    PLOT.

    gwinnett county, georgia. it's a quiet community on the outskirts of atlanta, georgia, one where nobody would assume anything to happen. during the early 50's though, the government began funding a project in order to try to create metahumans to go on the front line against russia, should a nuclear war fall out. it was called project MKUltra, and it was currently being conducted by the cia. they were told that it would stop during the late 70's but that was farther from the case in gwinette county, georgia, where the experiments still take place to this day.

    one of the many institutions where these experiments were to take place was the gwinnett laboratory in gwinnett county, georgia, under the administration of dr. carey harding. the experments in the laboratory began in 1962. the laboratory's goal was to create a set of metahumans with mind-control techniques, something that could be used against enemy soldiers in the cold war. the subjects were often minors, and in many cases unwitting, as they went through extensive uses of psychedelic drugs, physical and mental abuse, sleep deprivation, and a wide aray of other experiments.

    the same thing was happening throughout the laboratories that were boasted throughout the countries, with the most notable one being in hawkins, indiana. they had managed to create one of the strongest experiments in the program to date with experiment 11. as a result, the government wanted more of her and more like her. gwinnett laboratories were quick to enhance their studies, using the same techniques that the hawkins laboratory used in order to produce something similar to eleven. they succeeded, however, experiment 15 was much less powerful than 11. the laboratory continued to push him until finally, his heart went into cardiac arrest during one of sessions. it was the most powerful state he'd ever been in though, and with his dying breath he ripped a hole between our world and the upside down.

    it's the early 80's now and project MKUltra is said to be disbanned, but that is anything but the case. the experiments still go on within the facility while they try to close what experiment 15 opened, something that has been seen throughout the country where these experiments have taken place. nobody in gwinnett county, ga, knows an absolute thing now and the government would like to keep it that way.


    RULES.

    - all feralfront rules apply

    - you may only have one character whose been apart of hawkins' experiments. i will not permit any more than the limit we already have unless there is a need for more, as i don't think we should have about 7890 characters who are all experiments.

    - no mary-sues!! and no horrible sob-stories either, even if they're experiments. i think there's a fine line between a sad backstory and something that is just like 'she was taken from her mother and then she was experimented on and they tried to kill her so much and she constantly feels worthless' like, things have to be justified.

    -this roleplay is not only about the experiments, and in fact i can see people trying to make it as such. it's about an entirely bigger picture and the experiments are just a small piece of the puzzle. the password is your favorite stranger things character.

    - not everybody will know about the upside down and etc for a while, and i hope that nobody acts all knowing about it.

    - please ASK me before you have anybody related to any of the original stranger things characters. i think i might allow it as it'll be cool to have some things tied into it but i don't want everybody related.

    - nobody is allowed to play any of the original characters. i love them as much as you do but i think it'd be more fun creatively to make our own.

    - not everybody is going to be like eleven. that's just what it is.

    - you can have any amount of characters you'd like.

    - no characters can be under the age of 14 years old. don't get me wrong, i love mike and the gang so much but i don't feel as if anybody should be playing 10-13 year old characters. we're going with 14 because they can still be in the high school as a freshmen,

    - please ask me before you do anything that's big with the plot! an experiment being found, somebody being taken to the upside down, etc are all VERY big plot points and i don't want them either being thrown around like it's nothing, or there to be like 8 going on at once.

    - use the correct trigger warnings when needed

    - try to keep the gender ratio even. you can have as many characters as you'd like, but i don't want somebody to have only feminine characters or only masculine. i want to keep the ratio somewhat even. i'm not going to make anybody make two characters or anything so it'd be even but please just keep that in mind.

    - don't exclude anybody!! nobody deserves to feel left out, and i don't want this roleplay to get clique-y. try to plot with everybody and if you feel like you're being left out, do not hesitate to say something to me!

    - not everybody is gonna be d&d nerds my friends, try to make an array of characters!

    - ask me before you make any sort of sheriff or something just so i can keep it noted, as you'd probs have a lot to do with the plot!

    - just a heads up but i am NOT reserving any of the experiment spots. if you really would like a spot, just PM ME and explain to me why you can't get the thing in! i'm not going to be harsh; i just don't want to hold reservations for people who do not plan on getting any sort of form in at all which is something that has happened in other threads of mine. if you have a reason as to why you can't put it in but you do plan on actually putting in an app, just let me know and i'll keep something tabbed.

    - have fun!! i know these might seem kind of strict but i swear it's just to make sure this doesn't get out of control, and the main goal of this is just so you can have fun.

    Tracking! I feel like it would be cool to have this towns characters more high school ages, because teenagers are awkward and dramatic and try too hard and it's kind of amazing and funny at the same time. Just spit-balling lol

    this is officially open! feel free to put wips for your forms up now; though please keep in mind that i will not be reserving any experiment spots unless you have an absolutely dire reason as to why you can't get a form in yet. i've had people repeatedly reserve things on my threads, only to never actually put an app in and i don't want to hold spots for people who don't plan on joining!!

    PenguinCafe - i also totally meant to answer this earlier but i'm down with that tbh! i only made it so that the characters have to be 14 or up since i think it'd be easier if they're all more mentally mature but ?? i'm sure most people will make teenagers anyway and i think it'd be easier if they were teenagers because it could directly affect them more !!

    PenguinCafe - ahh, did you hit the html symbol in the left corner of the text box before pasting it in? i've found that if you don't do that, it messes up. then you just put the images in while you're in that coding area before hiting the box again and it should be fine!~ if that's not it then like, maybe try to explain it if possible so i can try to help to the best of my abilities ;;

    track! just a quick question, though. do all of the experiments have unique powers? like how eleven had telekinesis and eight had mind-bending powers and all? i'm sorry if i skipped over that in the first post. i'm kind of tired haha

    agara - yes they do! i think it'd be kinda boring if they all were just,, telekinesis, and while somebody can have the mind bending powers potentially, i think they'd all have their own powers for the most part~

    I could totally be missing something/have an unfinished sentence somewhere. If I do, just lmk, I'll fix it right up!
