Bruno stared out into the long corridor, noting all the different animals. His cage was regular sized and aside from a few cushions and such it was completely empty and plain. He had a scratching post in the corner but since he was more dog than tiger he didn't care for it. His stomach growled, knowing it would be feeding time soon. He wagged his semi bushy tail at the thought of seeing the scientists he was fond of. He looked across the way, watching the other creatures. He could easily see some sort of Lizard dog across the way, that he understood was named Xena. Jenny once said that it was a cross between a xoloitzcuintli and a dragon. Bruno didn't know what a xoloitzcuintli though, so he didn't bother to much with that thought, though he did like her. There was a squirrel wolf creature name Ursula, she scared him. All had cages that fit their needs and although he enjoyed life he knew there could be more to it. He had spoken to the animals around him and knew that on one side of him there was some weird dog thing called Haphazard. He had actually met Haphazard outside of his cage on a walk the scientists brought the animals that needed exercise and fate brought them out at the same time. On his other side was some sort of owl bird named Ayame, and many others on his side of the corridor and the other, he just didn't know all of them yet. He was still newer than some of the other creatures.

    image.php?id=2901414&size=large&format=auto&rev=1501965062

Haphazard zipped around his cage energetically, hitting the walls of his cage every once and a while. He heard a groan from one side and a growl from the other, words were included, but he couldn't hear them.

    image.php?id=3026398&size=large&format=auto&rev=1514852989

Wimsy groaned as Haphazard aimlessly raced around in his cage, just like most days.

    image.php?id=2968246&size=large&format=auto&rev=1508887552

Zack growled angrily as haphazard based against his cage, "would you stop that already?"

Ursula scuttled up a tree, glancing down every few seconds to check on her children. They were heavy sleepers, but she rarely left them alone. One of the other creatures was banging around in his cage, causing Ursula to give an irritated hiss but not even phasing her sleeping babies. The scientists would be coming with food soon, and Ursula was always on guard for that moment. She didn't mind most of the scientists, but always let them know that this was her home, and that she was in charge. Jenny seemed to know that, or at least respected Ursula's territorial habits.

    OOC:

Valentine had pressed herself against the craggy wall of the cool, salt-water portion of her cage. All eight of her tentacles posed and ready, griping and gliding over the hard stone. Her soft, yellowy eyes tracked the shape bobbing on the surface of the water before she pounced, pushing off the wall and wrapping her tentacles around a small ball that had been floating there. Valentine batted at the ball in the water, her suction cups sticking it to her paws quite well without the use of her barbs. She was admittedly, always quite excited and playful, but especially now.

But Seraphim, on the other hand, neurotically stalked his padded cell. He could hear the sounds from all the other creatures around him. His six wings flapped desperately, but his short tether kept him from getting anymore than a few inches of the ground. His hideous, blinded head turned to face the sound of hissing, which he returned with a low, raspy growl of his own. He couldn't tell who was to any side of his, nothing was clear, losing your sight tended to do that.

--Where the shore ends, become unwound

  • Xena was fast asleep curled up in the corner of a kennel like environment. She was quiet scary if anything. Maybe that's because she was part of creature that is supost to be extinct. But somehow managed to relive just by a few tests of such. Her amber eyes open as the sound of other members of the lab awoke from their deep sleep. Getting up, the hybrid streched and made her way towards the entrance, looking at anything that was in view which was a few of the creatures. She didn't do anything, but since it was early morning she felt more irritable. An unatural growl escaped her jaws as she lay down not seeming to care but still kept watch closely on everyone.

  • Malum hid themselves in one of the few items that help feel safe. It was a smoothed out, white board. They stared at the door, waiting for a human to enter and feed them. It wasn't only because they were hungry but they wanted to send out a spy for the day to receive information. They know they couldn't dig or make holes in the wall for their spy since the humans would simply seal it back up so this was the best way they could get their information, that's what they thought at least. Their creation-a mouse-like creature on fact- had been chewing on the bars of their cage to make a small hole.

