  • NEAL C.

//please wait for neal to post once before posting in the thread. thanks!!

Within the west of The Renegades' territory, Sunwacther was casually floating down the river that cut through the deciduous forest. Thank goodness the snow hadn't melted yet, otherwise she probably would've already drowned in aforementioned river. For now, the pup was quite content, giggling and splashing as the river gently carried her deeper into the forest. It wasn't unusual for the Rifter to have wandered so far away from her home, or to be found carelessly swimming in a body of water. She was also relatively fearless, having claimed the oh-so-scary Deathstroke has her other other daddy. The skulls that were strewn about the undergrowth of the forest didn't catch her eye, as she was too busy playing in the river. Even then, she might've disregarded them as mere decorations or rotten prey, rather than the former heads of sentient beings like her.

  • with such a expansive territory, neal wanted to make sure he knew every nook and cranny as he adjusted to his new home. after all, such knowledge would be important if he ever had to run any investigations within the renegades. of course, now that he was living as a canine, he certainly wouldn't be handling cases for the fbi. it was disappointing, but it was something he was beginning to come to terms with. it seemed that life here would certainly prove to be just as exciting, he just wanted to know when. the canine thrived for excitement and the somewhat slow day to day life of his clanmates was certainly he despised.

however, there was no rule against making his own fun, so that's what he did. neal has decided to check out the river that cut through the territory today, hearing that it was certainly a spectacle to behold. it was no hudson river, but it was still pretty cool. neal thought the skulls were a bit much, but anything to scare off enemies seemed to be more than necessary around these parts.

a splashing sound accompanied by giggles surprised the malamute. he looked down towards the sandy shores of the river to see a young wolf playing by herself. neal didn't recognize the canine, nor could he recall any of his new clanmates bearing a similar resemblance to her. as he drew closer, it hit him. this was no renegades member, this was an enemy! neal had been taught the scents of allies and enemies, and immediately recognized that the pup was from the rift. from what he understood, that meant trouble.

neal wasn't exactly sure what to do. clan politics were something he had yet to master yet, but he certainly knew what he would do if he was still an agent, arrest her. the alaskan malamute padded over to the canine with a straightforward look in his stunning blue eyes. it was just a child, and he felt an immense guilt as he began to formulate what he would say. however, what if she was some ploy by the enemy? neal didn't want to take his chances, especially with the eyes of his new clanmates watching over him.

"hey! you know you can't be here, right?", neal said as he stood before the wolf, looking down on her as she played in the river. it was cute and all, but he wasn't about to be deceived by the rift like this. "you're in a bit of trouble miss. i'm not gonna hurt ya, but i am gonna have to take you back to camp to see what koday's gonna do with you", he added as he attempted to direct the canine in the direction of their main camp.

  • ❝ HEAVEN NEVER WANTED HER INSIDE ❞

They called her a villain. She did think, say and do very villanous things, after all. She wanted to eat people. Her own 'clanmates', anyone really. Anyone that wasn't Abathur. And she thought about the most vile things (how people knew of these thoughts, she would never know). But was it really her? Her brain had been messed up due to Abathurs handling and the lack of oxygen for so, so long. She had been brain dead for ages. And being suddenly pulled back into the light ought to do something to a person, you know?

So it made sense that her first thought upon seeing the young wolf was to eat it. She was small, a perfect meal for the equally small feline in chains. And she seemed vulnerable. A different smell was attatched to her and Littlesoldier had magically learnt that this meant she wasn't from... here- this place. So she was an outsider and that made her weaker and that made her easier too. She knew that. Drool practically slid from her exposed gums as she watched Neal nudge and point Sunwatcher in the direction of main camp. She tugged on the black iron chain that held her tight and the npc at the other end, holding it close, grumbled but obliged, allowing her to take the lead for once. She pressed on behind Neal and Sunwatcher, golden eyes giving off a hungry glow. The npc caught on to this 'hunt' and before she could come within inches of Sunwatcher, she was yanked backwards. Littlesoldier showed her exasperation and frustration with the restrains by slicing up the ground and cursing aloud. "Me eat pup. ME. EAT."

