    Theodore's mind was spiraling for a moment in what ifs, he almost missed Lucian's question. He was about to brush it aside and say it was nothing, but he couldn't. "It has nothing to do with my feelings about the position. The problem is...I fear once the other concubines find out my new rank,...one of them is going to come after me" he explained. He didn't want to name Rosaline since he thought it would make her want to come after him more

    "Hmm..that does sound like an issue.." Lucian fell into thought then went and pulled something from his clothing. A green jade with the royal symbol carved into it. " Well, I can have someone test your food so you don't have to worry for poisoning. Assign you a body guard and give you this" he handed out the jade. "You can order anyone bellow your rank and they have to listen since going against a order with this is going against me. "

    Theodore stared at the jade Lucian held out to him. It was a small pin and if he had it, he would probably pin it to his collar. He reached out, but hesitated a bit. "You're really trusting me with this much power?"

    Lucian smiled at Theodore. It did seem like a risky decision to give so much power to someone he knew little of, but Lucian felt he could trust Theodore. Since he didn't hold the hidden darkness in his eyes that others had. So clear to read and no ill intent. Lucian felt he could defiantly trust Theodore. "Yep...I am" he stated cheerfully. The moon light brightened up his featured, him smiling handsomely to she shorter male.

    Theodore looked at him surprised, but could tell he was serious. "T-thank you, but I don't believe I deserve all this power. I came from nothing and you're handing me so much. Why are you giving me so much?" he asked

    "Well...best not to put reason behind my actions" Lucian said with a small laugh. It was quite interesting hw Theodore didn't seem to seek this power. " But I have a gut feeling about this, and my gut is usually right." His previous odd actions always did turn out well in the end after all.

    "Then I guess we need to follow your gut then" Theodore said. He slowly took the jade and pinned it to his collar before looking back at Lucian. "Is there anything else you want to do tonight your majesty? You have seemed to have this whole night planned out"

    "Planned? Well it does seem so..." The dinner had been planned, though past that was last minute decisions. His clear blue eyes looked up to the stars twinkling overhead. Falling a bit in thought, it was rather late..Perhaps it would be best to let him go in for the night. "Lets head to your chambers" He meant it as to walk him there then go on his way. Though he forgot to add that detail in.

    Theodore looked up at him expecting him to do something. When he finally spoke, Theodore was grateful for the darkness around them because he was clustering bright red. "My chamber?...is there anything you wish to do there? Or are you just letting me rest for the night?" he asked

    "Hmm?" Lucian had begun walking in the direction of Theodore's room. It took him a moment to realize that his lack of proper words were easily misunderstood. "Ah, don't worry. Tonight I am only just dropping you off then heading to my own room." He stated with a small amused smile on his face.


    He moved his hands behind his back, walking with good posture as he turned his eyes to look dead onto Theodore. "Were you perhaps hoping for something else? Well, another night may be another story" He said in a teasing tone. To Lucian displeasure they came to the room in not much time. His blue eyes giving a faint hateful look to the door of the room before relaxing back to a happy gleam as he looked back to Theodore. "It seems we have arrived. Please, do get good sleep tonight"

    Theodore flustered a little at the emperor's teasing. "Perhaps another night" he repeated. Strangely the thought of what would happen if they were together for a night didn't disgust him as much as he initially thought he would. He walked with him to his room and frowned seeing the door in front of him. He looked back at Lucian and gave him a smile before giving him a hug. "Sorry was that too forward?" he asked pulling away scared he messed up

    Lucian tensed, surprise crossing his features from the sudden hug. He relaxed once he realized what was going on and gave a small smile. “Ah, no it is fine. “ he reassured him. Surprisingly not upset about the action that under normal circumstances he would not approve of.


    Lucian reaches out and grabbed a hold of one of Theodore’s hands. He brought up the hand to his lips and gave the back a small kiss. He then held the hand between both of his while smiling. “I will be off now. Till I see you next time” he then let go of Theodore’s hand before heading off once he saw him entering the room.

    Theodore watched him take his hand and gently kiss it which threw the young man off guard. He stared up at Lucian wishing the moment wouldn't end. Instead, his wish wouldn't come true since he knew he needed to sleep. "Until next time" he said as his hand was lowered. He entered his room and saw his nurse inside. "Oh Marie I have so much to tell you"

    The young maid had sat excitedly in wait. She had tired to spy on the two but was spotted and had to leave the scene. So she was unaware, besides the fact they had dinner, what had occurred that night. When she had begun to hear muffled voices outside the door she had quickly rushed over and waited in front of it. So as he opened it, the first thing he would see was the maid starring at him with a sparkle in her eyes.


    "Ah! What happened? You must not leave a thing out!" She stated as she moved to shut the doors behind him and lead him to the bed.

    Theodore sat down on his bed and motioned for Marie to sit down beside him. Once she had sat down, he began to tell her everything that had happened and even showed her his necklace explaining that the emperor made him a consort. He sounded so excited as he explained and also grew red from mentioning Lucian. He mentioned that he even kissed his hand. "I-i think I'm actually falling for him. Does that sound crazy?" he asked

    Marie listened to him as he spoke of his time with the Emperor. Her eyes widening slightly at the end as her mouth formed a large smile. Her excitement causing her to let out a small high pitched squeal of glee. Once a bit more calm, she reached out to grab a hold of one of his hands. "No! Not crazy at all. You should follow your heart. I will happily support you." She told him while giving a determined look. She really would love to see Theodore by the Emperors side. It would really light the palace up and would make work ever more exciting.


    She stood up from where she had made herself at home on the bed and faced him with her hands on her hips. "Things seem like they will be getting difficult from now on since not only do you have this high position, you now also have special work. So you will need to train twice as hard." Her mind drifted to Rosaline, that would be a very difficult obstacle. "Ah....even though you have the royal command jade, Rosaline will probably find a sneaky way to deal with you once she finds out your position..."

    Theodore smiled as he heard her assure him that his new crush wasn't insane and she would support him. "Thank you Marie. I just hope he feels the same way about myself" he admitted. He really did hope so. Lucian made his heart flutter after a day like what he had. He wished he could be by his side one day, but he wasn't sure the kingdom would be ready for that.


    When she brought up the more responsibilities, he tensed up for a moment, but remembered he had agreed to it earlier. "I can handle extra duties...Rosaline however...I'm scared of her and what she'll do"

    "Hmm..maybe we should kill her?" The maid joked. That would be the best way to get rid of her, but could end bad if they were caught. Plus, Theodore did not seem like the type of person who would kill another. She wondered if he would be able to accept the Emperor the more he knew about him, even the bad things.


    She looked to his necklace, falling into deep thought. "We can not kill her...how about you make friends with the other concubines? If you can get them to like you and on your side it will be much easier to handle her. " She would suggest friending Rosaline, but that women was by far someone who wanted the Emperors hand more then anything. So, he would just get stabbed in the back if he made friends with her. "Getting her kicked out can work as well, but that requires crime and proof. Or making the emperor angry enough with her to rid of her.." Marie fell quiet as she thought on the fact if the Emperor was mad enough, if he would kill Rosaline. That would be rather bad..

    Theodore's eyes widened at her first suggestion and shook his head violently to say no. "I-I could never do that. She may be a wicked woman, but doing that wouldn't make us any better" he explained. He reached up and toyed with the necklace as a nervous habit.


    At her second suggestion though, he felt a bit more relieved. "Friends? I think I can handle that...um do you know where I could meet some of the other concubines? Or maybe I could try to organize a thing?...Wait, what if I make an afternoon tea thing for tomorrow with the other concubines? I could get to meet them"
