  • [ ooc ] please wait until at least one other sibling posts. this is from the darkclan bengal litter c:

Awaken, be fed, walk around, go to sleep. Awaken, awaken, awaken. Does it end? Being thrown into a metal prison doesn’t really change his life other than the fact that he’s been fed into the mouth of a monster and forced to live inside the creature’s rumbling belly. It is moving, he knows that, but the charcoal tom doesn’t utter a single word. He’s too tired to care, too apathetic to cry for himself. He wonders if it’d really be called a miracle to survive the crash and ultimately the death of a callous beast. He’s never seen such a beautiful but devastating blaze erupt before his hazel eyes, but the Bengal tom quickly ushers to his siblings to follow out. He knows that fire hurts, but their biggest threat are the longlegs that might try to recover them. Without any words, his eyes signal: into the forest, keep close.

He wanders aimlessly, restlessly and fear creeps beneath his fur. He’s not scared of dying, no, but he’s afraid of how many days he might have to endure. But it is a scent line that catches the dark male’s attention, blinking his curious eyes at what he guesses to be civilisation. He wonders if this fills him with hope or joy, but he continues to feel indifferent. Something tells him they might be chased out if he crosses his invisible line, but still he wants to know what is beyond the fog and mist that clouds his flickering hues. Not even a quiver is seen from his lips. Someone, something, will materialise before them, right? He doesn’t like the idea of hanging onto frail hope, but he knows there are bodies coming closer. If he can smell them, they can smell him. He relies on these thoughts despite not knowing this place or having any guess as to what this area may be. "I'd appreciate if you revealed yourselves. We're lost and have no time for games," the feline drawls, and his voice rebounds across the forest like a shrieking echo.

  • Then there was Ivy.

The silver Bengal moved alongside her brother, matching her strides with his. Where her brother saw their situation as dire, she preferred to see it as an opportunity. That was certainly what it was. They'd had no idea where they were going and certainly no say in it. But now... well now they had some say in where they went. Perhaps they were under prepared and not necessarily fully capable of defending themselves. But they were family and they were together. With little memories of the mother that they hadn't seen in some time, it was her siblings that Ivy clung to.

Her salmon hued nose had began to tickle at the mass of unfamiliar senses. Involuntarily it twitched, drawing in the new scents and sorting through them. All she could understand was that there were cats. Lots of them, and they were all somewhere in the vicinity. Inside her chest was a touch of curiosity mixed with excitement. Her tapered tail tip was twitching slightly as she moved, showing the strange mix of excitement inside of her. If there were cats here then perhaps they were safe.

Rook was slowing and instinctively the stockily built she-cat slowed beside him. They were stopping. But she didn't want to stop. Her green eyes flickered to her brother and listening to his words her face scrunched up slightly. "Why wait?" This was the problem with Ivy. "Why don't we just find them?" The feline shrugged her shoulders and pointedly stepped forwards across the scent line. Her siblings were far more cautious than she was likely to ever be. She was too impulsive, too 'do-it-herself' and too into taking a risk to be as smart as them.

  • 「 this is what i live for !!

As Ivypaw stepped over the border, a clear and obviously defensive voice rang out- "Unless you want to be turned away, I suggest you step back over the scent line." Who did she think she was? Was it really such a good idea in her mind to just waltz in to someone else's territory and expect to be taken in with open arms? Perhaps, in her case, it had been an exception- she had been so delirious that day, and then collapsed practically inside the camp, but nobody trusted her after that, and she believed that they still didn't even now. "This isn't a game, and not all of my clanmates would have offered you a second chance- are you both here to join?" Her eyes were scrutinizing, as though trying to decipher when, if one of them would make the next move.

  • ( ooc ) mobile so short and choppy sorry!

Weakly, he tries to raise a paw to stop her but it is too late. Ivy, being the impulsive girl she was, has already stepped over the invisible line. Then, as if on queue, comes a bitter growl. The darkfurred tom puts his paw down, blinking at the fem as he observes her with mild interest. This girl definitely appears to be acquainted with this territory, but perhaps not enough to be the boss of this place. The way she warns them is as if there is something beyond her. However, this is all a hunch as Rook merely sighs. All he wanted to do was avoid trouble and here it was served in an obnoxious silver bowl. “My bad, that was very rude of me,” the tom says, he doesn’t hesitate to claim fault but he doesn’t rush to it either. Frankly, he looks indifferent but at least he is apologising. “I should have made sure to keep her in check.” Actually, that is not his job; it is not anyone’s job. Those things to begin with were such a pain to do and Rook can’t help but notice the tension in the stranger’s posture, earning the clancat a curious twitch of his ear. “We’re harmless. We -“ he realises it isn’t worth explaining and that it’s far too bothersome “- yes, we are looking to join this... group.” He doesn’t even know about the Clans, but he knows they won’t survive on their own as Rook fiddles aimlessly with his paws. “There’s also three more of us. They’re lagging behind.”

