  • The world of Ageorynn was born in darkness, and the mortals born onto it only knew pain. In those days, there were only two sides to existence. There was the torturous existence of the darkness, and there was the love and peace of the light. Eventually the God of light, Vaklunor, decided that it was enough. He rallied his followers and the other gods on his side, and they went to war with the darkness. The leader of the darkness, Nilutoll, and the rest of his allies, were defeated and locked away. The goddess Projica was assigned in watching over them for the rest of their sentence. As for Ageorynn, well, it was engulfed in the light and the glory of civilization was born. Ageorynn grew and developed for centuries. It was blossoming into an amazing world. The different countries went through times of war and famine, but by the time our story begins, there was peace and prosperity all around the world. Of course, no good thing can last forever. The darkness had awoken, and Projica had let her guard down. Nilutoll escaped. Now Ageorynn is once again at risk of becoming a well of darkness. Vaklunor will not have this. It must be stopped. He has summoned four heroes from across Ageorynn to his chambers, four young people whom he has selected carefully from all those in the world, and tasked them with destroying the darkness once and for all. You are one of these heroes. Please, save the world.

    Let's get Started!

    ✧✧✧✧✧

Ageorynn had a continent, Eozespea, split into four kingdoms, none of which were a worry as of now. The only thing of importance was the grand Chapel of Light sitting in the center of Eozespea, where four young people from across the world had suddenly appeared in the center of the chancel.

The experience couldn’t exactly be pleasant for those suddenly standing there - not a single one was notified before the beam of light plucked them up from whatever they were doing and dropped them into the strange chapel. However, their reactions weren’t too important to the being who had brought them there. There were far more important matters at hand.

The pastor of the church was staring, dumbfounded and in awe, at the person sitting next to them - the god Vaklunor in his human form, a tall imposing force with a warm paternal smile tugging at his lips. The two sat in the pews across from the four young people who had suddenly appeared - the four heroes. Vaklunor’s chosen four.

Vaklunor grinned at the newcomers. “Welcome,” he said in a booming voice. “I am Vaklunor, the god of light. You four heroes have been selected very carefully for your strengths, and are being assigned to a special and nebulously important quest. Balance is being threatened. I am hoping that you all will be able to form the body that will save all of Ageorynn from another period of eternal darkness.” He stuffed as much information into as few words as he could. There really wasn’t enough time to linger on needless filler words. Not now.

  • ✧Kassidee Mae Wellington✧

Kassidee was frozen in place. She had been in her room at an inn, somewhere in the cold of the south - she had lost track of her movements at this point. And, looking around, it was very clear that this wasn't her little run-down room in the inn. No, this was a large stone chapel with a man pretending to be god sitting all smug across from her.

Her first question was what, but what was happening became very clear very quickly - some sicko with a god complex had kidnapped a bunch of kids with a charm of some sort, some extremely powerful magic.

The question that quickly took over her whirring brain was why, and try as she might, she couldn't quite figure out the answer. Why would anybody do this? Why her? Why these people? Why pretend to be a god who she had accepted as myth for a very long time?

Kass had a million questions on her tongue starting with that three letter word, but her mouth was wrenched shut. It occurred to her that she should run now, but her arms were glued to her sides and her feet were rooted in place on the ground. Fear had paralyzed her, that was clear.

She listened intently to the words of the delusional man standing in front of her. It was interesting, but of course, the story he built was completely unrealistic. Four random kids, heroes? Yeah, right.

She waited for herself to thaw in silence, letting the million thoughts and plans buzz through her head, but being unable to go through with any of them.

  • CAIREAC ASHERN

    Mistakes are Memories Made

Reac's eyes opened with a snap, and he was startled to find himself far from the warm bundle of blankets and campfire next to which he had fallen asleep the last he remembered, An impatient clicking followed by a nip on the ear brought him to his senses, and he was relieved when he felt a familiar set of talons adjust their grip on his shoulder. Reac Surveyed his surroundings briefly- a chapel, stone, ornately carved with beautiful glass windows- before his gaze turned to the contents of the room rather than the structure. It appeared to be a chapel, of sorts. Within, there were Five people besides himself- three others roughly his age, and imposing, confident looking man, and an older man who appeared to be the priest of the establishment. The confident one spoke. A god? Chosen? To save the world? What god in his right mind would trust a bunch of kids to save the world? Trust me, someone who couldn't even keep one person safe? He pondered, the words not leaving his mind.

The male's golden gaze did not stray from the one claiming to be a god- if there was a threat present, he would be it. He couldn't help but want to believe the story- since the death of his sister, he had no point to living. This, at least, would give him a goal. Something to strive to. That is, if it turned out to be real- and right now, it seemed to good to be true. But still- how had he ended up here? How had Zaira come with him? Normally, a kidnapper would have killed the bird rather than taken it with- that was, if Zaira didn't take that unlucky individual's eyes out. But she was here, and seemingly calm. It was highly out of character. Perhaps, then, the man wasn't lying. Maybe this is my chance to make something of my life.

