  • Deputy.

    Bearmumble still couldn't really believe it. Him, of all cats. Honestly? An arrogant part of him wouldn't let him be humble and claim he didn't deserve the rank. But the arrogance can be justified in that he would gladly work hard under this new title of his. He would be diligent. He would be wise. He would become a perfect protector of his clan-mates and Pumpkinpatch. This clan would be an efficient, well-oiled machine under his careful watch! He was determined to succeed!

    The tuxedo warrior - no, deputy - drank in the morning light as he exited the warrior den. He didn't feel much different. He didn't feel any added power in his words or his steps. But the title brought with it a sense of security. A feeling of freedom. He could do so much more as a higher position. It felt good. So the tuxedo male trotted to the center of camp, cleared his throat and called, "Gather for weekly tasks!" His voice thrummed with barely restrained excitement. His first order as deputy!

    He was ditermind not to fail.

    //You can request IC and/or OOC tasks!

  • OOC and IC pls

    Ploverkit hadn't the slightest clue what a "weekly task" was, but it was Bearmumble, so the kitten of course bounded over to greet him and take on whatever "task" the deputy had.

  • //ic and ooc please! <3

    Weekly tasks? Being in the medicine cat den 24/7 really made you desperate for any sort of activity. Sanddune was lightning fast as she hobbled over to Bearmumble, giving Ploverkit an affectionate lick on her ear before turning to Bearmumble, offering a dip of her head. He was deputy now, huh? He was going to make a wonderful deputy.

  • Bearmumbled gazed thoughtfully at Ploverkit and Sanddune. He couldn't very well order the two to go on patrols, not before the former was an apprentice and the latter healed. After a moment, he finally nodded and said, "Ploverkit, I want you to host a game. Get to know everyone better and have fun! Sanddune, perhaps you can ask Hopeclaw to teach a little herb and poison awareness class? We have a lot of kits, I'd feel safer if they knew what to and not to eat if they ever sneak into the medicine" he said, hoping the two mollies would be okay with his suggestions. He forced himself to quickly swollow his nerves. No getting insecure now!

    Sanddune - what's Sanddune's biggest dream? Write a one shot or an open "im just talking aloud" thread where she talks about something she hopes to accomplish someday

  • oof thats gonna be sad

    thank you!

    Ploverkit nuzzled against her "mom" happily as she arrived. She listened to Bearmumble as he spoke once more. A game? Oh, geez. That sounded like quite a task for her. The meet and greet was pretty difficult when it came to collecting the nerve to announce it in the first place, but in the end, it went really really well, and they had a lot of fun. Plover supposed the game could end in a similar fashion. Ploverkit nodded at Bear's suggested, but stuck around to hear what others would be, and mostly so she could have an excuse to sit by Sanddune for a while.

  • ❊ Lambkit was tired of sitting in the nursery or wandering around camp. She wanted something fun to do, and just as she was about to give up, she heard the call for weekly tasks. That should be fun, right? The curly-coated kitten bounded up to Bearmumble, paws itching excitedly for her own task to be assigned. She gave each of the other cats a bright smile and a small wave of her paw in greeting before her eyes turned back to Bearmumble expectantly.

    //ic and ooc please! <3

  • Pondkit didn't really know what weekly tasks were. It sounded like warrior stuff, like patrols and meetings. She'd be part of those one day! She let the moss ball she was tossing around roll away, turning to watch with perked ears. No, it couldn't be warrior stuff - both Lambkit and Ploverkit were there. Well, she was bored anyway, and she could do anything that those two could! The younger kitten scampered over, blinking up at Bearmumble expectantly.

    (an IC and OOC task, please? ^^)

  • Next came two more children. He thought a moment, studying the two girls thoughtfully. It was difficult to assign tasks for the young ones, considering he couldn't give them anything that took them outside of camp. Finally, he nodded and said, "Pondkit, I want you to host a story telling contest and Lambkit, I want you to hold a competition of any sort as long as it stays withing the camp walls."

    Lambkit -- She steps on a thorn while either being suspiciously too close to the camp entrence or trying to sneak out. Will she risk punishment to try and get herself healed?

    Pondkit -- How does she feel about having twolitters of half siblings? How does she react to knowing her mom had been with a loner(?) / wont say who fathered her kits and her dad had (at first) abandoned his kits?

    Write a oneshot or an open thread of Pond either finding this out or contemplating what this means and how it might affect her own definition of love and matehood

  • She nodded dutifully. A storytelling contest? That sounded like fun! Like most young kittens, Pondkit liked listening to stories. And she would make sure that her competition was be better than Lambkit's, and more enjoyable than Ploverkit's game.

    (aaah that's such a good one)

  • OOC:

    IC: "I'll do a task, daddy!" Jaykit cheered, bounding up to Bearmumble eagerly. As the daughter of the deputy AND the leader (or so she thought, as no one had told her any different), Jaykit thought it only right that she be hard at work just as much as they were. Maybe Bearmumble would send her for herbs! Sure, it was outside of camp--but certainly herbs weren't too hard to find! She'd be back in a jiffy and line up for the next duty. A warrior's duty was never done!

    ...Though low key, she hoped she wouldn't get something so simple as 'storytelling'. Storytelling was for the elders!

  • jetpaw hovered uncertainly outside of the gathering circle of cats around bearmumble. so many of his clanmates in one place made him feel a tad bit anxious, but he wanted to do his best in leaving the comfort of his shell and putting himself more out there. he'd never get better underachieving and shying away from any challenge that he came across. "i would like... to do something..." he mumbled quietly, eyes staring down at the scuffed dirt below his toes.

    ((ic and ooc pls c:))

    //ic and ooc please!

    Luckypaw was in mostly the same boat as Jetpaw, on the fringes of the group, torn between disappearing back in the shadows in comfort and putting herself out there to do the best for the clan. So, mostly the same yet still different. But, how could she become a great warrior one day if she never did anything for it? She was part of it, she should give back!

    But...there were so many gathered. Mostly kits, but there was still Sanddune and Bearmumble himself, and she knew she'd just embarrass herself. She'd open her mouth and words won't come, and she'd just feel worse. But. But she wanted to so badly. She wanted to be confident and cool and do everything. Maybe it won't be so bad. "Iiiiiiiiii-iiii wwwwo-wwwo-wwwoooo-wooooooo-wowo-wooooullld" She said, ears down as she listened to herself.

  • WOULD YOU JUST LIE WITH ME AND JUST FORGET THE WORLD — daisypaw — trad. thunderclan

    Daisypaw took a step into the group, the new apprentice smiling up at the deputy, listening to the tasks he was assigning. She had never partaken in the tasks- she usually found them silly, mostly a chore, since she'd much rather just sit and listen. But thanks to her new name, and a bit of urging from her mentor, the van-patterned grey tabby blinked her grassy eyes up to Bearmumble, waiting for the voices to die down before she spoke. "I'd like one as well, if you wouldn't mind," she meowed, barely loud enough to be heard. Her stomach tightened in something of anticipation. Hopefully, her first task wouldn't be too demanding.

    //ic and ooc please!

    text -- "speech"

  • Flame padded over quietly, slightly wondering what a weekly task was. She assumed it was a task for her to do...maybe it would be fun? Hopefully Bearmumble wouldn't give her something too scary to do..

  • Ah, Bearmumble certainly was fit for his job.
    Many of the cats Pumpkinstar kept close to her were fit for what they did.

    He was proud of them.
    They'd gotten far.

    With twitching whiskers the tom made his way to the little formed ground around their new deputy.
    "Hey, handsome, got anything for darling me?" Petalwhisker asked.
