    when you're fast asleep. I

n dreams you will lose your heartaches.

Whatever you wish for, you keep.

Have faith in your dreams, and someday,

    Plot:

Muse A is a senior in high school, ready to get out of the suffocating city of Castlebrook, Georgia.

They've lived here all their life, but since their mother and father were killed in a freak accident when Muse A was young,

it just hasn't felt like home. Suddenly people are looking at you differently... if they're looking at you at all. To make it all worse,

Muse A's home life sucks too. Their adoptive mother, who happens to be Muse A's mother's sister

is a world class witch and is willing to stop at nothing to get her own

children ahead in life. Knowing that Muse A has potential to break away from this place and leave it forever, the adoptive mother

does everything in her power to make their life a living hell.

Muse B, on the other hand, has everything they want. They're talented, attractive, popular, and perfect. Life's great! Or at least that's how it looks.

The two constantly meet around school, though they never have conversations lasting more than a few minutes

because of some interruptions. They really start getting to know each other and even share a few moments here and there when Muse A starts working for

Muse B's family, cleaning their house and taking care of the property.

Eventually the annual Halloween Howler Dance rolls around and Muse B is planning to attend with one of Muse A's siblings.

With everyone in costumes, Muse A thinks that this is finally their chance to get closer to Muse B.

This, of course, proves more difficult with Muse A's family in the picture, but could the two ultimately defy all odds?

Worlds collide and lives change forever. Sound familiar? Cause it's a tale as old as time.

Jonas loved mornings. Looking down at the camera in his hands, he smiled to himself. The property he lived on with his cousins and his aunt was huge and there was a lake in the woods that was perfect for taking pictures of the sunrise. No one else in his house got up before the sun was in the sky, making this the perfect time for the young man to get some time alone. Mornings like these proved to be the best medicine for a kid like Jonas. Without this little escape, he wasn’t sure how he would make it through the day.

Somewhere in the distance, a bell echoed across the property. Aunt Hodge was awake and it was time for Jonas to get to work. Turning away from the lake to walk back towards the house, the young man froze in his tracks as a huge stag raised its head in curiosity. The animals here had gotten over being afraid of him, so as he raised his camera to snap a few pictures, the deer made no attempt to flee. In fact, it even looked like it might’ve been posing for him. He could have stayed out there forever, in the company of the animals and nature, but when he heard the distant ringing of the bell again, he knew he had to go. Saying a quiet thank you to the buck, he carefully skirted around the creature, sure to give it a wide berth, before taking off towards the house.

By the time he reached the house again, Jonas was a bit winded. He stopped at the small shed-like house that had been erected in the yard for him to live in. Aunt Hodge hated spending money on him, but this had been a mutually beneficial arrangement that kept Jonas out of the house when he was unwanted. Grabbing his backpack and doing a quick once-over of his appearance, he shrugged. The mornings had been colder lately, with the promise of warming up only slightly by the end of the day. For his outing, Jonas had dressed in a pair of faded jeans and a plain, dark grey sweater over a white t-shirt. It wasn’t fancy, but it would have to do.

The bell rang one last time before the young man burst into the kitchen, looking winded and a bit unkempt. Immediately the old woman holding the bell frowned at him, her nose wrinkling up with judgement. “Where have you been? I’ve been ringing that bell for almost fifteen minutes.” Jonas wanted to make a comment about how he wasn’t a trained dog or a servant, but in a way, that was all he was to these people. Instead, he sat his stuff down by the door and ran a hand through his wild brown hair. “Sorry, I was getting ready. I came as fast as I could.”

She simply scowled as she put the bell down on the window sill and turned away from him. “Clearly you did not come ‘as fast as you could,’ but no matter. Go wake up your brothers and tell them it’s time to go. You will be driving them to school and home today.” The hag spoke with such conviction as if this simple truth had already been decided. Jonas bit his tongue to keep from saying something to get himself in trouble, before spitting out a simple, “yes, ma’am,” and turning to head upstairs. An hour and a couple bruises later and the three boys were piling into Jonas’s jeep. The vehicle was old and a bit ratty, but it was one of the few things left to him by his father, so he couldn’t complain.

