Hi! I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this, so excuse me if it's not.
I was wondering if there are any kind of site rules against nicely asking a player to leave an RP thread you're running?
I've recently begun running an open sign-up thread, and it was all smooth sailing at first, but recently a player signed up that I'm not so sure about. I had some reservations about accepting them first (due to the thread being semi-advanced and the form not reflecting that, as well as the character maybe not fitting within the tone of the RP) but I offered the player a chance to fix up the form (as nicely as possible, I hate confrontation) and then accepted them.
However, the few posts they've included in the thread have not reflected the semi-advanced skills I (and the other players) are requiring. That was okay, but one of the player's posts now actually seems to be powerplaying (it's a bit hard to tell, due to lack of textual clarity, but it does seem like powerplaying). Now, some of the other members of the thread (and some I know in real life) have messaged me with concerns about the player, which is understandable.
I've never, ever had any kind of issue like this before, and while I don't want to be mean and deny anyone the right to RP how they choose, I also want my thread to be an enjoyable environment for people that sign up under the appropriate rules.
So, my questions is, are we allowed to politely ask someone to leave an RP thread run by us(privately, of course). Or is something like that against the rules somewhere, which I understand if it is.
Thank you for an insight into this.
