  • Unfortunately, Val had sort of forgotten about his ambassador duties. He felt bad about it, which was why he'd decided to pack an extra-special basket. It was full of candies he'd been given, a few flowers he'd managed to find himself, and a stuffed turtle. It'd been given to him by another ambassador, and he'd never really played with it. Hopefully, someone here would like it more. The cub stopped at the border, snug tight in the cape wrapped around him. He wondered what all had changed between his last visit. RiverClan was now Riverside, so he'd have to remember to tell them that. For now, both he and the hawk on his shoulders scanned their surroundings, ready to spot anyone's approach.

  • It was becoming more and more frequent that Treepaw took long walks all alone to try and clear his head from the usual anxieties that gripped him day and day out. That's how he came across the unfamiliar scent that belonged to the Riverside, spotting the young lion and his hawk at the border. He figured deep down that his dumb stuttering self was probably the last person anyone would want to chat with at the border, but he was also worried no one else would approach. Heck, as far as Treepaw was aware, him and Electrickiss were the only active members of this place. So the border collie cautiously approached, softly clearing his throat. "Uh... h-- hey... is there anything I can... help you with?..." He'd ask Valemon, his blue gaze shifting from the child before resting on the hawk out of nervous curiousity.

  • In all honestly, Val would've been glad to meet anyone who approached him. And, he thought this guy was pretty nice for greeting him when no one else would. "Ambassador of Riv-" He had to stop himself from saying 'RiverClan'. It had a different name, now. "Riverside. Wit' presents," he added, pushing the basket of goodies forward. Then, the cub was silent for a moment before he perked up, reminding himself of something he'd forgotten. "Oh! 'm Valemon Skywalker. How you?" According to others, the question of what was going on in the other Clan was customary in these visits. River, who noticed the border collie's stare, returned the eye contact. Treepaw hardly looked like a threat, but the sooner the hawk got Val back to familiar territory, the happier she'd be.

  • Valemon was certainly a different sounding name, but that would make it all the more easy for the canine apprentice to remember in the future when the child came to visit. "Th-- Thanks for the gifts. They look great." He personally loved flowers, so he would make use of them just fine in his own home if no one else wanted them. After a moment or two, something seemed to sink in, causing his blue eyes to grow big. "Oh! Right, I'm... I'm Treepaw. Nice to meet you. How's the Riverside doing currently?..." He'd add quickly, feeling silly or nearly forgetting to introduce himself. "And uh.... Is there uh... a-- anything I can get you while you're here? Food? Or... or water?..." It felt impolite not to offer something in return.

  • Val was happy he liked the gifts. He'd tried to put extra effort into it this time. And, he too loved flowers, which was why he liked giving them away to others.

The cub smiled as Treepaw introduced himself. It seemed like he was a little forgetful, as well. But, Val liked the border collie's name. He liked trees and especially the birds that perched in them. He was just a little scared to climb them. "Riverside good," he answered the other's question. Valemon racked his brain, trying to think of what Shine had discussed last meeting. All that came to mind were the events the leader had announced. "Do lots o' fun stuff. Climbing, slipping on th' ice, fun snow games." This might not be what Treepaw expected, but it was what Val thought was important. Then, at the mention of food or water, he shook his head. He wasn't hungry or anything. River relaxed her talons a bit, apparently thankful Val hadn't accepted food from a complete stranger.

  • Sounds like a lovely time,” chortled Lexi as she approached, the canine’s tail wagging slightly as she recognized the smell. “Glad to here that the Riverside is doing well. Are you sure you wouldn’t care to stay and rest awhile? I’m sure your journey here was rather long. We do appreciate you coming all the way out here.” the girl had only caught the tail end of the conversation between Skywalker and Treepaw, but she was still eager to express her own appreciation.

  • Had the apprentice known Valemon (to any extent, really) liked trees as well, he probably would have gone off in some really excited tangent about trees and plants. It was rare that Treepaw came out of his shell to be genuinely excited and happy about anything around others. Nature, especially trees, were his passion. So when he mentioned climbing, Treepaw perked up rather quickly. "Oh!... I uh... I'm really good at climbing trees." He'd tell the lion cub, sounding a bit more prouder then he probably should be about such a small accomplishment. "I... like summer a lot more but uh... I dunno. Snow games sound fun."

  • Val offered the other to appear a smile, but then shook his head once more. Although his worried father was no longer around, his mother could still be found in Riverside some of the time and he also had other friends that might wonder where he was. Any other time - perhaps if he'd let them know ahead of time - the answer would've been an immediate yes. Maybe some other day.

Other than that, Val was glad that Treepaw, who seemed a lot more introverted than himself, was willing to talk with him. The border collie was friend material for sure. "Climb trees not scary?" he asked. Treepaw was probably just a better climber than him. Maybe he didn't try to disturb the birds, as Valemon had, getting himself the scars on his nose. And, summer was the really warm time, right? In that case, Val agreed. The cub nodded, his brown eyes wide. "Snow too cold. Not 'lot o' flowers." Optimus had showed him that there were some that could be found below the snow, but to uncover them involved getting his paws cold.

lanza would soon arrive curious as to why everyone was gathered in the area. catching a fishy scent, she could only assume that the cub was from riverside. he must be an ambassador then. she thought as she didn’t hear anything about joining the clan or wanting to start fights. she would offer him a smile as she sat down, eager to contribute to the conversation. “hello, i’m lanza, what’s your name?” she would ask as she chuckled softly at treepaw and the cub’s comments about snow and flowers.