Jonas rode in silence while Rodney and James argued about something or discussed who they were planning on taking to the dance in a month. Jonas had never understood the obsession with attention those two had, but he knew better than to draw attention to himself by opening his mouth. Instead, he just rolled his eyes and sped up, hoping to get to school faster. When they finally got there, the other two wasted no time getting out. James turned to face Jonas and pointed a finger at him. “Be ready to go at 4 o’clock, okay? No later than that.” Jonas raised his hand and waved that he’d heard James, driving towards the parking lot without a word. Pulling his jeep in next to a fancy looking smaller car, he sighed and took a moment to clear his head before getting out and collecting his stuff. This was going to be a long day.

  • - sorry this post is a bit late, i too had a lot of homework c: -

mornings were never a problem for savannah. growing up with eleven older siblings, she was accustomed to being woken up at the crack of dawn by one of her siblings, either screaming, crying, sometimes even the sound of breaking glass. with most of the elder children gone, foxwood manor, the old mansion that sat upon a hill in the richer area of town, was rather quiet, the occasional sound of heels belonging to a maid or two whisking past her bedroom door.

waking up at half past five in the morning gave savannah enough time to shower and brush her teeth quickly. she now stood rooted in front of her walk-in closest, nose scrunched up as she looked at the many articles of clothing, holding a thin towel close to her body as she tried to make up her mind. it usually took savannah a while to choose an outfit to wear, she was the picky type, one of the few things she had taken after her mother. savannah looked little like her mother, the only thing they had in common was their slim figure and blonde hair, but that was due to the fact that her mother dyed her naturally red hair blonde to look more like the 'trophy wife' she was deemed to be. other than that, savannah had taken after her father, same brown eyes, pale skin, soft features. after nearly twenty minutes, savannah threw together a decent outfit that consisted of a stripped blue and white t-shirt and high waisted burgundy skirt paired with smokey eyed make up, red lipstick, and a pair of black louis vuitton shoes that she had recently gotten using her father's credit card.

living the life of luxury was the thing savannah was most accustomed to. her father owned a series of five-star hotels around the world and her mother was from an irish family who owned a company in which manufactured farm supplies, which she had inherited the day her own father died. savannah never thought her parents had a 'fairy-tale romance' like she always dreamed she would have one day. she knew the arrangements of her parent's marriage; her mother had a failing business and her father's had just reached the top of the market, it was a perfect arrangement. she knew neither of her parents loved each other, but she liked to pretend that they did, just for a little while at least. her father wasn't the sentiment type and he gave material objects to savannah and her mother, as though their love could be bought. for savannah, it was enough.

reaching the bottom of the stairs, savannah made her way into the dining room where her mother waited for her. the table was fit to sit twenty or more people but the only person sitting at the table was her mother, who sat at the head, across from where her husband would usually sit. brannagh daly-prince was terrifyingly beautiful as she gazed up at her youngest child with cold, emotionless eyes. she sat tall, back arched only slightly as she sat in a black halter neck dress, her dyed blonde hair pulled into a high, tight bun. her sharp nose was turned upwards as she regarded her daughter with cold resentment. of course brannagh didn't hate her daughter, she loved her dearly, for savannah was the only one who stood by her side.

"where is father?" savannah asked, taking her seat next to her mother. a maid scurried over and place a bowl of oatmeal in front of her, as savannah nodded in a quiet thanks.

"he left for mr.s roberts's house early this morning," her mother answered in a quiet voice as she laid her spoon down on the plate that her own bowl rested on. "they two of them have a few things to discuss."

"it couldn't have waited until after i left?" savannah inquired softly. "he knows i hate when i don't see him in the mornings."

brannagh sighed and folded her hands in front of her, pursing her lips. "you know your father savannah, work is his one true love."

that she did know. sometimes savannah felt that her father loved his work more than he loved his own kids. she wouldn't be surprised if that were the truth, but she buried her feelings deep down. it was quiet between the two of them for a while, neither of them choosing to speak. after a moment too long, her mother spoke up, "you should probably eat before you're late, darling."

savannah looked at the bowl in front of her before pushing it away slightly. "i'm not hungry," she said before getting up and exiting the dinning room. as she reached the entrance, she was handed her chanel bag by the eldest maid, mona, who smiled warmly at the youngest prince child. with a quiet thank you, savannah exited the manor doors and headed for her silver aston martin, which she climbed into and started up. the drive to school was filled with soft italian music, the type she liked to listen to when she was upset. reaching school, she parked her car in an open parking spot before pulling the keys out of the ignition. she took a moment to get herself together before getting out of the car and striding into the school, head held high.

