Colton was seated on a couch in the midst of a small crowd of people with his girlfriend seated on his lap. His hand was resting on her thigh and he watched as a laugh escaped her lips. She was conversing with a girl, listening to her stories from her trip to India. The stranger he recalled as being Katie was beginning to become monotonous to his ears so he slipped his tall figure out from under his girlfriend and off of the couch. Walking to get a drink he lingered for a few minutes scrolling through his phone and toying with the black ring on his left middle finger.

He stood with his back leaned against the counter, a bored look on his tanned features. Footsteps drew near but he ignored them and continued browsing social media. Suddenly a hand came down on his arm making him glance up with a confused expression. As his eyes met Maria's a mockingly hurt frown appeared as if she had hit him especially hard. "Damn Maria you're stronger than you look." He rubbed the spot she had slapped like it was sore but a playful glint lingered in his eyes. With a small laugh he stopped his dramatic facade and began speaking. "So am I, its great to see you. I forget why everyone's here though? I mean a heard a little talk about someone's birthday but I wasn't sure..." He teased lightly and slipped his phone back into his pocket.

Colton rolled his eyes but a smile was still present showing that he was only bantering. "Sure I'll text her." He pulled out his phone once again typing a brief text before putting up and glancing at her as she took hold of her drink. "How are things with you two anyway?" His curiosity surfaced about how loyal Zack had been since they began dating. He glanced away briefly when another person walked up and he wrapped his arm around Tanya as she gave Maria a small smile. It wasn't entirely friendly but not mean spirited either, more like she was judging Maria and working hard to hide it.

Colten nodded "That's good to hear." She seemed almost hesitant with her words but he didn't pay it much mind as she beckoned him and Tanya to the table. Not that he cared all thatch about their relationship, it wasn't any of his business but he had been trying to be curtious. At Zacks greeting he gave a nod and watched him with his dark eyes for a few heartbeats before focusing his attention on Maria once again as he settled in the seat. "So how does nineteen feel? Old as hell?" He raised a questioning brow and ran a hand through his slightly curly black hair.

Tanya's chocolate brown eyes sweeper around everyone at the table before resting on Zacks features. To her content he was already watching her and she let her eyes rake rake across every inch of him that was visible to her. Biting her lip lightly Tanya settled beside Colten and glanced at Zack once more. "Its been a while, how have you been doing?" She leaned forward with a devilish glint in her eyes.

Colton chuckled "So that makes me really old then?" He had just turned twenty one a couple months ago but the small age gap between them never got in the way of their friendship. He glanced at Tanya and Zack talking amongst themselves but didn't pay them much attention. "You look good though, tired, but good." He knew she had just came back from work so it was understandable that she would be a bit exhausted. And of course he'd be lying if he didn't say she was pretty, even when she looked windswept and tired. But she had never been more than a friend to him and he didn't plan on making any advances, he had Tanya after all.

"Same here, I'm just bored you know? Same thing everyday. I'm looking for something different..." Tanya briefly glanced at Colton with a bored look on her caramel features. She looked back at Zack through her dark lashes and let a small flirty smile grow on her lips. "You interested?" It came out just low enough for him to hear as she slipped her hand under the table and let her slender hand rest on his leg.

He laughed and raised a brow at her next words. "Not at all, you delivered a baby?" Surprise and curiosity was evident in his voice. He never talk considered what it would be like having to deliver babies and just having to be in a hospital for so many hours at a time. Though he would never admit it, hospitals intimidated him so he avoided going to any unless he really needed to.

Tanya laughed slightly "I mean there's always my car. Or we could go back to either my place or yours..." Her voice trailed off am she considered their options.

Colton leaned back so his back was against the booth. "I'd never be able to do something like that." His voice was a little distant as if he were imagining himself in a situation similar to what she had explained. Moving over he let Tanya through as Zack explained that they were going out to smoke. Colt personally hated smoking, it didn't do any good for anyone and it smelled terrible so naturally he frowned at the fact that Tanya was going. They had agreed that she would work on fixing her habit but apparently that was being disregarded tonight. Sighing he shook his head and took a look at Maria. "You have anything else planned for tonight? Like getting blackout drunk or going to a club?"

Tanya smirked as she watched Zack stand, she quickly followed suit and gave Colten a lingering kiss just for the fun of it. He seemed exasperated at the fact that she had said she was going out to smoke but she really couldn't care less at this point. She couldn't get to the car fast enough and quickly unlocked the vehicle to let herself and Zack in.

Colton nodded almost too eagerly, he was obviously totally open to the idea of getting drunk. "Hell yeah, I'm down. I just wont show up at work tomorrow." He gave a nonchalant shrug and a roguish smile. Working as a car mechanic he could afford to simply not show on some days, it was only a job to keep him busy while he finished up his studies to become a biologist anyway. Grabbing himself a drink he downed a portion and gave a small content sigh. "You know, last time I got drunk I ended up getting a scar." His tone was lighthearted as if he didn't mind the fact he had gotten injured. Turning his hand over he showed her the still bright pink scar on the back of his hand.

Tanya didn't hesitate to lean over and pull Zack towards her. She let their lips connect in a lust filled manner as her hands gripped his shirt.

"Better hurry up then" He watched her take a gulp and let out a small laugh. He wasn't surprised when she guessed correctly how he had he had cut his hand. "Yeah, got into a bit of a fight and I may or may not have totally missed when I was trying to punch the guy." He laughed but soon quieted as he followed Maria's gaze around the bar. "It shouldn't take ten minutes for a smoke." He worded a slightly skeptic tone in his voice. Surely Tanya and him had just gotten into a deep conversation or something of the sort? He nearly scoffed aloud at his own thoughts. A deep conversation between a guy that slept around and a girl that just possibly could be heartless enough to cheat? "Should we go see?" His question was hesitant and he avoided Maria's eyes as he spoke.

Should they go back and act like they never saw and then like kiss in front of Tanya and Zack or should they interfere now?

Colton followed her out and stuffed his hands in his pockets against the cold. He already had his eyes on Tanya's car as Maria glanced around, he could recognize from a good bit away since it was so familiar to him. He walked with her up to it and stopped a few feet away. Maria let out a questioning sound as if she were trying to guess what was going on and Colton stayed eerily silent. He averted his gaze that seemed to have gotten ten times as cold as they were while they were in the bar. He glanced at Maria trying to keep from looking at the scene in the car all the while briefly preparing himself for the confrontation. "You alright?" There wasn't really any concern in his voice, it was just emotionless. He didn't know whether he wanted to beat the crap out of Zack or scream at Tanya until his throat was sore.
