    Momoko sat in thought. “Well...” she began cautiously, “i think he probably is more attractive than I, but I wouldn’t say he’s more attractive than you!”


    Yuki held her hand lightly, in a comforting way. “Do you know why?”

    Shigure laughed loudly. ‘Oh Momoko there aren’t many more attractive than you.’ He looked over at Ayame with an unreadable expression.


    Aurora met his eyeline. ‘No. I feel like something big is happening soon. Something that will change our lives forever but... it’s funny.’ She looked up at him. ‘Is Akito getting better?’

    Yuki shrugs lightly, “you ask the boy who spends all his life trying to avoid Akito. Hatori would be the best to ask about that.” He stared ahead, at the back of the chair in front.


    Momo blushed and shakes her head with a smile, “Shigure you’re just flattering me so I’ll take your side in future arguments”

    Ayame was chatting with Momiji and Kyo

    Aurora rested her head against his. ‘You were always his favourite,’ she said quietly. ‘You and Haru. It was never fair on Momoko and I. My dad would often sit in the corner. Of course he felt bad and wanted to help us but he would never blame Akito for what he did. Never.’ She stared ahead silently, eyes empty of emotion.


    Shigure smiled and ruffled his hair. ‘Oh I’m glad.’ He silently looked ahead, his eyes suddenly darkening. ‘Momoko things are going to be changing soon. What with the curse getting stronger I would try my best to avoid certain members of the family. Which is why Aurora will be moving in shortly. Haru has denied it, since he has never been badly affected but...’ he paused. ‘The offer is open to you too.’

    Yuki gave her hand a squeeze and rests his head against hers. “We’ll be okay, Shifure’s home is safe, Akito never comes to visit there.”


    She stared up at Shigure, eyes going glassy as tears start to form. “I...I don’t know. Thank you for the offer but, I don’t know if I could leave knowing Momiji, Hatori, Ayame, Kisa, Hiro, Rin and...and Hatsuharu were still there.” She holds his hand tightly, leaning up with a little intensity. “Look after Aurora. Please.”

    ‘He’s too sick to that’s why.’ Aurora shut her eyes lightly. ‘If he ever found out about relationships within the zodiac, like Haru and Rin, he would...’ she looked up at him. ‘He would kill them. Not literally of course but, still, it scares me to think.’


    Shigure hummed softly. ‘It’s funny really, you people are so scared of Akito, yet you will never run from him.’ Images of a naked young girl ran through his head as she cried in his arms, wanting to be dead. ‘He is very ill you know, and takes that out on you. Hatori is the only one who openly puts up with it, yet none of us dare call him cowardly. It’s funny isn’t it.’

    Yuki sighed and hugged her gently, “He’s a bitter man who is jealous of the happiness others have when he cant.”


    Momo’s head drops, resting lightly against his chest. Her free hand clenched into a fist and rubbed her eyes, shaking slightly. “I will. I’ll protect them. Akito won’t hurt them as long as I’m there.”

    Shigure let himself laugh softly. ‘Okay, if that’s what you say.’ He looked outside and coughed a few times. ‘Nearly home,’ he commented. ‘And if you find yourself turning a lot more recently, don’t r-‘ with a puff of blue smoke the black dog appeared draped in robes. He looked up with his grey eyes. ‘It happens a lot more now. As Akitos illness gets stronger, as does the curse.’


    Aurora smiled and hugged him back. ‘I love you, Yuki,’ she said softly as she noticed the bus turning into the Sohma estate. ‘This is where half of our party gets off I guess,’ she murmured into his shoulder.

    Yuki nods slightly, eyes trained on the gates of the estate, as if on look out.


    Momo sighed and hugged the dog, planting a kiss on his head. “I know I’m not the strongest but I won’t let Akito treat Kisa and Hiro the way we were treated.”

    Shigure looked at her, about to tell her the details of what Akito had done to the children but shut his mouth. He nodded slightly and licked her cheek, his tail wagging.


    ‘Block B, upstairs window,’ Aurora whispered fearfully, shaking slightly. A thin figure hung out of the window, a sparrow sat on their finger. Their eyes were trained on the bus and the people getting out of it.

    “Not anymore at least..” Momo murmurs and smiled down at him. “Thank you for a great night away!” She grabbed her bag and jumped off the bus, running to Momiji.


    Yuki sighed and watched the figure in silence, grip tightening on Aurora a tiny bit

    Haru ruffled the dogs hair as he went by, almost patronisingly. Shigure yipped a couple of times, his takl going crazy with the attention.


    Aurora squeezed his hand. ‘Don’t look at him. Look ahead. Ignore. Ignore Yuki, you must.’

    Momiji and Momoko were talking quietly by the gate, not quite going in yet.

    Hatori got off and helped Kana down, carrying both their bags.


    Yuki managed to pull his eyes away

    Kana squeaked as she stepped off the bus, clinging onto his arm.


    Haru watched them silently, struggling slightly with his bag.


    Aurora smiled slightly and rested her eyes as the bus made the short journey back home.

    Momo looked over at Haru and smiled, “wanna come hang out for a little while?”


    Hatori smiled slightly at her and led her into the estate.


    Yuki rested too

    Haru looked up, resembling a small child for a second. ‘Y-yeah of course I would!’

    ‘Haru!’ Rin bounded forward, throwing Momo a grinning look as she went. She jumped onto Haru, making him drop his bags, kissing him passionately in front of everyone.


    Aurora looked up once they were home. ‘Yuki,’ she said softly. ‘Are you okay? You look pale and you’re shaking.’ She stroked his hair out of his eyes.

    He nods and pushes her away gently. “I’m fine just need to eat something and sleep.” He got up and smiled at her, “have a lovely evening.” He quickly got off the bus and went into the house.


    Momo looked away, clutching her bag tightly, eyes downcast.

    Momiji laughed and shales his head, “ah young lovel

    Aurora frowned softly as she got up, reaching for her bags. Shigure padded up with his in his mouth and wagged his tail. ‘I’ll help you if you want.’

    She smiled softly and handed him a small bag of hers as they both carried their things inside.


    ‘Hatsuharu?’ Rin purred, her hair nearly touching the floor. ‘Why aren’t you kissing back? Didn’t you miss me?’

    ‘R-Rin, I-‘ before he could get any more out his eyes widened as she grabbed his crotch suddenly, literally having the bull by the balls.

    Haru pushed her off lightly. ‘Rin I missed you too,’ he said quietly. ‘But I’m spending the evening with Momoko of thats okay? I’ll see you later.’

    Rin scowled. ‘Why would you want to go with her? She’s boring Haru!’ She laughed lightly. ‘Would you rather ride a horse or sit with a bunny?’

    Haru sighed softly. ‘Rin...’


    Aurora went to sit opposite him, Shigure having gone to take their bags up. She clicked her tongue as she flipped through a magazine.