Jonas stood at his locker, collecting the things he would need for his next few classes. He couldn't wait to get to his photography class later and develop the pictures he'd taken over the last couple days. While the world had definitely turned digital, Jonas had been left with his father's old antique. He, of course, didn't mind this in the slightest, because it gave him the chance to learn how to develop his own film in the dark room at the school. His brothers had spread rumors that he actually liked to play with himself while he was alone in their, but Jonas didn't care what they said. He enjoyed the quiet time that he got to spend with just himself and his photos. In a way, it helped him feel closer to his father.

Collecting the last of his books, Jonas stepped back and closed his locker, releasing a bit of a sigh that had built up in his chest. "Just a few more months," he said quietly to himself as a group of guys passed behind him, laughing and loudly catcalling him. He saw Rodney in the middle of them and knew that whatever they were laughing at was probably prompted by his jerk of an adoptive brother. Closing his eyes, he shook his head and turned to head down the hallway the opposite direction. Somewhere ahead of him a small commotion was taking place, but Jonas couldn't tell what was going on until he got closer.

Upon further inspection, he realized it was a small group of students ogling one Savannah Prince. She was well known around the school for her beauty as well as her family's wealth. Personally, Jonas had never cared much for either, but it was a bit amusing that everyone in the school seemed to be so smitten with her. Shrugging, he turned and ran directly into James. Before Jonas had time to jerk away, the older boy shoved him right into the arms of one of the other football players. Jonas struggled a bit, but the boy casually led him away so no one would see them. When they were around the corner, out of sight, Jonas ripped his arm out of the bigger guy's grip and turned on his brother.

"What the heck, James?" Jonas demanded before his brother took a threatening step forward. Jonas held his ground, staring into the eyes of the slightly shorter boy. "Were you enjoying the show back there?" James commented, crossing his arms over his chest. Jonas shrugged and rolled his eyes. "What's it to you?" Without warning, James shoved him again, knocking him against the wall. "Stay away from her, you prick. You don't even stand a chance with her, so just back off." With one more aggressive shove, James turned and headed off down the hall with his lackeys in tow. Jonas simply flipped him the bird to his back. "Yeah, and to you and yours as well." Rolling his eyes, he shook himself off and headed off towards his class, not giving Savannah Prince another thought.

  • above all things that she wouldn't admit, the one thing she did admit was that she loved the attention she was given. it was no secret, she basked in all the glory she was given at school. albeit, all the love and devotion people showed her was just because of her familial status and the idea that she would one day inherit all the money her family had as soon as she turned twenty-one. she knew that most of the people she surrounded herself with weren't her real friends, they were just there for the popularity that came with savannah, and that was enough for her, as long as she wasn't alone in the world.

walking into the school building, she was instantly greeted by her two 'best friends', jessica and maria. jessica was tall, blonde, and beautiful. her mother worked as a supermodel and she got all the free clothes she could ever want or need through her mother. unfortunately, she had real daddy issues considering her real father was never in the picture. maria, while not of wealthy status, was still beautiful with curly brown hair and tanned skin that she naturally inherited from her puerto rican father. she was only friends with savannah because she offered great insight on the ins and outs of their high school. upon meeting up with the two, maria handed savannah her usual starbucks coffee, which she gratefully took.

a small group of students had gather to ogle savannah and she drank in the attention like her life depended on it. she said polite thanks to all the compliments she got from most of the girls and sometimes she would give one or two of them a compliment in return, her ruby red lips stretched into a grin. further down the hall, movement caught her eye and savannah shifted her gaze past an auburn haired girl who was going on and on about how she loved savannah's new skirt. she watched as james shoved his adoptive brother jonas into the arms of another football player.

james was someone that savannah was awfully familiar with, being a cheerleader she had gone to many of the football games and had even exchanged a few words with james. it was cliche of her, but she enjoyed the company of the football players due to the popularity they received. jonas, however, was someone savannah had avoided like the plague, while the two had had short exchanged of words, they never had a full blown conversations due to the the major gap in popularity between the two of them being the curious type, she liked to stick her nose into things that weren't her problems, but she couldn't help it. with a heavy sigh, she opened her locker and grabbed the books she would need for her first few classes before shutting her locker with a slight bang, startling a girl next to her. "sorry," she muttered before flicking her fingers towards maria and jessica, signalling that she was heading to class. she had first period with maria, meaning the girl would join her eventually.

outside the classroom was a flyer advertising the annual holloween howler dance, one that savannah never missed. running a red manicured finger along the paper, she plastered a smile on her face before entering class. very few people were in the classroom yet and it was quiet. savannah took her usual seat in the front of the class, pushing her hair away from ne of her shoulders.