  • Kim Jaehyun

Like a shadow in front of me I can't escape you

A soft sound of confusion left the boy as he found himself (teleported? Maybe? Heck, how would he know?) decidedly not at home. A yipping noise left the fox beside him and ignoring the strange situation, he immediately turned his attention on it. "What is it Minnie?" he asked softly, beginnings of a smile appearing on his face. Picking up the fox, he pat it a couple of times before remembering the situation. Right. Where the heck was he? Looking around with wide eyes, he saw three others who appeared to be around his age, plus two older men. One was clearly a priest of this... chapel? Yeah, chapel (oh dear, why were they here? He wasn't particularly religious- he hoped that wouldn't end up being too much of a problem). And the other one was.. a god? Wait, rather the god of myths and legends. Blinking in shock at the apparent god's next words, he gnawed at his lip nervously. No, this god must be wrong. There is no way he could be an apparent 'hero' to save the world. He was just a normal boy. "Um... I think you might be mistaken mister." Jaehyun started awkwardly, shifting the bundle of fox he had in his arms. "I don't think I'm one of the heroes you're looking for."

  • Corentin Makkonen

Corentin swayed a small bit on his feet as the aura changed entirely into a more closed off and quite space. Sliding his lidded eyes open he squinted the dark green optics that desperately searched his new surroundings for something familiar. Nothing reassured that he was still within his hometown, only the pristine conditions of a vast chapel met his gaze. A low voice spoke of some kind of god and heroes making the teen more confused than ever. Two figures stood before him and three others, one looked to be some kind of pastor or something of the sort and another more powerful looking man that claimed himself to be a god. A scoff nearly escaped his lips at the stranger's words and he glanced briefly at another male that seemed to be near his age as he denied being a hero. "Yeah, I'm not sure what you're on about but you've got the wrong people. Good luck in finding whoever you need though. Just wave your wand and do whatever you do to bring us back." He quite obviously didn't care too much about the fact that the man was a god, he had heard folklore about the gods and Vaklunor in particular but he had never believed in the stories so he simply just wanted to go back to Ayla and continue thieving in the town he resided in with his sister. A figure at his leg let out a low rumble of uncertainty and Conrentin glanced down to see it was Nyx pressing against him and eyeing the bird atop one of the teen's shoulder.

  • Vaklunor narrowed his eyes as the heroes spoke. So they were doubtful, hmm? He would show them, then. "Fools," he yelled out, "you dare to question me?" He rose to his feet. The pastor next to him stared at the display with fear in his eyes.

A gust of wind began to swirl around Vaklunor, before shooting itself towards the heroes. The torches lighting the church all blew out simultaneously, leaving a shadowy cavern with only the dim light of the setting sun illuminating it. The pastor stared in horror as the stained glass windows began to vibrate and shatter. Vaklunor cleared his throat. "I will say it again," the god said in a steady, booming voice, "I am Vaklunor, the god of light. And gods like I do not make mistakes." He glared at them all. "I have scoured through all of humanity. I have looked over every single mortal creature on Ageorynn, and I have carefully selected you four. There is no chance that I am mistaken."

Well, truthfully, he hoped he wasn't mistaken.

The room calmed. The wind died away, the torches flickered back to life, and with a little wave Vaklunor reassembled all of the glass. "Now. I suppose whether or not you believe me, well, that is a choice. But rejecting this is the wrong choice, I assure you. We don't have time to argue over whether or not you should be doubtful." He held out his right hand, and with a snap from his left, a rolled up piece of parchment appeared in it. "I have a task for you first. Whether or not you complete the task, that's for you to decide.

"We are in the center of Eozepea. There are four countries here, each of which has a patron god. Each god has a treasure that is necessary for destroying the darkness. I have not been able to collect them on my own. I have marked where all four reside on this map. Collecting them, that is your first task, heroes."

    ✧Kassidee Mae Wellington✧

Kass let herself calm down as the others started to speak out. Surely, they would get her out of this. This psychopath with a god complex wasn't a match for all of them. Ari wrapped around her shoulders, hugging her, and in that moment Kass was sure that this would end up okay.

That okayness suddenly disappeared. She tensed back up as the man began to speak again. The wind blew back her braids. Ari dug his claws into her skin and she clung to the animal, hoping he wouldn't fly off of her. The sound of the glass shattering made her flinch and cover her head.. Tears made their way to her eyes. Deep breaths, she thought, this is nothing.

But there were other thoughts floating in her head, the kind that she wasn't in control of, that knew there was something more to this magic, this voice, this story. There was an air to it that spoke of reality, and suddenly, she was believing the man. What a mistake, She thought, unable to actually say anything. What a mistake you have you make to call a bunch of teenagers heroes.
The wind and the noise and the anger stopped. She looked back up, wiping the waterworks from her eyes. Ari leapt from her shoulders and ran to the god, snatching the paper from his hands, and running back to Kassidee. She stared at her shoes as the paper made its way into her hands. What the hell Ari, why did you do that Ari, he thinks I agreed to this now Ari. What did you do.

