  • SOMETHING SO MAGIC ABOUT YOU!

    Berrykit - male - 5 moons - kit - Thunderclan - easy

Berrykit trotted out of the medicine cat den and headed back to the nursery. He had gone to receive his daily douse of herbs to his wounds from his torture. He hated how he smelled when he left, all covered in herbs, a musk he wasn't allowed to wash off. He was born a true warrior at heart, he held no real interest in the dealings of medicine cats beyond the basics of cobwebs will stop bleeding and poppyseeds help with pain. He had refused the help of poppyseeds mostly because he felt he deserved to suffer. He had attacked his sister in a dream state, and she had died before he'd had a chance to truly say sorry. A lot was wrong in the tom's life, but soon he would be made an apprentice. He paused before he walked into the nursery looking up at Highrock. He dreamed of one day standing there, not that he had much passion in trying to be leader, just thats what any cat dreams of really. His eyes shown for a moment. First the tuxedo tom would have to train hard, which is something he already did as a kit. He peered into the nursery. He knew his younger half sibling were most likely in there. A part of his heart deeply resented them, while another part wanted to be as close to them as he was to his own litter. Maybe he should offer them a game or something. He stood paused, his ears alert and his gray eyes bright. Maybe he could get help to sneak off and wash off the herbs from all of his scratches.

    PONDKIT

  • Pondkit's ears perked up as she heard a rustle from the nursery entrance. Lying lazily on her back, the kitten turned her head to the side to see who it was, recognising her older brother. She wasn't incredibly close to her half siblings. The age difference and an awkward family history had stopped them from being a close as littermates. But she looked up to them a lot, and they were fun to play with sometimes! Aspenkit had shown her how to sneak out of camp once, he was heaps cool. Asterkit... well, she'd never played with her half sister, because Asterkit hadn't liked her. But that didn't really matter any more, because she was gone.

Pondkit didn't want to think about that any more, so she quickly tore her thoughts away from Asterkit and focused on the sibling who was right there. "Hey Berrykit," the kitten chirped. She rolled over and pushed herself up into a sitting position. A couple of little pieces of moss still clung to her cream fur. She couldn't help but wrinkle her nose a little at the weird scents the other kit brought into the nursery with him. "Why do you always smell like that?" she asked. A few moments, later, she remembered her manners. "Uh, I didn't mean that in a mean way!" she said quickly, "You don't smell in a gross way! It's just different."

Berrykit's dulled gaze found the young kit on her back rolling around. He remembered his carefree days full of naps and games. Boy, he sounded like an old man when he thought like that. Shaking his head he took a moment to wash away all those bad feelings inside him. His tail flicked as he forced away the resentment he felt for Pondkit due to her father being around, "Hey Pondkit!" He let his other bad memories wash away for a moment as well. He had lost his sisters, but now he had a new one. He would take care of her. Offering her a light chuckle as she asked about his smell he answered, "You know...I used to be the best smelling kit in this den, but then I got hurt.." He paused for a moment flashes of his torture playing in his mind before he could stop them. "Now I have to get my scratches treated every day, and the herbs they put on me are what smell so weird. Soon though I'll be done with them! Then you'll see how great I can smell!" He jumped into the nursery drawing up to his full height and puffing out his chest in an exaggerated way. He broke his pose giggling before he batted at her, "I bet you don't have an explanation for the funky way you smell do you?" He raised an eyebrow with a friendly glint in his eye.

  • "Hey, I don't smell!" Pondkit protested, ducking around his friendly swipe. She giggled, but there was a hint of anxiousness in her voice. Did she really smell? No, of course she didn't, Berrykit was just messing around. She shook her worry away, puffing her chest out to mirror his boastful pose. "I'm the nicest smelling kit in the nursery now, not you!" she said. Then she deflated a little, considering what else he had said. "I'm sorry you got hurt. I got my ears scratched once, they really stung. But I didn't need any herbs for them. How did you get hurt? Where you sneaking out of camp like-" She paused for a moment, catching herself before she said Asterkit. She continued slightly slower and quieter. "Um, like me and Aspenkit did once? Dad said that you can get hurt if you leave camp before you're old enough. But you're almost old enough now, aren't you?"

Berrykit lowered his head and shoved his nose into her giving a big sniff. "Yeah, I guess you smell fine!" Then he giggled a little before leaning back his ears flicking as she spoke. He turned his head to look back at the entrance of the nursery, sort of wishing he could exit it. He didn't want his younger sister's pity. He also winced when she almost mentioned Asterkit. He looked a little afraid. He wondered if he would ever hurt Pondkit the same way he hurt her. Now he blinked a couple times before licking his chest to try and cover any of his feelings. "Yeah, my apprenticeship is super cool! And even if Aspenkit seems cool he can't really protect you. You really should wait to leave camp." He would try to find her eyes for a moment as his tortue played in his mind. "Trust me." Then he grinned, "But when you're an apprentice! You can just go!"

  • Pondkit batted his nose away after he sniffed her, but smiled at his declaration that she smelled fine. She tipped her head to the side quizzically as he spoke, noticing that he didn't answer her question about how he got hurt. Maybe that was why he looked a bit uncomfortable - because he didn't want to talk about it. He must have done it in an embarrassing way, or something. Whatever. The talk about leaving camp and apprenticeship distracted her from her wondering. "I know, I know," she said, with a bit of a groan. She had heard the warnings before, and hearing about what happened to Asterkit had helped dull her urge to explore. That didn't stop her from being bored of camp, though, and she still believed that Aspenkit would've been able to protect her from anything. "Yeah, I can't wait till I'm an apprentice! I must be getting close too, right?" she asked hopefully, though she knew that he was quite a bit older than her.