Okay, so here's what I was thinking ^_^ How about Jonas and Savannah get paired up for a team project. Since they can't go to Jonas's place, they go to her's and while they're there, her mom or dad says something about needing a new landscaper or something and Jonas can volunteer and that's how he ends up working for her family?

Also, I was thinking about having James ask her to the Halloween Howler Dance and maybe the two of them can date for a short bit of time? This would create some drama that could prove fun ^_^

    ic:

Jonas made sure to hang back near his own locker for a while before heading to his first class. Unfortunately, James was in his first class, as was Savannah and a few of her followers. Personally, Jonas would have rather swallowed razor blades than spent a class period with either of his brothers, but James was the worst. Unfortunately, skipping wasn't an option. Fortunately, it was just an hour and he'd be off to his photography class. He'd have to try not to count down the minutes, slowing time to an excruciating pace.

The bell rang as Jonas was crossing the threshold of the room. At the front of the room, the professor gave him the stink eye, but the young man simply ignored it and made his way to his seat in the back of the room. Tossing his backpack up against the wall, he sat himself down, blowing a strand of his messy hair out of his face and looking up towards the board. He rolled up the sleeves of his sweater to about his elbows, flashing his ink without even thinking about it. Noticing a few people staring at him, he popped an eyebrow up in curiosity. Without any words or any interaction at all, they turned around. With a shrug, Jonas simply pulled out his notebook and began prepping for class to start.

When he next looked up, Jonas realized that his brother was sitting in the desk next to Savannah. He didn't miss the way James kept casting her these weird, side glances and from Jonas's perspective, it actually looked kind of creepy. It didn't take a genius to figure out that the quarterback's threat against Jonas earlier had been a method of marking his territory. James didn't want Jonas anywhere near Savannah because he was planning on making a move. As that thought occurred to him, Jonas was almost inclined to laugh out loud. As if Savannah Prince, the crown jewels of Castlebrook High School, would even waste a few words on someone like Jonas. What was James even worried about?

The class dragged on for an hour with many of the students quietly talking amongst themselves and passing notes like elementary school kids. About ten minutes before the bell rang, the teacher turned back towards the class. "Okay, that will be it for today. Before you go on your merry ways, I'm going to need you to all to take a good long look at the list posted by the door. There you will find your partner's for Friday's team project. Teammates are non-negotiable, so don't come crying to me if you can't get along." He finished speaking a moment before the bell rang, staring out at the class over his thick round glasses. When no one moved, he brushed his hands through the air. "Shoo! Off to your next classes!" And so they were dismissed.

Jonas sort of jolted out of his daydreaming in the back of the classroom as people started getting up and moving around. He picked up his bag and headed towards the door. There was a heavy traffic jam as students tried to check who their partners would be. It looked like Jonas was going to be late for his next class as well. Meanwhile, James had hung back and was trying to sweet-talk Savannah. Jonas casually eavesdropped as the big scary football star spoke so sweetly to the girl. He almost felt inclined to warn her of what kind of person James actually was, but she might've simply fainted from having to talk to someone less popular than herself. Rolling his eyes as he heard mention of the Halloween Howler, he decided to stop listening. It was almost his turn at the partners list anyways. Please don't be James... Please don't be James... He read the name that sat next to his on the list and frowned. "Oh, great."

  • occ: i like that idea. plus it forces jonas and savannah to interact.

i love the idea of james and savannah dating to create drama, i literally live for drama! with this, maybe she starts to see how james acts around jonas and by then, the two are sort of friends so that may cause the downfall of their relationship or something?

    ic:

school was always a drag for savannah. while she loved the attention she gained from the other students, she hated the part where she had to actually attend class, but she knew that inherit her family's business one day, she would need an education. she planned on going to college to study business and finances. trading one school for a much bigger one seemed pointless to savannah, but she knew it was needed in order to succeed in life. at least, that's what her father always told her.

savannah was doodling on the corner of a fresh page in her glittery silver notebook, creating smooth lines with her black ink pen. when someone sat down next to her, savannah looked up to see james who she smiled at politely, despite all the questions buzzing around in her head. maria entered the classroom after him, skipping over o her desk next to savannah. as class began, savannah kept most of her attention towards the professor. despite what most thought, savannah was rather smart, of course she was no genius, but she managed to keep up with her studies. her attention was diverted when a folded piece of paper landed on her desk, which she picked up between her manicured fingers and gently unfolded, trying not to make a sound that would alert the professor. she read the words written in maria's delicate cursive handwriting.

