  • ✦✦✦ Spotteddream carved a promenade through the stratums of snow, just wide enough to guide a small feline on their journey. Gleaming in her midst was the notorious Shimmer Lake, now concealed beneath a shelter of ice. Admittedly, the sight of one of her worst nightmares wasn't as terrorizing when a sheath of permafrost lay between her and the algid waters. For reasons unknown to her, her immense fear of water had been of great prominence in her life since she was a kit. Growing up in BlizzardClan, plashes of rain water were always of great joy to her then youthful peers. For her, it was nothing but a chasm waiting to envelope her within its murky depths. This, unfortunately, would often leave her sidelined while her playmates where haphazardly frolicking through muddy tributaries. Truthfully, she didn't miss that aspect of her childhood in the slightest. Much to her inconvenience, this irrational fear had withstood its way into her adulthood, leaving her with crippling anxieties related to the matter.

Completely oblivious to her surroundings, she had carried herself nearly halfway across the icebound body of water. This reality would only become apparent to the daydreaming ragdoll when a sharp crack resonated in her ears. Her stomach plummeted, nearly emitting her latest meal into the back of her throat. With a pointed fracture, the thinning ice that once supported her weight released her into the ultramarine abyss. She couldn't scream, there wasn't enough time. Unwillingly accepting her fate, she insufflated what she then believed to be her last breath of air. Sapphire waters surrounded her in an instant, but much to her dismay, she remained completely untouched by it. Falteringly, she allowed one of her tightly closed visionaries to flutter open, observing what had caused this circumstance. She was suspended in the dimly lit expanse, insulated within a controlled bubble of air. Was she doing this on her own? There was only one way of determining this. With great persistence, she focused her cognition on lifting her vesicle from its glacial prison.

Resulting in her plethoric dread, Spotteddream had very little control over her capabilities. She erupted from the fissure upon an intermediate geyser she had unintentionally created, catapulting herself several feet in the air. With a dreaded thud, she was reunited with the frost-glazed turf in a rather indecorous manner. Stunned, she lifted her fatigued gaze to a cloudless sky, a welcomed sight for the mildly mortified feline. Though she currently couldn't put a name to her newfangled talent, she had unveiled the ability to manipulate water.

  • and if the stars collide, will you relieve my soul?

It was the sound of ice breaking in the air that caught his attention. Aleksei knew he was close to Shimmer Lake and being winter, the body of water was obviously frozen. It was still too cold for the ice to melt fully, at least in his opinion, so that left the option that someone had caused the ice to crack? A sense of alarm went through him and the panda raised himself on his back legs, as if trying to catch a glimpse of what was happening. Just a scar across the white surface where...someone fell in?

Dropping back to all fours, Aleksei would race over towards the scene, hesitating slightly as he reached where the ice began. However, before he needed to contemplate whether he had to go onto the ice, Spotteddream shot out of the lake and plopped down some distance away from him. Obviously, he was surprised and it was evident in the way he took a step back.

"You...alright?" he offered curiously once he had fully gauged the situation to satisfaction again. The panda approached, worried about Spotteddream's wet fur. There was a lot of it and he knew that people who had been dropped in freezing water could get hypothermia. Aleksei was tempted to get against her so that he could warm her up, but would that be too forward? Improper?

  • ✦✦✦ Spotteddream was astounded, and somewhat appalled. She hadn't the slightest idea what any of this meant, let alone how she would use it to her advantage. She had never recognized herself as an individual with exceptional capabilities, so this revelation meant altering every assumption she once had of herself. The spectral world encircling her was a discombobulated blur, an array of crystal azures and polished whites all blended into one. This had a dizzying affect on her mentality, so she couldn't begin to comprehend the arctic chill that was permeating through her coat. Hearing a familiar yet indirect voice threw her for an even greater loop. Every extremity and appendage on her body refused to move at the command of her bellowing thoughts. How was she supposed to respond when the only thing she could manipulate was her cognition? Presently, her ideations were no longer the only element she could administer. In a lineup of the hundreds, the moisture that once embraced her ivory coat divided into an arrangement of perfectly symmetrical beads. This awoke Spotteddream from her comatose state. "T-this isn't me, I swear!" She proclaimed, now fully capable of perceiving the panda's form. The liquidized tears now encompassed the femme like the rings of a celestial body, before dwindling into the icebound lake that birthed them. Though passably windblown, her coat was completely liberated of the hypothermic waters that previously burdened it. "I must profess, this is mildly embarrassing."

  • and if the stars collide, will you relieve my soul?

He had to admit that whatever she was doing or whatever was happening to the water was quite entrancing. Aleksei couldn't help but put a paw back slightly, rather amazed by the scene before her words sunk in. Her first exclamation confused him and the panda wasn't really sure what to make of it. This was still Spotteddream, right? Taking a breath, his ear twitched slightly before he offered, "What happened?" He assumed that she was alright right now, albeit a bit flustered.

  • peaceful walks sometimes always took an unexpected turn, sometimes for the worst. the lanky multi-colored form of the medic trainee made her way through the snow, which often felt as if it was insidious to her new form. her tiny clawed paws moved swiftly through the forest, being able to move now without hindrance (since her sprained ankle and injured leg in her domestic feline body). her alabaster rounded ears would twitch upon hearing the cracking and rush of water nearby rushing to her ears, seemingly coming from the shimmer lake- which was nearby, she could sense it with the faint use of super senses activated at the moment.

looking around before her dark chocolate beady optics noted her companion, poe, in the sky above: mentally messaging him with telepathy. hey, poe- can you go get me a warm towel in case anything happened? after her query demand was stated, it wasn't long til the obsidian crow adverted his direction- coming back to camp to seek an warm towel. mija would push off her front paws, supporting her weight upon her hind paws- getting a momentarily glimpse of aleksei, who seemed inquisitive of what the noise was just as she was. the medic trainee soon made her direction in which her leader was heading, which was at the lake also.

it wasn't long til the medic trainee arrived after aleksei, her dark beady optics studying the broken ice before noting the drenched form of the ragdoll- spotteddream. "oh my... what happened?" the soft yet stoic voice of mija would query, soon looking at her shoulder as poe landed next to her- holding the towel in his jaws before scuttling forward towards spotteddream. "water elemental powers? that's useful, i have it myself." mija would respond with a gentle smile, attempting to use her molecular manipulation to dry the water out before handing the other female the heated blanket.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ —Frank had been walking through the territory absentmindedly, wanting to get to know his new home on his own. The tiger hadn't heard the cracking of the ice, but he certainly noticed the huge geyser of water that spouted up from the lake to his left. Frank looked up with a frown- his view of the lake was obscured by the trees in front of him, but he knew that something was wrong. Geysers usually didn't spring up from lakes, especially not in winter.

He began to trot towards the body of water, reaching the edge of the trees just in time to see Spotteddream land on the permafrost. With a gasp, the tiger began to run forward, skidding a bit as he made his way onto the ice. He neared the ragdoll shortly after Mija, his jaw hanging down in wonder. "Are you alright? How'd you do that?" The male had never come in contact with elemental manipulation before- he had heard about the power, but he always took it with a grain of salt. To him, it seemed like an old witch's tale; not anything to be taken seriously.

Obviously he was wrong, especially considering the fact that Mija seemed to accept the occurrence like it wasn't a big deal. Clearing his throat, Frank closed his maw, inwardly chiding himself for his display of childlike wonder. The feline before him was probably already a bit uncomfortable- there was no reason to pester her even more. "speech."