  • "Sorry guys! I was trying to speed the others up!" The thin golden-sorrel Bengal rushed to meet her siblings, moving quickly to reach them. "They're going so slow - y'know what they're like. I did try to hurry them up a bit." What was it she'd told them again? "I told them tha-" The feline stopped short as she reached the side of Rook. Her wide eyes had caught sight of the stranger and she'd arrived just in time to hear them talking, their voice defensive and hostile. Brow furrowing it didn't take the young girl long to work out what had happened. Of course. Ivy had crossed their scent line. No surprise there.

Offering forth a polite smile the apprentice-aged cat stepped forwards to meet the stranger, making sure to stop just before the line. "Sorry, she didn't mean to offend you or cause trouble," her tail flicked towards Ivy to indicate what she was apologising for. "I'm Honey. This is Rook," her tail flicked to her charcoal furred brother. "and this is Ivy." Honey figured that she was probably best to introduce them for she did seem to hold most of their manners. Warm eyes moved back towards the DarkClanner. "There's two more on their way, Veiled and Cyclone. As Rook said, we're here to hopefully join."

  • MAPLEPAW — DARKCLAN — 06 MONTHS — TAGS

Maplepaw was always wary of strangers. His mother had been taken away by Bloodclanners. It was only by miracle that he and his siblings were born under her dying breath. The apprentice had his desire for adventure taken away in fear he might die the same fate as his mother. Though, ever since being an apprentice, he slowly began to expand his borders. Gingerly, he would explore new territory when he felt he was ready. Never, in his time, had he been to the fringes of Darkclan territory. Well, up until now, at least. His steps were light, as if he was careful not to set off any alarms. The apprentice would take careful notes as he wandered until he saw Hollowpaw up ahead. He didn’t mean to, but he began to pick up bits of the conversation at hand.

Joining? That was when he realized there were three other cats ahead, one having stepped over the border. Upon seeing that, the apprentice stepped over anxiously. His honey eyes were doubled in size, sceptically meandering to a stop besides the medicine cat apprentice. He’d give the strangers a curious look, but nothing more. His ginger and white fur was slightly bristled. Regardless, he attempted to keep his composure, like his brother Driftingpaw would. His stature was wobbly and tense. He breathed in, steadying himself. He’d attempt to share a glance with Hollowpaw, whispering, “Are they allowed to join?” He was inexperienced in this field. He wasn’t even sure if apprentices could accept strangers into the clan.

  • As always Veiled took as long as she pleased to catch up to the rest of her siblings. Having a strong distaste for being told what to do, she naturally slowed down every time she was told to speed up. It didn't matter much to her, getting to see all the new sights and sounds of the forest was fantastic, and she'd already marked a few spots in her mind for if she ever wanted to go adventuring past their new territory. She was going to rule this place for sure.

Finally trotting in behind her siblings, the charcoal bengal narrowed her eyes beneath the dark mask of her fur at the Darkclanners in front of them, spotting the pointed look of suspicion from Hollow. She padded in front of Ivy, placing her tail tip on her sister's shoulder. "Allowed? We are joining. And you-" Veiled took a step closer to the first Darkclanner who had approached, pointedly disregarding the border to get nose to nose with the other, "-had best quit makin' such an ugly face at my sister." Hypocritical as it may be, she didn't appreciate the tough act.

  • *:・゚✦ Sootclaw

    ——| tags *:・゚✦

"What is going on?" The dark bengal asked as he came up behind Hollowpaw and Maplepaw only to see five young begals on the border. His yellow eyes shifted to the she-cat getting up in the medicine cat's apprentice's face, "Attitude won't get you into a clan." Sootclaw stated, suppressing a sigh. "Can one of you retrieve Lilystar and we'll see what she wants done with these five." He said to one of the apprentices.

  • "Oh, Veiled! No! Do-" The golden bengal girl had spotted anger in her sister's eyes as soon as she appeared beside her. Her amber eyes had widened and as Veiled had brushed past her to storm up to the clan cat she had called out. But it was too late. Her sister had stalked up and not only gotten right in the other girl's face but she'd insulted her, too. Gosh this really wasn't going to plan.

