Stop it, she was dying to scream at him. Go away! She craved to let exit her mind and echo across the camp. But she knew better, she was a weak link. A runt, worthless runt. Brightpaw had known this very well. Even into her apprenticehood her size had not granted it's self to change. She was still small, uselessly small. Her father and brother had made this very clear. She was a nothing among the clan. It wouldn't change, it couldn't after all. She was never going to be anything other then a burden on her clan. There was only one feline who believed in her. That was her sister, her best friend. Tigerpaw.
When bright did something good in hunting. Tiger was the first to congratulate her. When Bright felt weak and worthless. Tiger comforted her and showed her knew moves to fit her small size. Sure bright knew it was useless the change her weak state. But it was spending time with her that mattered. Bright didn't understand her sister at times, but it wasn't like Bright cared at the time. Tiger was the neutral party that made up for her never ending growing loneliness. She only had tiger. Tiger was everything to her.
That's why that day changed her. The turning newleaf beating down on her long silver pelt. She hated this part of the territory, adders gave her great anxiety. She walked with carefulness, listening to her fathers remarks of them being weak. Bright almost cried at his constant chatter, that was before her sister finally turned to Stone. Telling him to leave Bright alone, tiger's biggest mistake. Bright watched in horror as the tom knocked her best friend into the adder pin. Bright ready herself to jump for her, but it was too late adder's move with terrifying speed. Her sister soon laid dead in the pit below her.
She was alone.
An emotion she rare in her mind bubbled over. It was swirling and waving, a storm hiding under the surface of her quiet and patient nature had finally taken form. Rage controlled her as she turned to camp darting like the wind before she heard her father's threats. She screamed as soon as she could, that stone had killed Tigerpaw. She was bitter, aggressive. It had finally broke, everything she had cared about broke and shattered when the last breath exited her sister's throat. She had made it known. Even her mother tried to comfort her but Brightpaw shoved her away.
``Don't act like you FUCKING care!`` Her fury tainted her mind, she hated everyone. Her family was at the top of list.
``Wh-what honey please..calm do-`` She was cut off before she could finish by the rage filled child glaring down at her.
``Her death is just as much as your fault, as it was his. While he abused us, you fucking knew! And only now do you give a shit! Is it 'cause you're worried this will make you like a bad mom? Cause you're a pretty shitty one!``
Bright turned away from the lilac molly. She didn't need excuses. She didn't want apologies. Bright had become focused on one sole detail, an emotion so strong and drove her to become better. A powerful feeling the controlled her every action. It made her into a strong warrior clearly able to defend herself. She had become a weapon so no one could ever hurt her again, because of one sole emotion.
spite.
