren't you?" He asked Esme, genuinely curious.

  • Esme sighed and nodded. "Oddly I don't feel as though you particularly care." Her voice was sweet and elegant as you'd expect, as well as a proper British accent hanging onto each word. "I'm following you here, so lead the way." It unnerved the angel to be handing over to the demon.

Esme was never one to judge or be unkind, but there was no doubting her distrust towards Pyro. The actual task to carry out didn't bother her, sharing it with such a mischievous soul however did. "And I'm begging you, no detours..." The Angel pleaded.

  • Pyro chuckled, no detours? "Aw, but that's half the fun." The demon gave Esme a fake pout, nudging her slightly with his elbow before he started walking. As he was expecting, the next few minutes were filled with awkward silences and failed attempts at conversation. Pyro was usually a very talkative being, but the angel wasn't exactly making it easy on him.

It wasn't long before the duo finally made it to some sort of civilization within the pines. It looked to be a decently sized town, and there were already many mortals out and about. "Just act natural, right? Easy enough." He smirked, glancing at Esme he took her hand within his - ignoring any protests she may have. They were about to walk straight into the center of the crowd, and Pyro didn't want to lose the girl. Getting a little more serious now the demon concentrated on the sea of people. They moved around them, going about their own business without any second thought. There had to be one of the spawns close to them, right? Pyro could sense it.

"There," he blurted suddenly, tightening his grip on her hand "straight ahead with the red hair. That's one of them..." He looked back at Esme "you ready?"

  • Esme froze as her hand was taken in his own, eventually she relaxed and attempted to ignore the burning feeling along the surface of her skin where he tightened his grip. Following his instructions she set her gentle gaze on the monster he had sensed. There was no denying it and even Esme, a simple angel could feel the shift in auras surrounding that certain entity.

"Ready for what?" She asked, eventually catching on to what Pyro meant she released a sound of distress and slid her hand from his before gripping his wrist softly to stop any rash movement. "No wait! We can't just barge right over. We need a plan and to do it quietly, no mortal witnesses." Esme stated. She hadn't been told such a thing by the archangels, to them it seemed the destruction of the monsters was all that mattered. To Esme however it was a matter of great importance.

  • Pyro was just about to move forwards when he felt her hand slip out of his own, that is until she grasped his wrist instead. He was stopped abruptly - forcing him to look back at her with a harsh expression. He tugged ever so slightly "what? Why not?" The demon pouted, taking one more look at their surroundings. He remained silent for a moment. As much as he hated to admit it... she was right. They couldn't risk exposing themselves to the mortals this soon. Who knows how many more spawns they had to deal with besides this one. It was probably best to keep their mission as secret as possible.

Taking a deep breath Pyro lead Esme to a more secluded area, one where he could still sense the spawns presence. "Fine," he hissed, pulling his wrist out of her grasp "what's your plan then, princess?" He paused "kill him with kindness?" He spoke sarcastically, unable to hold back a smug smile.

  • Esme bit her lip at his remark and nickname which she certainly did not enjoy the title of. "He probably knows we're here by now, he'll leave the crowd and attempt to relocate. I suppose we have to some how intervene before that happens whilst we are out of view." The Angel trailed off slightly and peered at Pyro with guarded eyes.

"What do you suppose we are up against?" She asked politely, her manners not forgotten from her time as a mortal even when addressing the demon. "You're the expert I suppose...Unfortunately." She muttered the last part to herself and awaited his answer.

  • Pyro pursed his lips, feeling a little satisfied that she had called him an expert; clearly not hearing the last part of her comment. "Well, I did spawn him. I mean, that technically makes me his god or something, doesn't it?" He shrugged with a small giggle. "God made humans in his image," he mocked "so I made the spawns in mine." He was having way too much fun with this.

While Pyro was speaking he had been carving ancient writings into a wall of a building beside them. It looked to be a spell of some sort. "Which means he probably isn't going to get caught easily. None of them will. This one doesn't look to be one of the seven deadly sins I summoned though, so I suppose that's good." The demon shrugged, finishing off the spell by snapping his fingers. The lettering went up in flames, and both the angel and the demon began to fade away, almost as if they were ghosts. "This spell should protect us for now. The mortals wont be able to see us for the next hour or so, and it'll be harder for the spawn to sense us." He looked Esme up and down "but we better hurry."

  • Esme gaped at the demon before her. "Your image? Seven deadly sins?" She stuttered out slowly and quietly, already feeling close to a panic attack due to the insufferable attitude of Pyro, Despite her usual level head, Esme could already see soon enough that certain angel wouldn't be quite so holy.

Muttering to herself, she sent Pyro a wary glance, her eyes still gentle despite her worrying. "Do you have a plan?" She asked, feeling nervous under his gaze and shifting from foot to foot

  • Pyro had a mischievous grin that slowly stretched from ear to ear "oh, i've got a plan alright." Suddenly the demon placed both of his hands on the angels shoulders. "The mortals can't see us, but they can see the spawn, so we'll have to lead him to a more secluded space as to not draw attention. That, my feathery little companion, is when you come into play. No demon can resist a helpless angel, especially a spawn." He chuckled "he'll want a taste of that sweet sweet blood of yours." A swirl of flames began to surrounded the angel as he tightened his hands over the girls shoulders, and in the next few seconds she was reappearing in an alleyway right next to the spawn.

The spawn had already started moving away from where he had last sensed Pyro and Esme, but thanks to the demons spell they went unnoticed as they were placed closer. One moment Pyro was by Esme's side, and the next he was nowhere to be found. He had left her, victim to the spawn who had finally been able to sense her without the protection of the demon's presence. Was he really going to use her as bait? He sure was. The spawn hissed as he closed in on the angel, clearly not noticing Pyro reappear behind him.

  • Esme cried out in surprise as she reappeared beside the spawn. Gritting her teeth she took a few steps back, stared directly at the spawn and scoffed. "You know I can really see it now...In my image." She giggled lightly before taking further steps backwards and halting as she spotted Pyro.

As if not to give away the demon, the silver haired angel simply stood still, tilting her head as she observed the spawn. There was no denying the growing fear she felt, entrusting her wellbeing with Pyro wasn't comfortable for her.

  • Pyro acted quickly, slapping a curse seal on the back of the spawn before he could lunge at Esme. He seemed to have sealed the being just in time, for he was only inches away from the angel before bursting into a blaze of green flames and disintegrating completely.

Pyro let out a breath of relief, stepping over the pile of ash and brushing some of it off his clothes with a few pats. “See? Told you I had a plan.” The corners of the demons lips curled up into a smirk “that’s one down...” he trailed of “plenty more to go, though.”

Crossing his arms he bit his bottom lip in thought “that was easier than I thought... but the others might not be. They’ll know we’re hunting them now, and they won’t fall for the old bait trick again. As for the seven deadly sins-” The demon glanced to the side “maybe we should try and save those ones for last. They’ll be the hardest to catch.”

  • Esme nodded, dusting off her clothes and hair quickly. "Sounds like a plan. It's going to be getting dark soon." She stated as she gazed tpwards the setting sun, the crowd of mortals thinning due to most turning in for the evening. "I suggest we find somewhere to stay whilst we search the area."

Looking up at Pyro, her bright blue eyes watched the demon as she waited for an answer. Although the angel wouldn't admit it, she wanted the comfort of a bed and her wings. Chewing her lip out of nervous habit, the girl sighed. "Unless you have another idea..."
