  • It wasn't every night that the stars aligned for something like this to happen. A Blood Moon, when the moon passes in the sky just the right way so that it turns red, was due to appear tonight. Combined with the excellent viewing conditions of a clear sky and the moon coming into its orbit at its closest distance to earth, it was a night that many did not want to miss.

A few astronomically-inclined individuals had decided to host a viewing party on the main island, inviting the Shadow Veil and the Rift to participate. Lights were kept minimal, as to not detract from the starry skies above, and there were light refreshments being served on tables in the area.

As of now, the moon was still bright and pale in the sky...

// Cue ominous music. Something will happen later and participation is voluntary!

    "TALKING" || 'THOUGHTS' || 'TELEPATHY'

After receiving the event, the leader was thrilled to finally see the stars for what they meant to be after leaving the Frontier. Their high ground showed the stars in a wondrous display. Blizzardclan, though, only seemed better at doing so. Her interests were obviously peaked to their highest.

Black and white drifted through the long grass as she wandered her way over to the middle of the clearing. Green eyes scanned the area as she looked for a familiar face to pop up in her radar, preferably one of her clanmates or the two leaders that were invited. Nothing came to meet her gaze though. So she took a spot and let out a hefty sigh. It seemed like she was the first to arrive to the area. No problem though, more time for her to steal some refreshments and relax before the oncoming hoard came.

  • Chesspieces' amber irises watched the pale moon as it rose high into the sky. The Blood Moon was a rare sighting and there were so many various myths and legends about it. The head medic wasn't normally one for astronomy or staring up into the sky but after hearing about the event BlizzardClan was going to host, he knew he couldn't miss out. Spending time under the stars with clanmates and BlizzardClan's allies was bound to be more entertaining than sorting herbs.

  • — //hmmmm i'm gonna bring both tavi and soundcheck here :3

Tavi was the next to arrive. Whoa, a blood moon! She had heard about this blood moon, and she remembered watching one with her family once. But it was so breathtaking...

The peppy Paladin made her way through to the clearing. It seemed The Rift's leader and Chesspieces was here so far. A great time for her to socialize. But she would wait for a few more to show up. For now, she would sit and watch the moon in the sky, a soft gasp of wonder and amazement escaping her maw.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — Frank had never seen a blood moon before. He had heard that it was associated with the devil, but his superstitious grandmother would associate anything with the devil, including the moon. Frank held no such belief- to him, the occurrence was somewhat magical. They were lucky to be able to view something so beautiful, and he was lucky to be able to share the viewing with others.

The tiger approached the gathering quietly, stopping by the refreshments table and grabbing a snack before finding a place to sit. The moon was still pale white, and while Frank enjoyed the moon in its normal state, he was more excited for the crimson that was supposed to overcome it later on.

Frank settled in and rolled his shoulders. Hopefully the moon would change color soon; he didn't want to be out here all night.

  • BUT WHEN YOUR WOUNDS OPEN, YOU WILL CRY

*:・゚✦ And here Soundcheck was, arriving shortly after Tavi and Frank. "Why did he even come" was something cycling in his mind over and over, but Soundcheck pushed the thoughts away and took a seat in the back. He wasn't hungry or thirsty at the moment.

    "Speech."

  • YOU SCREAM but there's nobody to hear ! —

    //bringing Ghost and Ozone lol

A blood moon didn't happen very often, especially once so close that it almost felt like you could touch it. Spying the meeting place, Ozone touched down and folded his wings neatly, an awed smile on his face. He only recognized Soundcheck, his clanmate, and Chesspieces from a few of Quasar's seminars. If he became Quasar's apprentice, he'd more than likely see the BlizzardClan head medic more.

As it stood, the dark furred wolfdog spotted refreshments laid neatly on a few tables, and flicked an ear. He wasn't entirely hungry nor thirsty, but it would be a place to socialize. Thus, the horned canid walked over to a platter of assorted fruits and a pitcher of juice and laid down, relaxing.

The semi-transparent feline arrived next, his necklace swishing softly as he approached the designated meeting place to watch the blood moon. The half-ghost hadn't personally seen a blood moon before, and, despite his rather relaxed attitude, he was excited to see what would happen. Besides, he was there with his clanmates and allies. What could possibly go wrong?

  • ALL THE THINGS THAT BRING THE IDIOTS JOY —

Shu was next of the Veilers to arrive at BlizzardClan to view the event, his tail flicking back and forth as he did so. He didn't really think he knew anybody here that weren't of his Clan, though Archipelagoisland was vaguely familiar just through his group's interactions with The Rift. Maybe he'd use this as an opportunity to mingle-- Probably not, but still. He settled off towards the edge of the spectacle, stretching a bit before getting comfortable.

  • Quasar, nerdy as ever, read up on this natural phenomena before he came here -- and he definitely thought th scientist that named it was such a fucking edgelord tryhard, since he initially thought it was a 'blood moon.' There was nothing bloody about the moon at all, which disappointed him a bit. Of course, he still found himself excited about the scientific explanation.