A small, practically inaudible sigh, left the female's lips. She looked to Rook in exasperation but knew she was likely to find little help there. He had a brain and was smart, but it wasn't like him to actually care about too much. It was up to her to fix this. "Come on Ivy. The two of you come back. We want them to like us." She was practically pleading with her sisters. They were too headstrong and too impulsive - too sassy. At this rate it was going to land them all in a world of trouble.

"What is going on?" Honey's eyes left her sisters at the sound of a new voice. An older male was here, scolding her sister for her attitude. A grimace appeared on the cat's maw and she shut her eyes for a moment, internally praying for Veiled not to say anything back and just take the reprimand for once... At the mention of a Lilystar and finding out what she wanted to do with them her amber eyes snapped open. So it wasn't up to the younger cat Veiled had insulted? Well perhaps that was a bloody blessing.

"Excuse me," the golden bengal spoke now to Sootclaw. "but is Lilystar your leader?" The question came with the slightest of tilts of her head. "I'm Honey and please, I'd very much like to apologise for Veiled. She didn't mean to be rude -" her eyes cut sharply to her sister as if telling her not to contradict her statement. "- she just took your friends words the wrong way." A polite smile flitted across her maw. What else could she say? It seemed that someone had to be the diplomat for the group of siblings - apparently it was her.

    Lilystar

    im not your toy !

    347fuwz.png

in many ways, cyclone was far less impressive than her siblings. their coats had been groomed into perfection, perfectly marbled and rossetted bengals to be sold for riches and gold .... but fate had not been kind to her. her pelt is ''ugly'' as the longlegs would say ''unsellable'' ''unprofitable" the words, whilst having no meaning, she could hear in their tone and the actions they raised against her how undesirable she was. but she was saved. saved by a raging blaze that torches the hated rumbling beast.

her breath catches as the cages around her ping open with their flimsy locks, allowing her siblings to escape. smoke floods the trunk as she watches her siblings race away. and why would they wait for her? her, the undesirable? "n-no... st-op!" she chokes, smoke filling the beasts trunk. she could give up right now. she could give in and have had enough -- but thats' not cyclone. "im not dying here of all places!" she spits and with a heave, she kicks fiercely against the wire cage trapping her. the lock and side splinter, enough for most of her to squeeze out. her hind leg gets caught on the metal, contracting backwards because of the heat. hissing, she wrenches her leg out and cries when a streak of fire goes down it.

there's no time to think. her siblings are far ahead of her now. if she looses them ... she'll have nothing in this world. heave after heave, the undesirable pulls herself after her siblings until they come close to a pungent line of scent. soon, cats appear and as she comes closer cyclone feel fear spike her spine.

these cats ...! their coats ....! they all look so different! her eyes catch on hollowpaws gap where a leg is supposed to be in horror. if the longlegs find her she would be thrown out for sure! terrified of these new cats and their certain doom should a longleg find them undesirable, she limps forwards with a struggle. "my .... leg got hurt in the blast...." she admits to her siblings with gritted teeth. "sorry .... for being late ...."

(( injures - hind leg has a long cut down it, may also have metal in! ))

his expression didn't waver as he hesitantly approached, green oculars focused on the group with polite aloofness. they seemed alright- except the one called veiled, she looked like she wanted a fight, and if that happened, he'd be sure to give it to her. for now, however, he held himself with care, pausing beside maplepaw, wondering, briefly, what he felt about the strangers. was the other apprentice thinking about his mother, or perhaps bloodclan? shifting his gaze away, he'd sigh softly to himself, eyes attaching themselves to the last female. "put pressure on that- dusksparks or one of the medicine cat apprentices will look at that, depending on what happens," he'd murmur calmly, tail flickering off to the side., as he pointedly glanced at hollowpaw.

  • As the sound of somewhat dragging paw steps reached her ears the feline's head had turned. Her amber eyes landed upon Cyclone, the silver furred girl pulling herself along with gritted teeth. "Oh, heavens!" Had she been in too much of a rush to keep up with Rook and Ivy to even notice her sisters injury? It was unlike her - incredibly unlike her in fact. As her sister reached her side a male in front of them was talking and Honey's gaze was drawn to him.