The humans had known a bout their attempts and failures with these creations but rarely knew about their successes-that is, until their cage was cleaned. As they began to hear the other creatures stir, they wondered how long the humans would take. Surely the others were hungry, right? Their ears perked up as they heard a voice response to the noise, quickly recognizing it was Zack. They had found out about the male through one of their spies. They had quickly discovered that most of the creatures here were hostile but they had always remained neutral when faced with those-or any other- creatures.

A bird-like creation perched itself on their head before saying something in their ear. "Don't worry, we'll be fed and it'll get what we need" they said, blankly staring at the door. "Don't be silly, the humans always feed us at this time." They continued to converse with the bird-like creation until the mouse made a big enough hole that it could fit though and they watched as it ran off, staying near the walls.

  • Esmerelda stood in the corner of her holding cell, eyes filled with exhaustion. The experiments they'd been running on the mare had been draining her of her energy. She quietly shuffled herself over to the entrance, her eyes scanning through the metal bars for any humans. Where are they? She pondered, swishing her tail irritably.

  • Dr. Jenny entered the corridor of creatures, towing a wagon behind her filled with everything they needed. Food, fresh blankets, water, heating pads, ice packets, and mostly anything else. "Good morning everyone," she called out cheerfully even though she knew that only a few animals could actually speak her same language she could count on the calls of the beasts back to her most of the time. She inspected the leashes and collars next to the door, making sure they were all there. She then began to refill food and water. She reached the cage of the horse like creature. "Good morning Esmerelda," she chimed. She tossed some hay into the dispenser at the front of the cage, which fed it into the large enclosure. In another, she fed water into, and another, small bits of meat. "How's that?"

  • Esmerlda pricked her ears at the footsteps, nickering as she heard a familiar voice. She quickly turned out of the corner she was standing in and walked over to where her food had been placed. "Excellent, thank you." The mare snorted, taking in a large mouthful of hay and chewing it up. Her amber colored eyes followed the human as she continued with the rest of her duties around the lab. Dr. Jenny was the only human she'd allow near her without snapping.

  • Xena heard footsteps and knew that teh humans were here now. Her tail wagged happily at the thought of food which only made her more hyper. Her teeth were needle sharp and could easily brake skin like paper. She paces around the kennel for a moment her slit eyes focused on some of the other creatures. I can't eat them. she thought, her hunger getting the better of her. She sat down stareing at all of the animals curious about what they were. She didn't get along with them that much unfortunately. At first glance she looks very scary looking. In fact not many people go to the lab that much and when thet do there in fir a shock.

Ursula paused as Jenny greeted them, letting out a begrudging chatter as she always did. Dr. Jenny was better than most humans, but with children to protect Ursula couldn't be lenient. She caught one of the other creature's watching her with a hungry gleam in it's eye, Xena, and Ursa let out a threatening hiss. Try me...

    OOC:

Valentine heard Dr. Jenny's voice and chirped, letting go of the ball she was playing with and climbed out of the water. Her pigmentation started to change color, previously a dark pinkish-red, to black as she crawled her way over to the front of the cage.

Seraphim whipped his head in the direction that he heard the sciencetist's voice and footsteps, and pulled his ears flat against his head.

He let out a low growl, as he did everytime that he heard someone come by his cage. He didn't like the others here, he decided it early on and, admittedly, arbitrarily. He had nothing to base his deep hatred on: nobody here had hurt him, nor treated him cruely. Testing was not invasive, or painful. So far. He reminded him, bitter and full of spite.

--Where the shore ends, become unwound

  • Esmerlda cocked her ears at the chattering and low growls coming from other creatures in surrounding cages. The mare did her best to ignore them, quietly eating her portion of meat and forage. She heard these sounds daily, and she was growing restless being cooped up, hearing everyone. She wanted a bit of change, but she most importantly wanted to get the heck out of there. The experiments they'd been running on the mare had been draining her of her energy, and at times made her have odd visions. Oh won't you all shut up... She thought, pinning her ears at the noises the others were making.