This was terrible, this was everything, this was not okay.

  • Kim Jaehyun

Like a shadow in front of me I can't escape you

When the god (?- Jaehyun was still half-half about this. Either way, he was scary as hell) began to speak again, he flinched and hugged Minhyun closer to him. As Vaklunor's voice got louder and harsher, he felt tears prick at the edge of his eyes and he buried his head into the fox's fur to poorly disguise the fact that he was on the edge of crying. Oh gosh, this was terrifying as. He just wanted to go home now and see his sister and his other friends. Not that he thought that this god was going to let him. What if he never saw them again? Squeezing his eyes shut as he remained in Minhyun's fur, his breath came in quick gasps. Needless to say, he was rightfully petrified of the apparent god. When the area around him calmed down, he looked up from Minhyun. Feeling the fox wriggle in his arms before leaping up on his shoulder, winding around his neck lazily like a large fluffy scarf, he felt like smiling at the antics of Minhyun, but didn't seeing as the scary god (guy) was still there. "Sorry." he muttered almost inaudibly. Watching as the girl's animal (it seemed to be a lemur or something?) took the paper, he bit his lip deciding what to do, before approaching Kassidee. "C..Could I see?" he asked. It seemed that there probably was no way to get out of this. Not unless you wanted to provoke the wrath of the god, which Jaehyun decidedly thought was a bad idea. Just go along with it and hope you'll see Hyuna again. "I'm Jaehyun by the way. And this is Minhyun." he hurriedly introduced, pointing to the fox (who seemed to have fallen asleep?) as he introduced him.

  • CAIREAC ASHERN

    Mistakes are Memories Made

Caireac was not amused by his predicament, and neither was the eagle on his shoulder. Zaira let out a shrill, high pitched note when the darkness caved in around them, and the shattering of glass sent her into the air. The golden-eyed teen stared ahead with a neutral expression, unsure of what to make of the situation. He looked consideringly at the others in the room, who seemed to be just as unsure as he- though not nearly as good at hiding it. His expression was dull as he clicked his tongue, which resulted in a response in the form of a cry from Zaira. She landed upon his arm as the small creature stole the paper from the god. He paid close attention to the interactions between two of the fellow teens in his midst. One, the girl, looked as if she were about to drop over in a mix of nervousness and fright. The other appeared to be flat out terrified.

Reac was also a bit scared, but his solemn expression didn't show it. However, his bird's frantic behavior and currently rammy movements were more than enough expression of this for the both of them. Seeing nothing better to do, he approached the girl with the paper. Even if he is a god, that was no way to prove his power. Rude, even. Normally, I'd point this out, but... he very well might smite me on the spot. Also rude. Regardless, my best course of action here is to give him what he wants, get out of here, and then ditch this group. He figured, lifting Zaira to his shoulder so she was as far out of the way as possible without leaving his side. Without her there, he might crack a bit. This being said, he was curious to see what the paper held. He approached as disarmingly as possible, though he could not bring himself to smile. "Caireac Ashern. This is Zaira." He stated, regretting that his voice sounded so stern and stiff. After all, he had nothing against these people- rather, he just didn't want to be here.

  • ✧Kassidee Mae Wellington✧

Kass' spiral of what do I do faded away from her mind as a kind voice reached her ears. She looked up from her boots and gave a shaky smile to the kind looking boy, apparently named Jaehyun, as she held the piece of paper up to eye level and unrolled it, leaning its contents towards him. It looked like a a simple map of Eozepea, something she might find in an atlas, with four red dots sitting in the names of towns. She quickly located the chapel, smack dab in the middle of the kingdom.
It dawned at Kass that she was in on an entirely different continent. Information like that sparked anxiety in the pit of her stomach, but it faded away quickly. She was far away from her father and the lab. The endless fear of him catching up with her disappeared from her mind; He would never find her here.

She raised her hand to her chin and looked over the map, letting the gears in her mind whir. Ryozpa, that was the city nearest to the temple they were in. The three others formed a circle around the chapel, spreading to the ends of the kingdom. Crossing the entire map on foot would take a month, at least. Some other form of travel would be needed if this was as dire as "God" said. Carriages? Horses? Perhaps some form of air travel. She had been tinkering with a flying machine in her brain for a long time, and this would be a good time to pull it into reality...

Her mind went deeper as another boy walked over, and his cold tone pulled her away from her fantasies. As he introduced himself as Caireac, she realized this would probably be a good time to introduce herself too. It dawned on her that she would be traveling with these people now. "Oh, uh, I'm Kassidee."
It was at that moment that Ari decided to introduce himself, climbing onto her head and knocking Kass' glasses off of her face. They reached out and sniffed at Zaira, although her intimidating presence quickly drove the mammal over to inspect Minhyun instead. "Oh, and this is Ari," Kass quickly added as she scrambled to grab her glasses from off the floor.