Put pressure on it? Well... it was a little hard for anyone to put pressure on her sister's leg wound while she was standing up. But if he was offering advice then she may as well take it. Turning her head back to her sister the feline spoke softly. "Lay down, Cyc. I'll put pressure on it until someone can patch you up." She was already looking back up at the group of strangers. "What do we have to do to join? Someone mentioned something about a Lilystar? Is she coming?" With one sister injured, one angry, one stepping over boundaries and her brother not being particularly invested in much it would benefit Honey's own situation greatly to just be accepted already.

  • 「 this is what i live for !!

It seemed as all Darkclanners (or potential Darkclanners, in this case) were just really fantastically skilled at getting themselves hurt. Not like she minded, of course, since it was her job to care for the wounded, but she had already taken care of two other people since the sun had risen. With a sigh, the three-legged apprentice trotted off without another word, only returning a few minutes later clutching cobwebs and yarrow.

"Gih me a minute." Hollow's words were muffled, since she had already begun to chew the herb into a poultice to apply to Cyclonepaw's cut. She chomped for a moment, before spitting it into her paw and lathering it onto the affected area. The cobwebs would act as a bandage as she wrapped them around the leg, checking methodically for the metal shards and finding none as the cobwebs finally closed together to halt the bleeding. • [ ooc ] this post is weird

It looks like Miss Substitute Mother has arrived. He glances at her with a look of grief, features darkening under the shadow of the tall fir trees that occupied the forest. Told them what? It seems that whatever the girl meant to say has been replaced by the new situation that has arisen, the ashy tom unsure whether or not he is glad that Honey has joined him on his sudden whim to join. He still has very little clue about what they are joining. For all he knows, it could end up being a fat camp and he will probably die of disinterest and boredom. Hah, what a peculiar way to die. He thinks Honey is trying too hard when she attempts to introduce them as sweetly as she can. He is sure that the stranger can see just how horrible he and Ivy are. And then, as if they were a carcass attracting vultures, more felines came. They carried different but somehow matching scents like he and his siblings. They lived together in this so-called Clan. It appears that the defensive fem holds more authority than this smaller cat - go figures.

And just when things seemed to calm down, his 'favourite' sister arrived to blow the situation in smokes and embers. He sighs, rolls his eyes, and sits down. He doesn't want to involve himself with drama and now that Honey is here, he can leave all the hard work to his much more mature sister. Honey doesn't look delighted one bit to have to deal with their hotheaded sibling. He wonders what cruel fate had bestowed upon him to make Rook the only male of his litter. It'd probably be nicer if there was another tom among their group, maybe they'll be more intimidating like the other brutes he used to see within the neighborhood. They all lived like kings while Rook just slept his days away, lying on his back and admiring clouds as they aimlessly floated from one side to the other. Clouds are lucky; he wishes he was just a simple cloud minding his own business, never needing to eat or bother with the issues of others. Yet his thoughts are drowned out when he notices he hasn't been paying attention, instead daydreaming about an impossible concept. Lilystar, he hears his sister repeat. Leader. He blinks slowly at Honey's claim that Veiled 'took her words the wrong way'. He's pretty sure Veiled understood it crystal clear and he is about to mention it, but chooses not to.

Cyclone. Hm, he remembers that he has four siblings and although he knew that 'three more' were coming, he almost forgot Cyclone existed. He would have gladly exchanged his pelt with the imperfect fem. His coat, the pretty rosettes that covered his fur, was something he didn't care about. He didn't like all the grooming and attention he got, but he guesses it protects him from being beaten up too badly. He can sleep while they are grooming him. Rook, seeing the fem limp towards them, feels that Cyclone's justification as to why she is late is a bit of a waste. They can all see it. It's gruesome. Then, on queue, another forest cat appears as if to even the numbers of he and his siblings. Honey responds as quickly as she always does and straight away listens to the male's order, putting pressure on the wound for the previously defensive feline to go apply a tangy poultice onto the wound. In this entire span of what may be ten minutes, Rook has fallen quiet as per usual.

    "What happened?"

Lots of things actually, the male thinks to himself. So many things that Rook knows it will tire him out to explain it. He just wants to sleep and they are waiting for this mysterious Lilystar to magically materialise before them like the rest and gracefully wave her holy paws to let them in. Why the tough security? They're harmless, and even the most brutish ones of his siblings are just bark with no bite. Well, maybe he is wrong. Maybe beneath Honey's motherly aura she is secretly a five-time winning wrestling champion while Ivy happened to be hokage when she wasn't spending her time with her siblings. For all he knew, perhaps Veiled was the incarnation of a war god while Cyclone was a magnet to disfigurations. He sighs. As much as he can humour himself to pass time, maybe he does have to actually speak up. But what should he say? Should he lie and go: "After a fierce and dramatic battle, Honey single-handedly karate-chopped and therefore slayed the fierce monster after Veiled and Ivy viciously held the bewildering creature down. And then, Cyclone with the biggest sacrifice of them all, threw us all out of the blast and was injured herself. I, being the indifferently useless cat I am, led everyone into the forest where we thankfully reached you for I had prayed to the stars that night for a blessing that will let us survive the fight we knew we were all fated to have"?