  • Jenny nodded to the mare, "great." Upon seeing the octopus like cat pop up the the front her cage, she grinned. She grabbed the young creature's food, putting it to the front of the wagon, "your turn is coming." But she first made her way over to Ursula's cage, knowing she would need the proper amount of food for herself to keep her babies well fed as well. She opened up the cage, dropping her needed food into it, "there you go," she said softly. "you've got to keep up your energy somehow." She then backed up, closing the cage door, as to not seem a threat. She stood up, looking as to see who was next. Xena was in the inside part of her enclosure, obviously awaiting her meal. She went to her wagon, pulling up the meat that would feed her that morning. She dropped it in the cage through a hole similar to the one in Esmerelda's door, except that there was no top hole for the dog-like creature to look out of, while the mare could look out if she wished. "There you are Xena!" She then turned back to the cart, in turn filling up Bruno, Whimsy, haphazard (whom had finally calmed), and Zach's food dishes. She then took the formula with fish and wet cat food in it over to the octopus cat. She opened the door to its cage, "come on over here Valentine, your food's ready."

Ursula snapped her head towards the cage's opening, seeing that it was Dr. Jenny approaching with food. She shot back down the tree she'd been on, pausing at the bottom of the trunk to watch and wait. Jenny opened the cage, dropped the food in, and backed out again, making no sudden moves or loud noises. Ursula cooed her thanks, bounding forwards and beginning to eat. Whenever the humans respected her, her family, and her space like that, she felt more trusting towards them. After she'd devoured her meal, Ursula crawled into her hole in the ground nest with her babies, waking them so they could feed.

  • Malum turned their attention to towards the second of a voice and quickly recognized it to be Jenny. As the other creatures began to respond to Jenny's presence, their bird creation disappeared while they came out, padding over to the door. They looked around to see what the others were up to as they grew a bit curious about how was making so much ruckus. As they looked around, they notice their rat-like creation was nowhere in sight. They gave a short nod before sitting down and waiting patiently for their food

  • Xena waited patiently and as soon as the food arrived, she began to eat it quickly. After eating it she looked around to see if there will be any more even though she knew that there wasn't. Still, she did it anyway. Yawning, the odd looking creature sat down awaiting for something to happen. Anything entertaining like fights or an argument. She then watched as Jenny continued to feed the other creatures one by one without interruption like usual.

  • The way it lit. The path is clear.

OOC: Oh shoot, I thought I replied! Feel free to yell at me if I forget to reply, it's all good guys. I'm also trying out a new fancy, but I don't know how I feel about it...

"Hello!" Valentine greeted with a meow, crawling up the door very casually. The octocat was purring happily, rubbing her head on the side of the cage. Valentine started lapping at her food with her raspy tongue, her tentacles gripping the bowl and her bioluminescence briefly and very faintly lighting up.

Seraphim stopped growling, and drew closer to the front of the padded cage. His ears were shoved forward, and his tail was completely stiff. Every muscle under his dark, bluish fur was tensed, ready to explode into action, quick like a spring trap as he waited.

  • Dr. Jenny smiled, "good job little one." She then got up, closing the cage door behind her. She quickly dusted off her pants, looking around her. The creatures would soon all be put in a room together, most likely this would be done multiple times. The room would be specialized to fit all of their needs, it would be a good test to see how all of the animals would get along together. Her eyes drifted to Seraphim, he certainly could not be brought into the room with the rest of them. Many of the others could be questionable, but in time it would be figured out.

  • The way it lit. The path is clear.

OOC: Somehow, I forgot that Dr. Black existed...he's here now. I know this isn't great quality either, but I'm surprisingly tired right now

Valentine mewed softly, and continued on with her meal. Honestly, she would still prefer straight formula, but she was coming around to the idea of more solid foods. It wasn't too bad.

Dr. Damien Black took one last drag on the cigarette between his fingers, and exhaling the smoke slowly. Putting out the smoldering cigarette, the scientist took a clipboard and a few stacks of notes in hand and made his way to the corridor. He looked down the way to see Dr. Jenny and picked up his pace somewhat, still glancing from the corners of his dark glasses at the creatures eating.

"Dr. Jenny, I do apologize for my, well...tardiness. I hadn't intended to take as long as I did." Damien tried to stay formal as possible, though it reflected poorly on him to be late and he knew it.