The npc just shook his head angrily and she slammed her paws into the ground, mimicking an angry child that had their candy taken away, before snapping her teeth, closely watching Neal and Sunwatcher.

the concept of a villain was....perceptual. there were many that were deemed as villains for having certain beliefs, for having a different ideal and theory of life. they were deemed villainous for being different. in ways, it was wrong. as just because they held certain beliefs didn't mean they were automatically to be labeled as a monster bringing nothing but agony. but, he supposed there was always a reason for actions, whether that be putting a label or being the one labeled. and that? that's where things got tricky, certainly. what was wrong? what was right? while morals defined most, there was always a grey area...and it was in those unknown areas that the beliefs of both wrong and right meddled with logic and emotions. a tricky thing labels as those were.

koday had a habit of wandering. that much was very well known as he often just traveled around to talk to others and chill out - mayber learn something about the world around him. it had been a trait of his since....he was a kid, really. he always longed to go adventures and see new things, and he had. the young prince at the time took no extra precautions to determine where he was going....and because of that, he had been in far too many occasions where he'd wounded up in trouble with the locals of whatever he went to. why? well, either his wit didn't set well with others or they just....didn't appreciated some stranger with no ties showing up at the border for no reason but to check it out. but hell, looking back at it now, if he were them he certainly would have been skeptical as well. maybe not an ass as they had been, but from an older and a little more guarded standpoint...he could see the troubles with someone with unknown intentions wandering. perhaps he had grown up a bit ( though only a little, really ), through all he had learned about how people acted. but there was still a part of him that, too, wanted to go back to the days of fearless and careless travel. so, in a way, the prince could relate to sunwatcher's want to just be wherever she wanted....but, there was always a fine line between simply visiting because of interest, and then trespassing. and when it came to the matters of it, she was doing the latter. a big no-no in his book. they had enough enemies on their asses as it was...and to have people without the intent to join came spewing across was more than dangerous. something they couldn't afford right now.

it was upon one of his many patrols during the day that the canine caught a scent, and one that held nothing good with it. it was the smell of the rift - the group that was utterly petty and held less morals than the renegades did. they were the ones that asked them to turn assassin over to be tortured and injured beyond belief because apparently some mishap happened over there before. they expected them to turn over family...and that was one thing that koday knew the renegades would not do. but the idea that the rifters had even asked them to do so, as if they would do that to their own, was something he could barely bring himself to think about. he could only imagine how poorly they functioned over there, with that mentality. with an annoyed huff at the notion they were being raided or getting a talking to again, the direwolf began to make his way over, following the scene at a leisurely pace. it wasn't until moments after that he came to terms that...this wasn't leading to the border. no, no, this was already in the territory. with a small growing concern, his golden gaze narrowed and he picked up his pace, trailing the scent to the river, following it. the scent was...everywhere. obviously, whoever this was had been moving around a lot. ears perked, he continued to look for where this person was. his search got easier, though, as the now familiar, yet still creepy, yells from lit sounded from a little ways away. well, bingo. that would do it. turning on his heel, the direwolf followed the sounds of...what sounded like neal.

"i'm going to do what now?" pondered the prince as he arrived after his name was spoken. tearing his gaze away from the dude who spoke, his eyes flicked over the form of littlesoldier and then to the young and quite small pup which carried the strong scent of the rift that he had smelled before. it took him a moment, his face scrunched in thought as he tried to decide exactly what he was going to be doing per what neal said. there was a child. a rifter child, here in their territory near the river. immediately thoughts of what could have possibly been happening ran through his head. was she poisoning the water supply? it seemed to be a common practice in battles, nowadays...and it had claimed many lives. but...how the hell old was she? he wasn't about to start up some shit and rumors that came across other clans saying they were child kidnappers and whatnot. ears pushing back, the large canine stepped up to place himself a little bit aways from littlesoldier, eyeing the kid with a bit of skepticism. "you're on enemy territory, kid." he spoke slowly. was there any good way to handle this situation? koday had no clue...but, there was a chance this was a game the rift was playing to hurt the renegades....and with the safety of everyone here, it was a tough choice. keep her from returning home and question her, and there was a chance of another raid. let her go, and more lives may be lost because there was no telling what intel she was trying to gather. and with that thought, he turned his head, his gaze lingering upon the pup, before flicking back to the male. "neal, what was she doing when you found her?" koday questioned, his gaze locking onto the other's briefly. kodes was going to do his best not to assume and jump to conclusions...it was best not to do so, especially in matters as these ones.

[ aaa you want her captured, correct?? just want to make sure before any decision is made! ]

Chip's ears pinned back at Littlesoilder's screaming. How loud... How dangerous. They rolled their eyes, taking a seat next to the other renegade members. It was sad. This child was all alone. Chip blinked. They turned up to Koday, a smile on their muzzle. The right answer would be to return her home. they reminded. There was no need to keep a child here. Let them off with a warning and let them be free. They couldn't stand to see a child in pain. They didn't exactly like kids, but they were okay if they kept a distance.