    Too much work.

    "We survived a monster crash."

    /screeches welcome to dc

Lilystar appears without a word behind her warriors in the low mist, a pair of green eyes being the first thing seen. They scan and assess the situation. Five young cats. Their coats all matching. Siblings. She frowns, a pestering thoughts telling her that these might be a Darkclanners' family. The warriors and newcomers talk, while ''Cyclone'' comes forward with an injury. ''Honey'' seems to be parental of them, ''Rook'' seems to be their leader-of-sort while ''Ivy'' seems a bit calmer and ''Veiled'' reminds her of her own angst-riden teenage kits. A pang shoots through her. If these really were a Darkclanners' family, who was she to keep them apart? Darkclan needed fresh blood - and Cyclone needed medical treatment.

Hollowpaw had begun to heal the injured bengal already. A monster crash, tells Rook. With so many things stacked in the newcomers favour -- possible family in Darkclan, new apprentices, a tough day, one injured -- her response is near instant. "You can join." She speaks without introduction, knowing these few apprentices had been through a lot. "Hollowpaw, Asterpaw or Dusksparks will treat your sisters' wounds back at our camp. Our warriors and apprentices can give you a rundown on how things work in Darkclan. You would be joining as 'apprentices' here, which means you will be put to work. Not right away, don't worry, you should recover first." She tilts her head to Hollowpaw and Cyclone. "When Cyclone is able to stand and you understand how Darkclan works, including the authority order," She gives Veiled a pointed look at this. "You shall recieve apprentice names and become part of Darkclan."

"Now." She clears her throat. It was a lot of information to recieve at once. "We're going to head back to camp - Hollowpaw can we move Cyclone now or should we wait?" Her voice drops, adressing just the medicine cat apprentice.

  • At the other Darkclanner's response to her, Veiled shifted her glare and spat out "Could've fooled me." It wasn't like her family started the confrontation. In her mind, Hollowpaw was at fault for spouting nonsense about second chances without even giving them a first. Who got so uptight about some measly border? It didn't matter that much.

But even with her tail still lashing, Veiled rolled her eyes and let Honey take care of the rest of the talking. Her fur bristled at the mention of one of these strange cats trying to take care of Cyclone, and she bared her teeth as if in warning that they'd better not try any funny business. Just because they were going to live here didn't mean she had to trust everyone right away.

Veiled kept her nose up among the tense air waiting for Lilystar and simply sent her a similar stinted look when she finally arrived. At the leader's affirmation for their joining, Veiled huffed "Obviously we can," but perked up in surprise and flattened her ears when Lilystar mentioned authority. It would take a lot for Veiled to care about this arbitrary chain of command. For now the dark bengal stepped closer to Cyclone, signaling that she'd be going wherever the injured apprentice went.

  • The feline that appeared before them hung at the back for a moment before she came forward. She was a silver-grey woman with green eyes, bright and piercing. It was as if she was judging them, calculating just what to do with them. Under her gaze the golden Bengal fell silent, looking out with something akin nerves. It didn't take an introduction for the girl to know exactly who was before her. It was the leader they'd spoken of - Lilystar.

"You can join." As the words reached her ears the she-cat's ears she felt herself release a breath she hadn't even realised she was holding. A gracious smile spread across her maw, brightening even her amber coloured eyes. That was what they'd wanted, no? It had been Rook's idea but it certainly wasn't a bad one. They weren't capable of keeping themselves safe and well fed. Joining the clan... well they may not know who they were or what the clan did, but they would be safe.

"Thank you, Lilystar." The golden girl gave the older cat a nod of her head. At the mention of the authority order and the look given to Veiled the newly minted apprentice grimaced slightly. "Of course. We're eager to learn." She gave her own sister a cautious look at the flattening of her ears. Despite the look of warning she too moved towards Cyclone, standing by her sisters. Looking up to the DarkClanners she offered a small smile. "We'd like to stay with her, please."