'hottie looking at you! jealous!' savannah suppressed a grin as she simply wrote back, 'can't seem too eager. might scare him off.' before folding up the letter and tossing it back to maria, who practically lunged at the note. savannah felt like a child, passing notes in elementary class, trying to be discreet so the teacher didn't force you to read it out loud to the class. flirting with the quarterback was enough to keep everyone on their toes, wondering if the two would ever get together. she had to admit, the two of them would make an amazing power couple, only strengthening her hold on Castlebrook's social hierarchy. she grabbed the note that had been placed on her desk once more. 'lucky! you always get the hot ones.'pushing her hair behind her ear, she stole a glance at james, only to see him already looking at her. she smiled, biting her lip before turning her attention back to the font of the room.

the hour seemed excruciatingly long, sitting in the same seat the whole time while the professor went on and on with his lecture. savannah was surprised she hadn't been bored to sleep about now. she had jolted down a few notes at the beginning of class but when the lecture started to become repetitive, she just gave up and tossed her pen down on top of her notebook. when the bell rang, the blonde practically sprang out of her seat, throwing her pen back into her chanel bag before gathering her books into her arms. when the professor mentioned something about partner projects, savannah cringed and mumbled a soft "fuck," under her breath.

turning around, she came face to face with james. she smiled at his sweet-talk, the fact that she was the one who had his attention. her ruby red lips spread into a grin and her head tilted slightly to the side as she giggled at something he said. it was one of those giggles that savannah had spent years perfecting, one that seemed more robotic than anything else, but james seemed not to notice. savannah looked over his shoulder, trying to catch a glimpse of the list the professor had posted, but the print was too small for her to read. when she heard the holloween howler dance come up in the conversation, her attention snapped right back to james, "i was wondering if you would like to go with me?" he asked.

if her smile could get any bigger, surely she would like the chesire cat. she had been waiting since the first announcement of the dance was made for someone to ask her to the dance, the fact that it was james, who just so happened to be within the same social hierarchy as her, was just a plus. "of course!" savannah gushed, pulling her books closer to her chest. "walk me to my next class?" she asked as she moved past him and towards the paper, where she searched for her name. when she saw the name printed next to her own, her smile fell flat off her face and set into a grim line. jonas wilde.

  • Waiting for little Miss Queen Bee to quit making googly eyes at his brother was not something Jonas planned on doing, especially when his next class was photography. Furthermore, James was going to go bananas when he found out and Jonas would do just as well to be as far away as possible when that volcano erupted. He had actually just managed to slip out the door when he heard a loud "You've got to be kidding me!" James had read the list. Ducking his head and blending into the crowd, Jonas simply slipped out into the hall and headed off towards the dark room. He had other classes with Savannah. Might as well avoid the inevitable conversation he would have to have with her later. Besides, it would probably be something along the lines of him doing all the work while she rode happily through on his hard work.

Jonas hated hallways. People moved too slow or bunched up in groups, cutting off traffic and making everything unbearably slow. When he finally got to the photography classroom, he had just barely managed to beat the bell for the second time that day. It didn't matter in this class, though, as the teacher knew the boy well and had actually taken a liking to him. It wasn't every day you found students who were genuinely interested in what you had to teach. Most kids in the class were just in it to get an easy couple credits. He doubted any of them could even name the different parts of the camera. Furthermore, he doubted many of them even knew there were multiple parts to a camera.

He was just setting his pictures up to dry when the bell rang again. This was his escape. Photography was the only out he really had anymore... the one place where James and Rodney weren't. The only thing that still tied him to his parents. His dad had loved taking pictures and his mother had been a beautiful model for him. They never made any real money, but they were happy and Jonas knew he wanted something like that. Some kid made a farting noise before laughing with his friends as they left the dark room. Clearly he wasn't going to find his happily ever after in Castlebrook.