Spying frank. (how unfortunate for Frank), the Shadow Veil deputy took a seat next to him and excitedly started talking. "Dude, do you know what causes the super blood moon? It's just a coincidence, really. Three things happening at the exact same time," he spoke with a nod, as though he knew this all his life and hadn't just learned it five minutes ago.

  • Stargazing had never been something that Irene had ever spent much time on. When she was in Sunclan it had seemed like every ounce of free time she had was spent dealing with the aftermath of some battle or another. But now that she was in Blizzardclan, and things in her personal life seemed to have settled down a bit, it had felt like a good idea to participate in an event. She was still getting used to things around here, and the blood moon would probably give her a good opportunity to get to know her new clanmates better.

Within moments of arriving at the event area she spotted a familiar face. Chesspieces had been somewhat of a friend of hers, before her father died and she went awol for a while. For a brief minute she contemplated approaching him, but the more she thought about it the less confident she felt. Perhaps she would talk to him a little later, when she was a bit more comfortable with her new situation. For now the beige catsune decided to wander over to the refreshment table, her amber gaze occasionally turning to the phenomenon taking place in the sky.

*:・゚✦ So far, the moon was just pale. Soon maybe it turn into the blood moon that was scheduled for tonight. Fright Seraphim Muzikant stumbled as he appeared upon the floating island near the refreshments. Minding his own business and humming to himself, he gathered a drink for himself and went to sit down to observe.

”Hmm, the moon’s still pale. The stars are nice, though,” the white serval yawned and spoke aloud as he watched the moon and stars in the sky. He wasn’t sure how late it was yet, but normally he was sleeping when the stars came out. He only looked at them during event like this.

  • She was the next Rifter to show up, having found the idea of the event something interesting to go to. She had found a group of her clanmates gathering to leave, and had asked an NPC what was going on, only to follow the rest into the place. Eyes would look up at the moon for a second before shifting back down to the others around her, watching as they all conversed with one another while she sat there in silence.

  • Arriving around the same time as Frightfur, the oncilla walked over to her pale mother, attempting to boop his shoulder playfully with her head. He was a lot taller than her when she possessed this body, which was weird. She hadn't been this short in a few months. "You need some caffeine?" she asked with a slight chuckle to her voice.

    Frightfur Seraphim M. !

  • Osiris Fantasia

Osiris padded forward, joining the other Veilers that were coming this way. He smiled at those that had gathered. The young lion cub with flames abound his body, padded forward to take a seat and stare up at the moon. What exactly where they doing looking at it? Was it going to do a trick? "What's it gonna do?"

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — Frank had been lost in thought, daydreaming about one thing or another, when a voice caught his attention. The tiger immediately shook his head and turned towards the source of the noise, a slightly bewildered smile spreading over his maw. He had no clue who this was, but they certainly seemed excited.

"Oh? What three things?" The male tilted his head to the side, ears perked. He met Quasar's gaze easily, his smile widening into something a bit more genuine. In fact, he was genuinely interested- the Blood Moon was a special event, and it would be nice to know more about it.

  • YOU’RE SOMETHING OUT OF A DREAM — baobab — the shadow veil —

The puma would be sure to rush over to the place where the event was being held. Hmm, nothing odd as of yet, but she supposed it hadn't started yet. She would be the sixth Shadow Veiler to arrive. She didn't know any non-Veiler, so she'd just pick a spot anywhere, and hopefully, someone would talk to her while everyone waited for the moon to turn red. She still didn't really know what a super blood moon was, but she could assume by the blood aspect that it was red, at least. Other than that she didn't really know about it. What was the super part about? Would this be explained? She hoped so, and also hoped that it'd be interesting to watch in some way. Or pretty. Just something she could remember enjoying, or liking the sight of. Maybe something that was so amazing it blew her mind? She'd remember something amazing. "Speech"

  • YOU TRIED HIDING ANOTHER YOU but your evil was coming through ! —

Truth be told, Ghost hardly knew anyone there, clanmate or not, so he figured it would be a learning experience to chat with an ally. As such, the half-ghost approached Baobab, eyeing the puma thoughtfully with his discolored eyes. Flicking his tail, the feline commented, "Quite the interesting sight, isn't it?" he remarked, turning his gaze to the rising moon.

*:・゚✦ He was hit lightly in the shoulder and his head snapped around suddenly as if he’d been offended, that was, until he realized the culprit was none other than his own daughter. Zenith had made it to the Blizzardclan stargazing-blood moon thingy, too.

She asked him about caffeine and he nodded quickly, ”Zenith! Howdy. Hmm, yea, I need something strong or I’ll nod off on all of this. You know what they say—early to bed, late to rise keeps ya going I think.” Nobody said that actually, it was just what Frightfur did. He was really that lazy in this life.