Shouldering his bag, he headed out, giving a two-finger salute to the young, hipster-esque woman who ran the art department. She waved goodbye, too busy with a phone call to actually say anything. Jonas headed back into the sea of high schoolers, keeping his head down as he maneuvered through the crowds. James was probably still fuming and Jonas knew better than to mess with the bull on this one. It wasn't even his fault, but it wasn't like James could go beat up the teacher for putting him and Savannah together. Besides, it wasn't like he wanted to be with her anyway. They were two very different people and the chances of them actually enjoying this little project were slim to none. Sighing, he managed to slip into his next class unnoticed and unbothered, settling in his seat in the very back with plenty of time to spare.

  • - sorry for not replying! my boyfriend went out drinking with a few of his buddies so i was appointing the dd. i ended up staying the night at his house so i was without my laptop so i waited to reply until now. i hope your weekend went well! -

"this is just great!" savannah hissed under her breath before she bit down on the nail of her index finger, one of her many nervous habit, one that she tried desperately to break but couldn't. jerking her nail away from her mouth, savannah exited the classroom without so much as a backwards glance at james, anxiety building up. what would people think if they saw her socializing with someone like jonas? surely nothing good!

savannah pushed her way through the crowd, accidentally angering a ginger haired girl who savannah impatiently pushed out of her way. savannah loved hallways and their crowds, it was where she received most of her attention other than the cafeteria, if she even bothered to show up considering her hatred for school lunches. what she did hate was when people got in her way. savannah didn't top to talk to anyone, she just headed for her next class, theater arts. being the daughter of a wealthy family, she was use to painting on some sort of facade for the public, especially at charity banquets and parties hosted by her parents for other wealthy families. savannah had a secret passion for acting, one she knew she would never truly act on, but she still liked the idea. in her dance classes, they put on shows like swan lake and other well known dances, which was the start of her love for acting. but while she loved acting, dancing was her one true love. at least, that's what she told herself.

for an hour, savannah was able to forget about her 'problems' as she laughed with the others in the class and listened to the teacher talk about all the forms of art, acting of course, being one of them. she watched as a few of her classmates put on a little skit that ended just as the bell rang. castlebrook had been her home all her life, and she had yet to find her happily ever after among the people she had known practically since birth. of course, she had dreams of living the fairytale life, finding 'true love'. she always dreamed of kissing her lover in the rain as they dance, or a love filled with laughter and honesty. she wanted something that was far from what her parents had. of course, in all her eighteen years, her dreams had yet to become a reality. but she was still waiting, wishing, hoping.

grabbing her books and hoisting her bag over her shoulder, savannah exited her classroom where she was met with by jessica and maria,. maria hooked her arm through savannah's free one. both girls, despite the fact that savannah was in heels, were taller than savannah, making her feel slightly inferior when it came to the two, but she knew that her height compared to the other two came off as 'cute', not exactly what savannah was hoping for, but she took what she could get.

her next class, savannah shared with her two friends, as well as jonas. maria and jessica took their seats in the front row, a seat in between them where savannah was suppose to sit. there were few people in the class with them and savannah made a split second decision. taking a deep breath, the blonde heading towards the back where she slipped into a seat next to jonas. she stayed silent for a moment as she set her books down on the desk and set her bag on the floor. she purposefully ignored the confused looks of her two best friends. it was an impulsive act, one savannah knew she might regret later. turning in her seat, she face jonas. "hi," she stated simply.

Jonas had just finished doodling a small flower in the top corner of his paper when someone sat in the chair next to him. He didn't bother looking up as it was usually some troublemaker that left him alone but caused the teacher trouble. Generally Jonas was pretty well behaved, but sitting in the back with the bad kids didn't do a lot for making other kids like him. Not that he cared, of course. James and Rodney made plenty sure kids didn't like him without him acting up on his own. With his lips parted just slightly as he continued drawing, he looked almost peaceful, lost in thought. He had pulled his sleeves back down since it was a bit cooler in the black room, so now only the edge of his tattoo sleeve poked out the end.

When he heard a familiar yet unfamiliar voice to his right, Jonas sighed inwardly. Here we go... Looking up from his paper, he finally saw her. Cocking an eyebrow, he offered a friendly smile. "Hi," he said back, just as simply. He offered no other words as he waited for her to speak. He was ready for her to dump the whole project on him. It happened all the time when he got paired with people higher on the food chain. Kids knew he was smart and if he got paired with a cute girl in the class, she was almost always more distracted by James and Rodney anyway... but again, not that he cared.

As he waited for her to speak, the 19-year old couldn't help but feel a bit antsy. People were watching them now and that was rarely a good thing for him. James, himself, wasn't in this class, but a couple of his football buddies were and Jonas had no doubt this would get back to him. He didn't predict a pleasant afternoon in the Beneaux house. Aunt Hodge would turn a blind eye to whatever tortures her sons had planned for Jonas and he would be at their mercy. Fighting back wasn't an option.

Twitching his pencil up and down and continuing to stare back at Savannah, Jonas kept his expression neutral with just a hint of cocky bad boy in his eyes. He needed to express that he wasn't intimidated by her or smitten with her without saying any of that out loud. He knew what kind of treatment she was used to from guys and girls alike and he wasn't about to give her the satisfaction. Simply speaking, he wasn't interested in her past this assignment and not even for that, really. He just wanted to get this over with.

  • - i've been sitting here thinking that i posted my reply when i never really did xD -

savannah sat stiffly in her seat, pulling at the hem of her burgundy colored skirt. occasionally her hand would go up and she would mess with her hair, fixing the soft curls the adorned the top of her head. a lump formed in her throat and for once in her life, savannah found herself nervous. savannah was never nervous when she spoke, she always seemed to have an air of confidence surrounding her, but she seemed to shrink in on herself at that moment, waiting for jonas's reply.

when he replied with a simple hi as well, savannah hesitated on what she would say next. when doing group projects, most expected savannah not to do any work, but she often surprised them. of course she contributed a fair amount of any projects due to her perfectionist nature and it hurt her pride just a little bit to think she was so dense as not to do any work. they probably thought she had the maids at the manor do it for her while she sat eating fancy cakes and drinking tea all day.

savannah could feel the eyes of their classmates on them, but she could care less. of course it put some sort of damper on her reputation, but she was willing to take a chance if it meant talking to jonas. he was someone that always made savannah curious and that scared her. her attention caught on his twitching pencil, watching the movement of it going up and down. when she looked up at him she noticed a cocky look in his eye. she could tell he wasn't intimidated by her which pleased savannah. she was glad at least one person wasn't trying to please her every second.

"hi," she said again with a soft exhale of breath, "i'm savannah. of course you probably already know that since we are partners for that project on friday, plus i'm pretty popular and all, not to sound conceited or anything, but i mean people talk about me a lot and you know... now i sound narcissistic," savannah cut herself off, grimacing.

"sorry," she apologized with a slightly nervous laugh, "i tend to ramble when i get nervous. it's just think project on friday, i just... well, you know." savannah fell short, at lost for words. she took a moment to compose her thoughts before turning in her seat to face him. "i just want you to know that i'm not some ditsy blonde like i may look like or what others might suggest. i just want to make sure that you'll give one hundred percent to this just as i will. i can't risk having a low grade on this, it wouldn't look good to my parents."

Jonas couldn't help but grin as he realized she was nervous. He knew people were freaked out by whatever rumors Rodney and James had spread around, but they usually tried not to let it show while they were verbally abusing him. Waiting for her say what she'd come back here to say, he rested his chin on his fist and watched her carefully through narrowed eyes. James would have an absolute cow - scratch that, a whole herd of cows - if he knew what was going on right now. Nothing was harmless to a jealous wad of jerk.

As she fidgeted, trying to find the words to say to him, Jonas couldn't help but be aware of the people watching them. It made his skin crawl. In a big way, that had been part of why he'd started sitting in the back of the room in the first place. Usually, most kids ignored him back here... And now, here Savannah Prince was spotlighting him to about twenty three curious sets of eyes. Keeping his eyes on her, he dropped the grin.

For a second, he couldn't tell where exactly she was going with all of this rambling. He couldn't help but let out a small laugh as she apologized for rambling and claimed she was nervous. "There's nothing to be nervous about, Princess. I don't bite" He smiled at her again, showing he meant nothing by the nickname. He waited patiently for her to continue her explanation of why she'd left her throne at the front of the classroom to come talk to the common folk like him... So maybe he had meant something by the nickname... but she didn't need to know that.

She looked at him with determination after that, something that actually caught Jonas a bit off guard. He hadn't been expecting her to talk to him at all, but this was definitely a first for him. For a couple moments he studied her face to make sure she wasn't just screwing with him. When he decided she was, in fact, serious about this, he smiled again. "You can count on me. Contrary to what my brothers would have you believe, I'm not some screw up, pot head. I intend to do well on this project." And with that, the bell rang and he turned to face the front of the room again, suggesting the end of their conversation.
